Anytime people stack books all the way up to the ceiling... I always imagine that, at some point, they will pull a book from the top and a spider will fall onto their face.
I in fact accidentally ran my face through a web as a kid, so pulling a spider with book will happen.

I think it would be fun to watch a video of you (through Zoom or whatever) helping someone re-organize their bookshelf. That would be fun! Someone who you think has a reasonably-sized shelf (to limit time) but also has the right elements, but the wrong aesthetic. It could be a cool way to see you interact with one of your followers. Love the videos, keep up the great work!

Omg I screamed when my shelves were featured - thanks Daniel!!! I shouldâve clarified that that light is my dining room table light, which is where I also work from (itâs a small place, itâs my desk and table lol) I moved it out of the way to take the picture. But I love the light, it gives off the perfect vibe lighting! (And my shelves are my backdrop for all my work calls, itâs very good)
Sigh, I'd really love to send my shelves in to be roasted/critiqued. But I have avoided joining up to Twitter all this time and a shelf roast isn't incentive enough to take that particular dive. I'll just have to watch others get theirs looked at.
I'm working on getting a better shelf. Right now I have an old small cabinet with a missing door. And two stacks of books in my room

I was all excited when the gnome fantasy book was suggested, then I went and watched the review. I have a shelf dedicated to gnome fiction (mostly for children) so now have to buy and read it even though I have terrible expectations. Thanks a lot.
As the sister of a Librarian I have questioned best way to store books. Upright or on their side is the best way for the longevity of books. On the point of laying them with the spine up it can damage the whole book. I don't send mine in because most of mine is on a Kindle. And yes I have over a thousand books on my Kindles.

Which is a good thing, because the first time I read it? I did it completely out of order. Whenever a hold came through at the library, I just grabbed it and read it, bounced all over the series. No regrets, but your general WoT enthusiasm has encouraged me to read the series properly now and it makes a lot more sense. So thank you, Delightful Chaos Goblin. Thank you.

Funny thing - I was just thinking about this series last week. Saw a great set of shelves at a coffee shop, and I want to make use of it as home decor once I move out of an apartment. The shelves were free-standing but created pseudo walls in the open floor plan. I liked it.
Loving this. I currently have too many books to see all the spines at once so I might have to take some photos after I get a new bookshelf.

i might be biased because i have an entire wall of tall white shelves, but i honestly love white shelves so much. they work with most decorations and make colourful books pop. i think black/wood shelves can look amazing too but sometimes they crowd the books or clash with the colours. then again, i do have light purple walls and many colourful books so i do see how for others with white walls and white books, it might look bland or not distinct enough. i like em though :-)

I love seeing other people's shelves. Mine are a mess. And when you brought in the reading nook...I miss a house I used to own: I had an amazing space in that house which served as a reading nook. The current house is too small for a reading nook. On the other hand, the living room and bedroom have both become reading nooks, so that's good! But I do have too many books for current shelving...
