Great list, but personally I believe Embo belongs on there somewhere. He was the second most successful bounty hunter during the clone wars behind cad bane.

My Number 1 Has to be Jango Fett
1. He killed multiple jedi with his bare hands
2. An awesome backstory
3. Very sucessful and respected
4. Clone's genetic template
5. Unlike most mandalorian nowadays, he uses his armor as less of a crutch and more of an asset

I would have agreed with all of this, if it wasn't for the existence of Boba Fett.
But in light of that, I would personally have placed Boba as number 1 and Jango as number 2.
Cad Bane would have to be number 3 in it all. Jango had a reputation unlike any other bounty hunter in the galaxy. Everyone knew who Jango was, and how epic he was.
It was his reputation and the respect he had gained that made Aura Sing take on Boba Fett and help him out of a difficult time after loosing his dad.
And because of Jango's respect and reputation, Boba was viewed upon as having potential to become as good if not even better than Jango himself, due to them having the same exact DNA.

Agreed I think Jango was a lot more skilled than Boba. At the time of AOTC he was older than Boba was in tbobf and still in his prime. He also mentored both Boba and Cad Bane
7. Cad bane only became big in the clone wars cause by that time Jango was dead.
For season 2 of book of boba fett, as much as I like the cameo of grogu and mando, I really think they should backseat that aspect of the show and emphasize more appearances of canon characters or bounty hunters such as bossk, dengar, etc. The series has such huge creative and depth potential, just don’t want to see it become too tied into mandolorian

Yup. I love Mando, but leave him mostly for his own series. If he's gonna help Boba, that's cool. But he doesn't need multiple episodes of Boba's series
Yeah the show has so much potential to be more a house of cards vibe, and boba rebuilds old connections to take out old organizations that exploited him and his colleagues over the years

Book of Boba Fett can be summed up pretty neatly as "everyone (including the audience) forgets how much of a badass Boba is, except for Boba himself. Boba knows he's good, he just practices restraint and the maxim of teddy Roosevelt: Walk Softly (with spurs) and carry a big Gaffi Stick.
I think you mean the writers forgot. Like in 99% of the time in the book of boba fett, he is either weak, stupid or saved by plot armour. Remember episode 1 where he fires a missile into a shield right in front of him, when he got beat in combat by a random tusken, also remember when boba struggled to destroy a small robot, when he almost killed him and fennec using the slave 1 to look into the sarlacc pit. There’s still many more times in the series.
@@ibleminen I think it was more "he is badass, but the guy needed to be humbled" . I forget the missile one, but the tusken was at his lowest point, having lost his armor and usual kit. The robot was just like one of those situations when you're trying to kill that one bug but it just seems to get away just as you think you caught it. and the sarlacc pit... okay yeah he was just dumb with that one.
If they bring Bossk into live action he should be nearly as tall as the wookies. That'd be terrifying
I’d love to see him fight krsantan at least but if there was a good reason for it I’d accept a Chewbacca cameo. He’s not dead yet I don’t think so there is always that possibility. Perhaps him and Han head back to mos espa to pick up one last job only to be caught in the middle of krsantan and bossk. Chewey, recognizing the trandoshan, engages alongside the other Wookiee with Han trying to just end the fight as fast as possible w his blaster
I hope they don’t since he does have a canonical height. Now it is disputed but he is either 6’3” or 6’9” depending on source. So he could be a big guy but not that Wookiee height.
@@FoggyTheHippo Oh yeah, for sure not the height of a Wookie. Just much closer than most other Trandoshans we've seen in live action so far.
They should've brought him in instead of Mando, don't get me wrong (I loved those episodes) but it would've been better to establish Bossk in live action
Technically his first live-action appearance was in the empire strikes back.But he didn't get to do any fighting hopefully he will appear in season 2 of the book of boba fett assuming the show gets a second season.
I want Durge to comeback! I feel like they can make a good horror/monster themed episode involving se wired mass of flesh and tentacles only to realize it's Durge reforming after all these years
Something's crawls into Bobas Armor as he takes a soak in the bacta tank....
Durge has shown up in the Doctor Aphra comics, so he was spared his Legends fate of being thrown into a star by Anakin.
Durge pre-Disney is what we should see. Forget about tossing him into a star, just bring him back and take on the posers in the new trilogy and show them who is boss.
He is canon now
The only complaint i have is the consistency. Is this list based on who was a better fighter or who was better at doing their job? Like 1v1 Asaj and Durge would probably be the last one’s standing but like with Asaj she wasn’t great or reliable with the jobs given. Boba was obviously great at getting jobs done but when it comes to 1v1 situations only thing he has is killing Cad Bane by surprise
Yeah the criteria should be more consistent. I’d also say while Boba is the better Bounty Hunter, Jango is the better fighter.
I would also give him the W of taking down that sand monster with the chains and no armor

I think she's also probably one of the more popular characters introduced in the last years, rightfully so.
However my favorite Bounty Hunter will always be Cad Bane since I saw him the first time in the clone wars, the western vibes are just super neat.

She is a pretty slept on character, I remember first seeing her cameo in S7 and loved that nod to the mandolorian

Gotta switch out Ventress and Embo on this list reorder as necessary. While Ventress is legendarily good, how many bounties did she really complete? No doubt it was few before Dooku dealt with her.
Yes, this is a list of best bounty hunters, not a list of best fighters. How good they were at the job is more important than who would win in a fight.

@@Julian-pw5mv that's literally the point. She didn't have that much of a career as a hunter. There are very few contracts she did and honestly most of them weren't that high profile (Savage was probably one of the highest, and she failed that one)
As a warrior she would easily win all of them, but alas this is the list of the best bounty hunter, not the best warrior

Bounty hunters are so freaking cool you can't watch star wars without having bounty hunter who bring you in warm or bring you in cold

We have clearly not seeing enough of these bounty hunters to actually give them a fair shot. With the exception of Cad Bane and Boba Fett who have literally been around since the Clone Wars. We need more Bounty Hunter content.
Season 2 needs to have more homage payed to the different bounty hunters, lay off the Mandalorian cameos
@@devenmacintosh4124 Tbf, the best episodes were the ones which included Mando, but I do agree that we definitely could've included some Bossk instead, he would've been a perfect addition to Boba's entourage

Cad Banes “Holocron Heist” arch in the clone wars easily puts him at number one, Boba Fett has never even come close to matching his accomplishments in that arch in cannon.
Facts
In legends, Boba went toe-to-toe with Vader and lived to tell the tale so I think that's comparable.

Zuckuss & 4-LOM need some live action screentime. Might not change up this list but deserve to have more fans know them as great hunters in their own right.

I think Jango was the best skill wise, but we only saw his tragic death, cad bane wouldn't have survived in the same situation, same with Boba, Jango was on top for a reason, plus windu was one of the strongest jedi, beating a sith in combat, so I don't think it's fair to say he is trash because he died the was he did
true. Windu is just on a completely different power level. I mean he even had Sidious beat until Anakin chopped his hand off. Jango could probably clap nearly any other person
Especially in Hand-to-hand combat. Idk much on how well Jedi fight without a Lightsaber, I've seen a few in the shows, but I feel like Jango would win against nearly any Jedi in a fist fight, hell he practically did when he fought all those Jedi with his bare hands.
Windu didn’t just beat a Sith, he beat THE Sith, Palpatine, the culmination of the Rule of Two’s 1000 year long grand plan to over throw the republic and destroy the Jedi. Windu was able to instantly win against Grievous with a quick force crush, Cad Bane and Boba Fett would be just as screwed as Jango was.
Bane was the only person that gave Jango a run for his money, especially after their joint ventures. It still doesn't feel as if Boba can measure up to those 2, even if he killed elderly bane.
Then again, if I were to fight Mike Tyson when he's 85 I would also probably win, so was Boba the impressive one of those 2?
True most of Jangos feats happened before the events in the movies. He killed several Jedi, and was so renowned he was chosen to be the template for an entire fking army.
My favorite character in all of Star Wars is Jango Fett. I see in the comments a lot of ppl also have a bounty Hunter as their favorite character. Goes to show you how cool they are in this universe.
would have loved to see a Jango Fett and maybe even Darth Vader cameo in the recent series, much more so than luke, ahsoka, grogu or R2
Personally he is one of my favourite sw characters, I think he is the coolest looking mandalorian, and I would put him as number 1 on this list

Alan, you also forgot to mention that Boba survived being eaten alive by a Sarlacc as well. I don't know if Cad Bane can survived that or not because I cannot figure it out. So what do you and the others think of this? Is Bane most likely going to died if he got eaten by a Sarlacc?
Bane has shown several times that he can prevent fatal situations with his booster shoes. He simply wouldn't end up in the pit to begin with. He was 72 by the time he died, and had fought over a dozen jedi by that point.
His reflexes were also quite a bit faster than Boba, as well as him having more experience against jedi than Boba so he might have stopped Luke even before he got his sabre.
My personal theory is that Cad even sought out the fight with Boba in order to die, because he wasn't long for the world anymore and he wanted to give his former pupil 1 last lesson.
In terms of on screen successful missions, there is also not a single bounty hunter I can think of that defied the odds as often as Cad.
Boba mainly survived because of his armour
Boba Fett once took a bounty on a crime boss for three credits, and left the kid who had made the offer the crime boss' treasury.

Din is actually an extremely good tracker, probably better than most on the list.

He's a good tracker, but so are Bossk, Boba, Bane, Fennac and probably Jango wasn't to shabby either with his many years of bounty hunting.
Yet most of those 5 also have shown more impressive combat. Mando looks cool but without his armour he'd have died a hundred times already.
From my time as a kid in the early 80s examining every detail of the Kenner action figure (and inventing purposes for every robotic part), IG-88 will always be a sentimental favorite of mine. IG-11 in the TV series wasn't too far off from what I imagined, combat wise.
I feel like Jango is probably the only one who could have outdrawn Cad Bane in a straight up duel.

Ya know, boba mached bane's speed during a draw in TCW (that's how he got the dent on the helmet and bane the plate on the head) and he was just a child so... yeah. And ya know, talking about abilities and hand-to-hand fight I'd say Jango and his mandalorian fighting skills are really unbeatable.
Probably shouldve mentioned that child boba fett beat bane in his prime on the draw. Or at least matched him
They shot at roughly the same time. Cad Bane got a head wound and Boba got the dent in his helmet. Boba won because he had armor.

jango should of been #1 imo or atleast higher than cad bane. In his comics he was a true mandalorian and killed many jedi. If any non force user would fight jango he would come out on top 9/10 times.
Name has also killed many plus infiltrated the Jedi holoceon vault

Jango was the best Mandalorian and the best bounty hunter. That guy was epic and could kill force users with his bare hands. Was choosen to be the clone templetand to train the clones because he could kill jedi. Hope Boba becomes Mand’alore so that Jango’s plan comes true. If that happens as I think it will, Jango is one of te most important characters in Star Wars, he already is, but if his clone son accomplishes his goal. Wow.
I also think Boba was just done with all the violence. It's why instead of intimidating people he walked among them, talked to them, heard their concerns and tried to address said concerns.

Bane also was more ruthless until the end. He died on the job so I'd give him the top spot.
But do we actually know the lifespan of a Duro? I seriously don't know but if Duros can live longer than humans it would stand to reason that they are also longer in the prime. Maybe it was said that Duros and Humans age about the same but I just think it's hard making age comparisons in star wars where little green aloens are still basically toddlers at 50 years old

Correction. Boba was faster than Bane if you listen he fires first but misses and that was after fighting for an hour and taking dozens of hits which do hurt.

Black K assassination attempt on Boba Fett felt more akin to a wild encounter with a Kodiak bear
It's always frustrating to me how many people always seem to forget Durge considering he could probably wipe out anyone else on this list and serve them up on a silver platter. Canon or not he was a complete badass in the 2003 series!
Thought it was very good However I still do personally think Jango belongs on top. It's is still a great list and the top 3 really could make an argument for any in the top three to change places.
Man, imagine if Durge was the villain of BOB season 2...we DEFINITELY need more bounty hunter content.

I know in the Star Wars jargon that Bounty Hunter is a much larger catch all term then actual bounty hunting, but Ventress and largely Cad Bane really where Mercenaries. Neither really seemed to do much bounty hunting. They served as hired guns and thieves. Mando actually tracked people down and captured them for bounties.

I think bossk has already beaten black krrrsantan so think he should be higher, boosk has a lot of experience while black krrrsantan was a gladiator and even then lost to bosk.
And well... I think jango is faster than boba and he doesn't need to abuse a jetpack to beat a jedi as seen in the episode 2 against obi wan(i mean bane couldn't do much if he wasn't running around with those boots all the time) and well he was originally beaten by... KID BOBA like this cad bane dude was supposed to be killed by a kid in the clone wars

Assaj bounty hunting skills are nothing special. While for a 1 on 1 fight she is probably the strongest bounty hunting takes more than being a good fighter.

Hope Bossk shows up for BOBF season 2, his old partnership with Boba would make for a great conflict between the two, especially with Krrsantan on Boba's team now, since Bossk and Krrsantan are both bounty hunters, and members of rival species
I think he would really dislike the Trandoshans of Mos Espa though, with their lack of Scorekeeper pleasing

I went bounty hunting a few days ago, found the delicious coconut and chocolate delicious treat in the shop....
As a Sasquatch (Terran Wookie; ain't parallel evolution cool?) I must say that fur is not to be underestimated. It's not the best armor, but it's ablative nature absorbs blaster bolts well, and, being fibrous and loose, it's on par with gambeson with regards to most blades. Fur's weaknesses are slug throwers and solid bolts such as arrows and crossbow bolts.

I'd say Cad Bane number one due to longevity as a bounty hunter. He was personally hired by Sideous for jobs so that's saying a lot. I'd have Boba over Jango as well due to Boba operating without jedi running around to make it harder. Fennec is really skillful but her amateur mistake basically got her killed if Boba didn't help her, I can't see Jango/Boba/Cad Bane getting in her situation.

IG droids being independent bounty hunters is a silly thought to me. Like anyone hiring them could drop a droid popper on them after the job is done with no moral dilemma. It’s just a droid.
I mean I doubt the sort of people that hire professional killers would really be in any moral dilemma to do the same to a living bounty hunter. But a asset is a asset, why destroy something you may have use of in the future. Also it's hard to get people to work for you when everyone that takes the job never comes back.

I want to see more bounty hunters in Bad Batch season 2 Embo, Suigi, Fennec, Bossk, Dengar, and of course Cad Bane.

My favorite Bounty Hunter not on this list is probably Shae Vizla. Outside of having a pretty cool design, she was a very accomplished Bounty Hunter closely working with the Sith Empire on the front lines. Shae Vizla's heavy use of flamethrowers in her killings would earn her the nickname Tourch. Later in life she even became Mandalore the Avenger. As Mandalore Shae helped unite mamy Mandalorians, and gained glory for her people in her fights against the Eternal Empire, and even Revan. No matter which point in history it is, Shae Vizla is extremely accomplished.
Black is fairly tall for a wookie while city trandoshans are usually shorter than normal, which is probably the reason he was able to flee
