Most truck buyers get trucks that are way more capable than the Ridgeline, but the driver will never need that capability. They'll pay more, consume more fuel, and will sacrifice ride/comfort. Bravo to Honda.
Awesome for taking MX dirt bikes out for weekends. Exactly what I need. And it looks good. And it's way more comfortable than a typical truck.
Just signed the paperwork for this exact truck (white RTL), a new 2018. Great review, very funny, doesn’t waste time and SHOWS THE FULL INTERIOR. I’m so sick of car reviews where the person just holds the camera in front of them and talks.
I just purchased a 2017 Ridgeline Black edition yesterday. And I feel as if I've watched every single CZcams video about the new Ridgeline, and most of them twice. This review is by far the most entertaining one out there, and also quite informative without wasting time needlessly. Thank you Steve.
You're very welcome! Thanks for your kind words. I hope you enjoy many years and thousands upon thousands of miles of safe driving pleasure with your new Black Edition!!!! That is an amazing vehicle..:) Steve
Mike Briggs so im not the only one watching every single video about this truck. my history is also obssessive lol. congrats on your purchase! hope to have mine very shortly. agreed, one of the best reviews yet.
I love the thought that goes into creating these videos. Steve, You rock! Great info and fun to watch.
Thanks so much..:) Coming from a HondaPro guy like you...that really means a lot! I enjoy your videos as well. I appreciate the feedback and am glad a few folks, like yourself, enjoy our work. I try to make them fun as well as interesting whenever possible. Hope you check out our other videos (even the non-Honda ones) and subscribe..:) Steve
probably the best review I've seen of it yet that isn't comparing it to a 1 ton and isn't biased about "traditional trucks". way to be! great review.
Bought a new 19 Sport AWD in Jan. First time pickup owner. Lovin' it. Still getting used to parking this big ole thing. (Came off a 2005 Ford Focus w/5 speed stick.) This Ridge is smooth as a Caddy.
One of the only car reviewers that doesn't bore you and makes you wanna watch the whole review. By far my favorite. Keep up the good work :)
This Guy is very informative and very professional 👍 I'm very impressed by this Truck
Thanks! It is a nice truck...that is for sure..:) Steve
If you consider "professional" being unbelievably corny, then yes, I suppose you're right.
For what most people use trucks for anyway this is a fine truck.
So true...:) Steve
we love the Cowboys
truth!
Mario Kart of
90% of truck owners don't tow. This is perfect and love the tailgate and under storage. So much practicality
And for those who do tow, the 5,000-pound tow rating will handle a trailer or small camper easier.
I bet you hear this often but I would not search nor click a review with this truck because I have no interest in it, but because it's YOU doing the review I know it's going to be worth watching! Keep up the good work :)
My favorite review on CZcams . It was fun watching. Thank you for doing this. Happy ridgeline owner to be.
This is one of the best vehicle reviews I've ever seen. Very informative (and entertaining!). Great truck, too!
Thanks so much! Glad you enjoy our work and hope you subscribe..:) Steve
This is the best dealer presentation of a vehicle I have seen thus far, very well done. I did not select the Honda though but instead picked the GMC Canyon diesel.
You're the best!! Loved watching this! I pick up my Ridgeline next week.... can't wait! You've added to the fun!! Thanks!! Best review of them all!
Glad you enjoy our work!!! I hope you can take me out for a fun spin in your new ride someday..:) Steve
love listening to this guy do car reviews, this truck is really for everyday people and I would get this if I had the money; wish you guys had more views. Did you guys film near national harbor?
Love this review! Highly entertaining and hugely informative. Thanks man!
This 'truck' is starting to grow on me. Need to go and look at one.
Probably the best CZcams car review video I've ever seen. Subscribed!
Thanks!!! We appreciate it!!! Hope you tell your friends about our channel...:) Steve
Owned my 2017 rtl-e since last year 16,000 miles and I love it, tows great . very good mileage, comfortable
Jim Becker whats your MPG?
Bought a 2017 back in June....after trading in my 06 Ridgeline. ABSOLUTELY LOVE IT!!!!
Very well made video...informative and entertaining.
If I was to buy a truck, you sold this one.
Thank you Steve!
You're very welcome..:) Steve

Entertaining review as always :-)
Have to say your reviews are really appreciated thank you.

Your videos are freaking hilarious and informative keep up the good work.
Thanks!!! I'll do my best..:) Steve
This guy is entertaining... Great review man!
Thanks! I really appreciate it..:) Steve
I bought a CR-V from your Fairfax location many moons(16 years worth) ago. I've been looking at getting a smaller truck for my next vehicle, and was piqued when I saw that the dealership I had bought the CR-V from had a Ridgeline video. Very well done video guys. Might look at the Ridgeline for the wilds of Tyson's Corner over the Taco.
Thanks for your previous purchase! We appreciate your business!! Anything we can do to help you in the future...just let us know..:) Steve
for a couple of years waiting to buy the 2017 Tacoma SPORT DCSB...But, but now IDK...
Great sales presentation, YOU SOLD ME.... Can't wait to drive one...
I'm in the same boat. I put a small deposit down on a Taco... But now I don't know.
Tacoma World, forum members are moaning and bitching about all the
problems they are having with the TACO 3gen, and getting the run around from
dealers.....R.L. 2gen seems better in all areas I am interested in..Going with
the RTL-E.. Exactly what I am looking for in practicality, engineering, fit and Finnish...
Everything about this Ridgeline is awesome but the front end... :-(.... Absolutely awesome review though! Love the thought that was put into that intro!!!
The intro was fun and I am glad you enjoyed it! Did you notice in the first scene I was whittling the big chunk of wood and in the very next scene it was just a tiny stick..?!?!?! A lot of fun lives in the details..:) Steve
My dad has a 2017 Ridgeline RTL-T in that same color combo that he bought new in 2017 now with 118k miles & has been reliable so far. Excellent vehicles as I would buy one for myself if I was shopping for a smaller truck.
You made it enjoyable to watch. Great info as well.
Thank you very much! I appreciate your kind words..:) Steve
Great video!
Nice truck.Great review!
Thanks for posting! Nice John Wayne impression BTW. =)
great review! excellently presented! good laughs too
Thanks a lot! I really appreciate it..:) Steve
Steve, I think I found your twins, he short and well spoken like you except you more better in acting, his name is Paul "ReDeYe" Chaloner, well known host for esport industry
I love this truck, perfect for weekend warrior
Presented it's functionality very well, kind of sold it to me. Only drawback is the look of that front end.
Still an awesome channel!
One of the best car reviews I've seen.
Thanks..:) Steve
awesome video man
Thanks! Hope you tell your friends to check it out as well..:) Steve
Yes right brother. Smart truck
Great review!
Thanks! I appreciate it..:) Steve
Steve, you are a talented car reviewer. You tell us about the cars while having fun doing it.
Awwwwwwwww Shucks........ Thank you for your kind words. The videos are a lot of work...but also a lot of fun. Hope you check out our other videos and tell your friends about us..:) Steve
I'm over the 1/2 ton over sized trucks that suck up gas and are hard to park and ready to try this new breed of truck as long as it will pull my 19' ski boat and come with a interior other than gray ( hate gray since the 80s) then I'm all in!
Great review
Thanks! Hope you tell your friends to check out our channel..:) Steve
I pick my 2018 up today.
I've owned the 2018 for about 5 months now. I absolutely love it. So comfortable. I have the RTL-E. This is the thrid Ridgeline I've owned. I started with a 2006-RTL with Nav., then a 2011-RTL with Nav., and now the 2018. The 2018 is the first new car I've ever owned. So far, I'm really happy with my purchase.
Your John Wayne impersonation was just perfect
Thanks..:) Steve
looks good better than the older 1s
Impressive! Honda did a great job.
I badly want a Ridgeline!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Is good
So the bed can hold something like 1,500lbs, right? The entire bed? Even overtop of the "trunk" portion. When he was jumping on the bed, you could see the trunk portion flexing. I'm concerned with what would happen if you loaded 1,500lb pallet of mulch bags in the bed and some of it was resting on top of that trunk. Would it support it without bending or breaking the trunk structure?
great review,,,,, its a truck, truck,,,,,for all you guys with little tiny,,blank ... its a truck..... sorry that you guys guys are so sad for your ego,,,,, iiiiiittttttttsssss a truck
Good review
I own a 2017 & having some trouble with transmission after a few time off road trip on the beach..
I wonder if the jeep pickup is gonna be as good? Honda made a great truck!
Fun review.
Excellent review. I think you covered every feature and also, RTL-E I believe that stands for elite. Just one thing...A cowboy needs 4 things. A good woman, a good horse, a good truck, and a sharp knife! That has to be the dullest knife on the planet.
Ha..! My knife may appear dull but did you catch the wood I'm carving shrinking to a twig between the shots at 00:10 and 00:21...!!!! Did ya?!? I bet NOT!!! I must have the sharpest knife on the planet!!! Thanks for the compliment and feedback..:) Steve
+srk7555 I noticed and it was a great touch!
love this truck!!!
damn! you so funny man! always makes me smile
Thanks!!! That's my job..:) Steve
You’re one funny guy. Most pick-up truck owners use their trucks for Drive-thru McDonalds meals. I use and totaly abuse my trucks. Very soon once my lease is uo on my 2017 Tundra Ridgeline will be bought immediately.
True also noobs have a hard time parking
Hey Are you going to do a Full Review For the Honda Pilot
Great job.
You need to do more reviews !
RWD joke was hilarious!!!
Thanks! I'm always curious as to how many people actually watch past our Rosenthal logo at the end of our videos... Glad ya did..:) Steve
How come you have not done the 2016 HONDA CIVIC COUPE review? Thanks man
are you planning to the 2017 sportage?
found one it's crashed from both sides it's 2017 with 4k miles TMU. clear title . should I buy or stay away
"Secret bed in the trunk more like it" lol
What trim line is the truck you're testing?
awesome review and great video . but what the off road review for this truck and the ground clearance...beside . i will subscribe to this channel just to watch more video's that dude makes
Glad you'll be joining us! We appreciate it..:) Steve
Steve is one of those great friends!!!
Thanks!!!! You can never have too many friends..:) Steve
good video
how fast does it go
At 6:41, you state the horsepower is up 50 from the previous edition. The 2014 Ridgeline was rated at 250 HP, so it's up 30. At 12:47, you state the "T" stands for "Tech". The "T" actually stands for "Touring" and the "E" stands for "Elite".
Thanks so much for the feedback! You're soooo right... I blew the H.P. numbers up just like I mixed my 2WD towing numbers up. If you listen closely you'll hear my 3500 lb. edit. I went into the backend and made the corrections you pointed out and really appreciate your help. Now be sure to subscribe so you can help me again in the future as needed..:) Steve
It's actually pretty cool.
Pretty impressed. Love the storage options. But $40k with the moon roof OUCH.
Maric check cars.com they always have good deals
for those questioning if Ridgeline is a truck... know your history, pick up truck was developed by Ford. And the purposes where somewhere to put items without damaging and getting interior dirty, sooo dump nuts.
I love how this Cowboy, no homo here.
cute as heck truck :3
I love my truck Honda Ridgeline
Congratulations!!!! Enjoy..:) Steve
Congrats next time buy a real truck
Actually this looks pretty nice for a pick up, still not my type of vehicle. I'd go with the CR-V Touring, this reminds me of the Pilot too much.
Definitely the Cadillac of pickup Trucks
this video is fucking rocking
nice intro
Well, the fuel economy is a lot better than the last gen model, the big problem here, is now GM knows your fuel economy numbers and sitting in the wings is GM's new 3.6 V6 with (DOD) and stop and go, add the 8 speed auto (probably the new 10 speed auto, sometime down the road), and you equal if not beat the Ridgeline number (not to mention the diesel option), plus the GM twin tow more than it does, so, with the Honda Ridgeline unibody vs the others traditional body on frame midsize pickups, you would think gas mileage should be better, think about it, you're giving up over 1,800 (2,700 GM - diesel) lbs towing ability, here’s the different gas mileages: 2017 Honda Ridgeline fwd (19 c / 26 h / 22 c) ----- 2017 Honda Ridgeline awd (18 c / 25 h / 21 c) ----- 2014 Honda Ridgeline awd (15 c / 21 h / 17 c) ----- 2017 Chevy Colorado 2wd-V6 (18 c / 25 h / 20 c) ----- 2017 Chevy Colorado 4wd-V6 (17 c / 24 h / 19 c) ----- 2017 Toyota Tacoma 2wd-V6 (19 c / 24 h / 21 c) ----- 2017 Toyota Tacoma 4wd-V6 (18 c / 23 h / 20 c), glad they improved the gas mileage vs the last gen, seriously the last gen got similar mileage to a full size Chevrolet Avalanche, note I said full size, note, it has Honda's variable cylinder management (VCM), ok, just $70 more than the last gen model, but remember the last gen had awd standard, this model come in fwd and awd is an option (@ $1,800), so, really the new gen Ridgeland cost 1,870 more than the last gen model, the Nissan Frontier (aka Nissan Navara) it gets an asterisk (*) for being the oldest models here and a new model already available in some overseas markets, it will be interesting to see how the market is after the new Ford Ranger and Jeep pickup comes out, could Ford also be planning a Ford Explorer Sport Trac (remember the 2nd Ford Sport Trac featured a four-wheel independent suspension), would also be kind of nice for GM, too use GMC kind of like a Hummer substitute, meaning GMC needs more pickups and SUVs, it's crazy how well Jeep and Land Rover are doing, too bad GM sold the Hummer name, GM should have really done a Holden UTE or the GMC Denali XT concept pickup for GMC, now that’s an unibody customers would get behind, setup properly, meaning rwd based, no fwd here, either way the new Ridgeline does what Honda design it too do, yes, there are midsize pickups that tow more, are better off road and etc, but the Honda isn’t look for that, thus, the Honda Ridgeline, still the GM twins are the best overall, the Ridgeline has the best ride and Toyota is the best off road (I think the new Colorado ZR2 has something to say about this), end of the day, it’s pickup, so it will do pickup like stuff
They need an off road package, and more aggressive styling, and it'd kill the market. Hondas run forever..
Rear slide glass standard
if I could afford the $32k for a base awd version, I would get one in a heartbeat
Is it 4x4?
nice review.. I just can't get over how ugly I think the front is!
wat do u say about price it doesn't see to compare with anything else
.... I like the dodge but they are also pricey but holy shit
The front of the new Ridgeline looks even less like a truck and more like a CRV.
Lol should of kept the character till the end
...how tall are you?
It would be perfect if they just made the front grill more aggressive
Imma Turkey they have optional front sport grill , go to Honda website or look on CZcams videos.
You and michael douglas should hook up for a duo!
I like Honda products very much but there is no way they can compete in the pickup truck segment with that. The big boys (Ford, Chevy/GMC, Ram, Toyota, Nissan) have made huge strides in efficiencies of manufacture, power train options, configurations and can pound Honda on pricing all day long.
Well, a year later this truck is selling quite well. I have NEVER driven or wanted to driven a pick up truck. I want this Ridgeline so badly because it has the SUV practicality, with the truck utilitarian part. It's great
This truck is far more comfortable and practical for most people. It can do anything including driving off road, except for rock crawling.
