@lovevh1 lol you must be the judge that gave us 4th in brass! i surely appreciate it. Maybe we should play out of tune and never play on the move like some other corps.
@JustisMacKenzie thanks so much for the music! I'm brass captain for my marching band & I'm so hyped to do this in brass arcs!!(if my director says its ok) lol
My favorite part is the release, believe it or not. That was brutal. The last chord makes your skin shake, then a sharp, clean release like that makes you explode.
I am still in high school, but I wan't to be in drum corps so badly, that I can't sleep. With great corps such as Crown and Madison, it only fuels me more to audition. Drum Corps is my new passion.
TURN DOWN YOUR SPEAKER! I REPEAT TURN DOWN YOUR SPEAKERS!!!! HEADPHONE USERS DO NOT USE THEM!!! Haha this is awesome. it gives me such chills. I couldn't imagine standing there listening to this.
@JustisMacKenzie I would argue that it's more accurately defined as an added minor second rather than a minor 9th, both because there is no 7th and it is not at the top of the chord.
Matt Harloff, "If your like that, Andy will kill you tomorrow".... Mr.Harloff I think every time I hear a Crown chord I die a little, but in a good way
@Euphmaster69 it got too loud after that....they go from cluster to Bb back to cluster then Bb, then cluster and he twists his hand to "turn up the volume." They then resolve to a Bb minor chord, the mellophones come in on the flat ninth, and then resolve.
Two of these hotlines will be combined as one in heaven and G Bugles shall they play for eternity and non who listen shall reciveth hearing damage for all eternity but they shall reciveth happiness. Amen.
@TMNoob3,that's the right attitude to have.In fact,I would say being obsessed with drum corps is almost necessary.The biggest piece of advice I can give you is for you to DECIDE that you won't be denied.Email Matt Harloff at Crown and tell him of your ambition and send him some recordings of yourself.Then, ask him for feedback on what you need to do AND DO IT!It's that simple.I can't tell you how many less talented people made Star of Indiana over those with more because they wouldn't be denied!
The only thing that sucks about doing drum corps during highschool, is going back to it. If you do drum corp during your highschool years, just don't be a douche bag when you come back. It's very hard to control, I would know haha. Best to keep quiet really.
@Lightrix13 Being innovative, like playing shows that make absolutely no sense? I mean really, what in the hell was "Constantly Risking Absurdity" anyway? Apparently it doesn't matter if a show makes sense, because it can still get above a 99 if it's clean. There's a hilarious youtube, Best 2010 DCI Moments. At 5:19 in that video, there's a view of the crowd during a big part in BD's show. The drum major is going nuts, while the crowd is sitting there, not knowing what to think. Good show.
@Lightrix13 funny story, I misplaced a couple of my fan favorite awards too. But who really cares what the fans think, they have no idea what they're talking about anyways right? Drink up that sarcasm... it always goes down smooth.
THE GRAININESS IS JUST THE MIC GETTING GOOSEBUMPS
0:00 oh, this is nice
1:28 that's pretty cool
1:47 WHAT IS HAPPENING
1:53 *spontaneous combustion occurs*
Oooohhh... I got the chills there!! Great sound! I'm a big fan!

HO MY GOD! It's incredible!!!!! (from Montreal....)
:o amazing. Gave me the chills.
Wow...shocking. Really fantastic. I was marching bari at Cadets...wish we'd had a chance to see each others show. Great sounds from you guys!
Dude. Awesome...
SO MUCH POWER!!!
this sound is the mighty hand of god coming to rid the earth of injustice
WOW!!
That was friggin awesome!!! I'm bleeding out my ears...butnits friggin awesome!!!
One of the cleanest cut offs I've ever heard.
I just love listening to loud resolution chords. Had a couple of horngasms during that.
...Awesome...
@lovevh1 lol you must be the judge that gave us 4th in brass! i surely appreciate it. Maybe we should play out of tune and never play on the move like some other corps.
holly crap... i hope i make this band when the next auditions come around
@JustisMacKenzie thanks so much for the music! I'm brass captain for my marching band & I'm so hyped to do this in brass arcs!!(if my director says its ok) lol
Finger of God man... Finger of God.
The sky over my house darkened at 1:53. Amazing.
Holy Cow. I have never seen this from them.
Holy shit.
Crowns hornline is the only one that makes the "loud-o-meter" hit the "holy shit" range
My favorite part is the release, believe it or not. That was brutal. The last chord makes your skin shake, then a sharp, clean release like that makes you explode.
VERY NICE!!! I like that 'turn up the volume' motion he did @ 1:46
eargasm of a life time
Crowngasm.... sweet shit.
Well, damn!
I am still in high school, but I wan't to be in drum corps so badly, that I can't sleep. With great corps such as Crown and Madison, it only fuels me more to audition.
Drum Corps is my new passion.
Haha Justis, awesome.
Holy. Shit. That. Was. Great.
@JustisMacKenzie Thank you my director loved it thumbs up ;)
.... THAT WAS FREAKIN' AWESOME. A TNT explosion can't wake my sister up, but yall did :)
wish i was there live. its completly different than hearing it on your computer. that was amazing.
Wowowowowowow
oh my FUCK. i just fell in love with my new favorite corps. That last sequence made me hold my breath to the end.
Oh yes. And one more thing. I'm afraid of Andy. Hell, I don't even know him!
the poor camera could not handle the awesomeness of this audio!
@Justis: Amen to that!
TURN DOWN YOUR SPEAKER! I REPEAT TURN DOWN YOUR SPEAKERS!!!! HEADPHONE USERS DO NOT USE THEM!!! Haha this is awesome. it gives me such chills. I couldn't imagine standing there listening to this.
oh my god
I'm going to ask my band director if we could play this it would be epic!!!
3 wood wind players have seen this video and have disliked it in spite of them never attaining this greatness
holy god......
OH MY GOD........................
@JustisMacKenzie
I would argue that it's more accurately defined as an added minor second rather than a minor 9th, both because there is no 7th and it is not at the top of the chord.
@apachedann1 im pretty sure if this was played on a G-Bugle the world would explode in awesomeness.
1:50 RIP Headphone-User
@MrBGold92 hahahaha made my day.
@Lightrix13 Yeah I agree. There were way to many iii chords in Crowns show last year!!
You guys can gladly melt my face off, just leave the ears!!
Matt Harloff, "If your like that, Andy will kill you tomorrow".... Mr.Harloff I think every time I hear a Crown chord I die a little, but in a good way
oh. my. god.
Actually, he's talking about Andy Ebert, the visual caption head (Andy had given us a talk about energy that day)
My face just flew off.
oh....my.....fucking.....god
It's called .. PICK A NOTE and play it in tune with a huge FAT sound.
@JustisMacKenzie
Thanks mate!
@MrJcass10
Lol Andy is the visual caption head. He was saying we're not loud enough.
Aaaaahahahaha......oh my..... Phenom.
oh fuck.... wasnt expecting that.
@JamesMichaelFox are overtones a bad thing? I know what they are. But is it bad in a hornline?
From 1:54 to 2:03 sounds like JUDGEMENT!!! Did not know a horn line could evoke FEAR!!
How did they get 4th place brass.
@Euphmaster69 it got too loud after that....they go from cluster to Bb back to cluster then Bb, then cluster and he twists his hand to "turn up the volume." They then resolve to a Bb minor chord, the mellophones come in on the flat ninth, and then resolve.
I don't even care that my speakers are about to be blown.
@lovevh1 Recording quality.
That was the most beasty thing ever, and that is the way it is.
I just had a corpsgasm.
Two of these hotlines will be combined as one in heaven and G Bugles shall they play for eternity and non who listen shall reciveth hearing damage for all eternity but they shall reciveth happiness. Amen.
Andy Cook, pretty well known DCI Brass Judge
They were pissed off that Bluecoats beat them the previous show (Akron), can you hear the angst?? Haha
@JustisMacKenzie
you have the sheet music?
Turn up that volume.
Holy SHIT that was loud at the end. I had to turn down my speakers for fear that I would damage them...
WHAT THE FUCK JUST HAPPENED. that's god's hornline right there
holy fucking shit.
oh yea and godly mello players.
@JustisMacKenzie lol. He told me he marched Cavies from 2000-2005.
thats why they got best brass :P
@PastNorwegianBlue Bb Minor added b9 in the mello then resolve down to Bb
I could have sworn I heard jungle animals screeching during the space chord.
@JustisMacKenzie At least yall have a trailer for scaffolding!
Fell off my chair...twice
What does he say at the end? Something about "If you are like that, you will kill..."
The little tiny hairs just stood up all over my body.
i have to change my pants now...
hoooooly shit
He said "if you play it like that, you will be called a bunch of pansies." or something closer. We had to redo it....
@Euphmaster69 Its a a piece of the show.
The only thing that sucks about doing drum corps during highschool, is going back to it. If you do drum corp during your highschool years, just don't be a douche bag when you come back. It's very hard to control, I would know haha. Best to keep quiet really.
i just busted my headphones........
@Lightrix13 Some play the overtones to make you think you're hearing them.
Outstanding comment!! LOL
@Lightrix13 Being innovative, like playing shows that make absolutely no sense? I mean really, what in the hell was "Constantly Risking Absurdity" anyway? Apparently it doesn't matter if a show makes sense, because it can still get above a 99 if it's clean.

got any music for this? please? lol
@Leroyrondo But you can play the pitches that would be overtones if your corps could play in tune this well. *nudge nudge*
@Lightrix13 funny story, I misplaced a couple of my fan favorite awards too. But who really cares what the fans think, they have no idea what they're talking about anyways right? Drink up that sarcasm... it always goes down smooth.
Would you be able to send me a copy of those chords? I've been trying to arrange it myself but cant work out one of the chords
Anybody want to be awesome and break down what each section is doing throughout this sequence? My band is thinking about using it next year
@JustisMacKenzie fact!
