    Everyone saying he shouldnt have gunned the engine and tore off has never had to bleed a cooling system of this nature. its common knowledge that gunning the engine a little more than normal and even a little erratic driving helps to dislodge air trapped. esp in the heater core. these systems can be a pain in the ass. so no, he wasnt doing anything wrong. and the stability trac engine light will appear on a chevy cruze if you look at it the wrong way. it probably was a simple misfire and yes that will trigger the stability trac code. traction control etc. how about thanking the man for showing everyone that doesnt know how to correctly bleed the system.

    What you should do is put the funnel on and add coolant till it's full ..then loosen the bleeder screw and add coolant till all the air and bubbles are out of the valve and it's a steady coolant drop then close off completely....now start the car put your heater on about fan setting 3 and let it run make sure your funnel in your coolant reservoir is full ..let the car warm up about 10 mins while it's warming squeeze you coolant hose and you will see bubble pop up from the funnel..keep squeezing you radiator hose untill you see no more bubbles ....shut off your car and close the coolant reservoir and you should be good

    You shouldn’t have to take that all the way out. You should just crack it open n let the bubbles come out

    is the hose coming the thermostat suppose to be cold or warm. i had the waterpump replaced and the thermostat housing replaced, its still over heating, im trying to bleed the air out now, idk if he did that or not. but i checked all the hoses and the hose by thermostat was cold to the touch. but it was solid like the other hoses. 2012 CC 1.4L turbo

    So do you add the coolant to the max line with the engine off and then unscrew the radiator screw to let the air out? Then screw it back in and start the car leaving the cap open on the reservoir? Then do it again to release the air again? So, twice? Then put the cap on after bleeding the second time?

      I repeat this process 5 to 6times. After starting the engine open up the plastic bolt at the side of the rad to bleed the air out.
      Make sure to get the engine coolant on a normal temperature and bleed the air out one more time.

    • @Pete391
      @Pete391 Před 2 lety +1

      If you have had your system open due to a leak or replacing a part....Best way is to drain all the coolant out....Remove that bleeder screw from top of radiator...Start filling it up slowly and when you see water coming out of that hole then replace the bleeder screw..

    I changed the Thermostat housing on my 2015 chevy cruze eco and it's still running hot with no heat from the vents. What could be wrong?

      Check radiator upper lower hose if they have same temperature after running the car for 30min. Maybe plugged radiator

      I realized I never Bled the coolant system (I don't work on cars) so I did, then stripped that plastic bleed air valve cap putting it back on (it was old and soft) and it's not all the way in... so 3 more days of waiting for a new one.

      you have air in the heater core and might have to do the bleed procedure by parking on a hill or with front wheels on ramps and running motor while you check coolant level and top off

    If anyone buys 50/50 mixed coolant you're ignorant you're paying just say $15 for a gallon of full strength and $12 for 50/50 I've even seen it opposite on the price 50/50s more but anyway that's half water half antifreeze by the full strength bring it home and mix it and you'll have 2 gallons for $15 instead of a gallon for 12 that don't make no sense whatsoever to buy 50/50
