    I totally agree that hyper should only be used for the landing stance, and leave behind forever using it for landing in the kicking leg

    • @johzuke1
      @johzuke1  Před 4 lety +6

      Yes! The terminology is evolving all the time as is seen to be the best. With this current system we can name every single trick and there are less tricks, that are named so that they cause confusion as long as you understand the basis of the terminology.
      If hyper would be concidered kick landed on the kicking leg, what would the trick that I called pop 360 hyper here be (the pop 360 landed on right leg)? Well, there would not be any way to name it with the old style terminology. Complete, hyper, mega and semi as landing stances make everything clearer (their names are a bit confusing but work once you get used to using them). They give everything more specificity.

    • @hecttorPKFR
      @hecttorPKFR Před 4 lety +6

      Now that we are here. Also the pop 360 should be called frontside 360 to avoid confusion with the transition. I think all kicks should be named after their take off stance so they can be done from diferent transitions. Instead of wrap 900 and cheat 900 both would be hyper 900 from diferent transitions

      Not necessarily easier but so different that you can learn them without knowing how to flip without any bad consequences. Cork shuriken is still a hard move to do properly which is why it's the last one here.

    I love the tutorial, and I’ve been definitely finding it useful- the only problem is that I’m struggling to the cart backside 720 shuriken, my mind is so drilled into trying to do the bound that I can’t stop cheat stepping, maybe even doing an incredibly small microstep before jumping. Any tips?

    the thing with shurikens is that when you have done backside 720 shurikens and swing 720 shurikens, they're easier to invert when you do them because u have gained the comfortableness and confidence to do them (i noticed that when i learned my first cork/full shurikens, cork shurikens are my current learning and they're getting better and better \(^-^)/)

    May I just say that Tricking Terminology is weird?
    I mean, most people refer to hyper (KICKING TERMS) as landing on the kicking leg. In FLIPPING TERMS, hyper means that you add 90 degrees of rotation landing on the right leg (assuming left side twister)
    Also, it’s TKT landings are confusing, but I guess everyone has their own beliefs.

    • @johzuke1
      @johzuke1  Před 4 lety +3

      Hyper used to be refered to landing on the kicking leg but it was changed years ago, because it didn't make much sense.

    • @johzuke1
      @johzuke1  Před 4 lety +4

      It doesn't matter what the origins are. The terminology is evolving all the time. In tricking there are no official terminology, but it's shaped by what makes sense and what doesn't.
      Aerial from left to left leg used to be called aerial hyper. Now it's aerial mega, because hyper is defined as I defined it in the video. Complete, hyper, mega and semi make perfect sense as landing stances even though they are weird terms. They are easily understood and make the terminology clearer and more versatile. For example if hyper would be landing on kicking leg what would the trick I called pop 360 hyper be? There is no old term for it.
