I’ve been watching this channel since day one of the 401, I will not watch one more episode you charlatan! I just UNSUBSCRIBED!
We have been getting Cook Unity for a few months and enjoy it. We do prefer to use the "Cooks Tips" or whatever they call it for reheating. Most of them are 350 for 12 minutes. At work, I use a toaster oven. Skip that microwave.
Wouldnt it have been a better idea to leave the engines off the wings instead of mounting them for better access to the firewalls so that hoses and all of the other stuff could be attached to the firewalls. Now the engines are in the way which will make it moree difficult to access the firewalls.
Simple fact. What makes an airplane fly ?

NTSB preliminary report released. Short version: no seal on right fuel cap. Water and debris in the fuel from that wing and engine. Pilot was in a hurry and didn’t sump the tanks after getting fuel.

But rebuild rescue doesn't cut corners. Quality work done by unqualified people. Someone lost their life because of a faulty seal on a fuel cap.

I watched from the start when it was less than 1000 subs when Sam came along honestly he looked done but the rescue of the 401 breathed a new life into him. I'm nearly 60 I ride bikes in New Zealand yep I'm a kiwi when I go I want it quick in clean I want to die with my boots on my undies clean. RIP Sam I thought you were a bit of a grump at the start but I softened lol.

So sorry for the news about Sam. His 401 donation to RR is the whole reason I started watching and subscribed to this channel. He will be sadly missed by all, even by those like me who never met him, but enjoyed him on the videos. There will always be a hole in the heart of RR, but keep going strong. I am at a loss for words. I simply can't believe what I've seen and heard. My heart is torn apart for the family and the RR Crew. Sam will be sorely missed. Gone too soon. This is the man who started the whole 401 Rescue by donating the plane.

Jason I was heartbroken when I saw the news story and immediately recognized the N 887CC and they said it was a fatal one . Then I heard that it was Sam Ganow who was flying it . I have flown myself and love it I love the looks of that BEAUTIFUL aircraft and cried for Sam , his wife , their entire family and the crew there at R. R. My heart , and prayers go out to all of you , please don't let this get you guys down . Carry on in Sam's memory !...!...!

Ever since I saw Sam I liked him from the very beginning, so humble and nice with positive energy. He was my favorite on the channel. We will all miss him.

I started watching this channel about 2 yrs ago. It's the first regularly watched channel for me. I got very interested in eventually buying my own plane as I was trying to get a Part 107A. This channel was very interesting to me and how these guys all interacted. Sam seemed to be a genuine guy. I thought it was super how they were all working to get Sam's plane back together for him. He will be missed by many of us it sounds.
I’m an airplane and helicopter pilot, instructor and examiner as well as an EASA part 66 engineer. I’m in aviation for 25 years now. You will do it. No doubt. You’re a kind and hardworking person and you deserve it. All the best to you guys
42 yrs in aviation and I would not have taken on this project, due to my experiences with frame off resto's of street trucks. Always something "else" biting ya in the a**. With a plane its even worse due to the FAA regs, inspections, and certs, unlike a street vehicle, if it runs and moves, its good to go. Vehicle engine overhaul is about 25% of what ya pay for one of yours. A set of Tires and Battery MAYBE cost $1200. Now the wiring and avionics, my specialty back when, is a minor nightmare, most of my trucks have a MAX of 85 general purpose circuits at the bulkhead connector. NOW the real work, I resto'd/fixed a 79 Dodge D-250 Pickup and project was 14 to 15 months, so I feel for ya. BUT the way your attacking this project is a complete resto and FAA won't object when its all done. GREAT JOB Jason.

I forgot about this channel and this project. It's been over a year, according to my watch history, since I have watched anything related to this project. Suddenly, YT has this video on my recommendation page. I'm still a subscriber, but this project has dragged on and on, and I got bored with the lack of real progress mixed with the commercialism of the channel. And now, when I do hear about it, thanks to the sappy YT algorithm, it is of course a video asking for more help with the project.
It's great that you have found a cult following, that will apparently pump untold amounts of dollars and views into your project. You have found companies looking to help out how they can, for a simple shout out or advert. You have figured out the algorithm to reality and the common people: have a sappy feel good story, beg for help, show 'progress' while you grow.
This project has dragged on long enough. It was fun early on, but just got too... boring, long winded, sappy. Others are correct, you can go buy a new aircraft for what you have into that skeleton already. Cars, boats, motorcycles, airplanes can (and should) be destroyed and recycled. This is no exception. I'm not sorry for unsubbing. Good luck.

A&P and electonics mechanic from Brazil, I was wondering a long time how this guy can do all this "cheap airplane" "budget recovery", "the cheapest on ebay" and etc... without cuting corners. In fact he cant airplanes ain't cheap😢. And in the most times ain't economecally salvegeble.

After the Cougar, I doubt the 401 will get past where it is at (at least by rebuild rescue). FAA will be digging through these videos, his pet project cost a life now.
@@brianmoore2508 We also saw the plane inspected and worked on by A&Ps, it had it's inspections. It was test flown. I didn't see a single thing that would have made me think, damn this plane is no good. Plus, what does the 401 have to do with this? Are you under the impression that it is the one that went down??

I just went back in the playlist and checked the first upload. Two years of the free abandoned airplane. That was how I found the channel. The most impressive thing is the dedication to complete the project. Awesome to see how far you have come.

I’ve really enjoyed the 401 videos this plane is what got me to subscribe to your channel. Honestly you guys have come a long way with this project and I’m looking forward to seeing the final product. A lot people do not understand how difficult it is to get the right parts not to mention the time you have to wait to receive said parts. Basically, this was a monumental undertaking but you’re head deep into this so you keep working and I’ll keep watching.

Jason, The knowledge gained from doing this build is irreplaceable. Economically this project never made sense, but somehow you and your sponsors got past that part. What a great project to get back in the air. The big twin Cessnas are a joy to fly. Once you have flown one, you never go back. I’m a Cessna 340 rescue owner. I’m under water in the job and probably should have scrapped it. It is one of the best flying light twins I have ever flown. I’m an older guy and this is probably my last plane. Not sorry I did it and you shouldn’t be either. 23,000 hours flown all over the world. I would not trade a minute of it for all the money in the world! Go Jason!!!

Just discovered via Blancolairo,s channel the sad news of Sam’s fatal accident , heart goes out to all at Rebuild Rescue along with Sam’s family, I hope the 401 gets to fly in his honour
That guy has insight into what happened from a pilots standpoint and what he knows of aircraft. But not so subtly he ripped rebuild rescue to shreds and accused them of being cowboys who are skirting the rules and are just an influencer channel with no thought of real world risk. One idiot said he was careful with his words. That isn’t true at all

Awesome update so well said what a great guy what an amazing team. I feel Love, Sincerity, honesty and character. I’ve watched this grow from like one guy in the cold a handful of tools trying to start an engine to a community and even more a family. I don’t see an airplane and $ signs I see the restoration of family and friends and a community of people who want to give and be apart of something bigger than themselves! 🥰
Thanks for the update guys. I was getting a little worried for a while because only small tasks were getting done and I thought maybe the focus was drifting away from the 401. With the project overview it's clear what a huge task it is and it's still great to see some of the other projects being completed too.
I knew from day one of the very first video you truly had no idea what you were getting into as an AP myself. But, I could tell your heart was in the right place and that convinced me to stick around. Your conviction is infectious and proves that in life when things get tough and people doubt you it means you need to double down, push through, and see it to the finish. That is what success is built on. While some of your earlier conceptions and mistakes were concerning you demonstrated that you are capable of learning which is something many in the starlight seem unable to do which is get over themselves. I'm glad I donated. You make the world a slightly better place in these dark times. You are representative of the spirit that built this country. I hope others follow your example.

I am always happy to watch your videos Jason. I live in Thailand and you and your team bring a little bit of much needed Americana back into my life. This crazy yet so adventurous project continues to inspire so many of us. I started watching your channel way back when you had just started with the 401 and it's been a joy to watch how your subscribers have grown since then. Maybe it's your attention to detail or how you are able to share your journey with us that comes across as honest, sincere and with a spirit of persistence and hard work or maybe it's your dedication to truly making a positive difference in other people's lives, but whatever it is it seems to me that what your offering us is a whole lot more than just restoring a bird destroyed airplane, but a window into the human spirit and what it's capable of when people come together under a common goal to achieve the impossible. I can hardly wait to see your face when the 401 finally makes it off the ground. Keep the faith friend! Let's Fly!!!

I would say that the 401 is probably the most followed project on CZcams. So happy to watch progress every Saturday. It's really mind boggling to see how much goes in to making an abandoned plane not just airworthy, but better than new.

Jason, were going to need full transparency.. you have your hand put and want public donations.. but you arent showing the actual full picture... and i'll start by saying that i want you to be successful and i want you to make money.. you should.. but when you have your hat out looking for donations.. we need the entire picture to see what's what.. show us the actual youtube adsense revenue since 401 conception.. then show all the sponsor revenue for the embedded ad spots.. then add up all the labor and tools/parts/service donations by all the shops, manufacturers, people and services... and then show us your employee costs.. your A&P/IAs .. joe.. camera man.. etc.. show us your fixed costs now.. hangars.. insurance.. other flips accounting since they all kind of intertwine.. you want this project funded by the viewers.. you want it treated like a non-profit.. but for profit.. that's fine.. give us full accounting on the whole enchilada.. full transparency.. not just donations and your actual receipts for a few parts.. lets see what the whole thing looks like.. and i'm not saying you aren't entitled to make money too.. even non-profits pay employee salaries.. the boss get a big chunk.. that's cool with me too.. so i'm not jabbing at you saying you are making a killing.. but you aren't telling the whole story while you have your hand out... give us full transparency on the entire project.. we need an accurate all encompassing balance sheet and P&L since the 1st 401 video.. then ask for donations.. and i encourage anyone looking to donate, demand this as well.. we all want you to succeed.. but we need to know where the project stands if you want our financial involvement.. you know i've been one of your biggest critics, but i'm also a fan of what you are doing.. i respect how far you have come.. how much you have learned.. and i think you will eventually be a decent aviator.. so make these records available.. @@AV8T0R401 Exactly, i'm sure he's co-mingled personal funds to make these other projects happen.. and i'm not like most people who might not be capable of seeing the entire "scope" of an operation like this.. most have no idea how much the adsense and paid sponsor spots can bring on a popular channel like this one.. and like you mentioned.. he has giveaways, boats, cars, etc... all of this leaves room to "fudge" numbers and hide the real picture.. and i fully believe when you are perpetually passing the collection plate, there has to be transparent accounting.. i don't care if he pays himself and the guys very well.. matter of fact.. they should.. but you can't just toss out some fantasy numbers while asking for people to make his project part of their family budget going forward.. because the channel features the other projects, they have to be included.. and most important.. the youtube and adsense revenue HAS to be disclosed and proven.. 700k subs.. long videos that get watched to the end more than not.. this channel should be bringing in a gold mine.. the statistics databases say he doesn't do that well with adsense.. but he should be.. so he needs to figure that out.. the paid sponsor spots he features can also pay quite a bit.. 52 of them a year.. they vary.. but he could easily see $10k+ and on some way way more.. on the videos that get a half million views.. those ads could pay $50k a week.. this is just speculation.. so if it's much less like he says.. SHOW US... so that's an easy half million a year.. most likely double or triple that.. i'd really like to see.. these videos get long playtimes.. and consistent views.. and all the companies donating parts and services.. th avionics alone is quite a haul.. interior/paint.. it adds up quick.. you have to assign numbers to that and disclose it.. lets not forget.. when this plane is completed.. it's going to be a valuable asset.. lets not forget.. it's been years now.. the only mission so far is joes teeth.. all this talk about missions but the only thing i see if Jason lining his portfolio with assets and paying for them with donations and youtube revenues.. and that's ok.. but if you are going to ask for support.. lets see ALL THE NUMBERS.. carve out the financials in regards to the channel since the 401 project started.. let see where we stand.. i can speculate as to the kind of monthly revenues the channel makes, but it can vary.. so we really need him to provide that.. same with the ad spots.. those will be substantial on a channel like this one.. merch sale.. etc... i don't care about his carlot or body shop or whatever.. and that's not our concern.. but i do care about how the financial picture shakes out on this channel and its projects.. he can de co-mingle the numbers.. call what he takes as a salary.. and provide an accurate balance sheet.. he's got to have an accountant working on this by now to keep track of assets.. he's smart enough to know to protect himself.. or at least he's learning to.. but he thinks most people will just watch a video like this one and accept his word at face value.. this video just shows me he doesn't want you to know the real numbers.. i can speculate as to why that is.. but really, i just want to see the numbers.. my guess is he will not want this thing being a true working non-profit because then those numbers will have to be made public.. then again.. if he can't calculate the range of that plane any better, maybe he really doesn't understand his financials.. he said it was going to make it coast to coast non-stop.. westbound at that.. lol.. right..
And why do you need any of that? You either believe in and trust in the man and the cause or you don't its pretty simple. Do you ask the Santa at every mall for his credentials and the financial spreadsheet of his company and all affiliated companies along with his 1096 for the previous five years or do you trust a person enough to give five bucks for something you believe in? Honestly you sound like a sociopath with control issues and an obsession with money likely because you are a poor little man with no control over the events of his own life due to lacking a spine and self agency. I hope you grow some balls, a brain and a heart one day.

Why did Sam not preflight check for water in the tanks? This is a very simple step every pilot does before taking off.
Oh boy, I just came to CZcams to check Saturday 's video and got to know about Sam. 😢 He will be dearly missed by all of us. My condolences from Brazil for all RR team and may him be an inspiration for you to keep going.
