- Okidogi was newly released in the teal mask DLC with the awesome ability Guard Dog. I built a team around exploiting this ability with Skill Swap Wyrdeer, another overlooked Pokemon that has a super interesting niche with some of the new Pokemon including Ogerpon!

This would work even better with Competitive emoleon, it gets the double spa boost instead of just 1

I went with Milotic instead so that I had a fire resistance since ogerpon hearthflame is so popular. But it's still weak to grass so tera fire is really the only way to resist both and empoleon could do that too...

Another neat interaction between Tera Ogrepon is that neutralizing gas can essentially reset its boost ability each time weezing leaves
That's a cool suggestion, like adding an eject button weezing...
Anything with Parting Shot could use Parting Shot to bring in Weezing. And if Weezing has an Eject Button....

Brilliant I’ve been using Stantler as it’s faster with choice scarf but this is brilliant 😁 Okidogi with guard dog has so much potential
I think Okidogi is legitimately good with a bulky team. The biggest issue is critical hits from Ogerpon's Ivy Cudgel that ignore the screens and stat changes that this team utilises
Something doing more work that the Wyrdeer here are all the nicknamessss loll! What takes you longer, planning movesets and raising the mons or crafting the names? Quality on both ends, good job. 👍👍

This is a bit unrelated but Okidogi having Poison Jab is HUGE actually. When these new legendaries come to GO (in like. However many years. rofl) there's a really good chance he'll get Poison Jab since iirc it's a level-up move - Guess what you use Poison for :)
Okidogi is gonna be an answer to Charm spam, as will Munkidori and Fezandipiti. I'm hyped :)

I tried using Intimidate Choice Scarf Landorus-T w Pure Power Skill Swap Medicham since Intimidate re-triggers when it’s swapped to a new mon, and Landorus-T with doubled attack sounded insane. Couldn’t get it to work tho :(

Saw something like this with Articuno Galar. It’s interesting that the mask mon’s ability becomes Embody Aspect instead of whatever it was prior.
Interesting strategy (as always), & it leads into an ability I've always thought they should've made for Pokemon. SKILL STEAL should take the opponent's ability, (leaving them "ability-less"--somewhat like NEUTRALIZING GAS) & giving it to the user. The ability returns to the opponent whenever SKILL SWAP is used and/or if the user swaps out/gets knocked out, or has the ability suppressed (with moves such as GASTRO ACID). If that's too OP, then SKILL STEAL could require contact to be made to activate, but it can't be suppressed by things such as the aforementioned NEUTRALIZING GAS or GASTRO ACID.
Sinistcha's signature move should've been named "Soul Steep" or whatever would work with tea puns and "steep" just for a less cheesy name.
On a similar note, Hospitality's trigger message is a bit wacky on other Pokémon since "the matcha tea" made by a Wyrdeer could be more crude than just their cud.
It is an odd attack name and even odder when skill swapped lol

Glad to read I'm not the only one that thinks "Matcha Gotcha" is a very cringy name. Same as those elemental moves Pikachu and Eevee got in the LG games. Or "Grassy Glide" 🤦🏻♂️
This would be awesome if one of those Pokémon had a move, it could use like earthquake or hyper voice that can hit two Pokémon on the same turn.

yea I like wyrdeer, i'm running one with annilape and grass oger, but with lunge, skill swap, light, screen and trick room. Super cool pokemon
Huh, I've been trying to find a way to put a Milotic and grass Ogerpon on a team (not together per se). This seems like a fun option to try.
I've been using teal mask life orb Ogrepon and Wyrdeer to proc defiant on ogre prior to tera since you spike shield and skill swap.
Finally a reason to evolve the shiny Stantler that’s been sitting in home
I always wondered why Defiant /Guard Dog just do +1 Atk. If it's +2 then maybe Intimidate won't be as prevalent.

I agree on okidogi guard dog, i am using him in vgc regulation E with bulk up and he perform very well especially with tera fire to punch fire ogerpon in the face

Is your Wyrdeer max IVs in all stats or say you got it with low speed to help with trick room?
You can breed Min speed Wyrdeer if you have a compatible Pokémon or a min-speed ditto. Wyrdeer on the team can’t be min speed since if you’re too slow you won’t get the skill swap off.
Does the team have a rental code?
maybe i should also get that Tera Dark on, i've Toxic Orb and Fling on my Guard Dog Okidogi, because why leave it up to chance with Toxic Chain? 😁

You could've skill swap your okidogi to heal with hospitality on your first fight.

Yes you can! I’ve used it before and it’s real fun when you can pull it off
Wait so can you use skill swap on your own sinnachete meaning you reuse both ability?
Hospitality only work once per match per pokemon regardless of how many times you skill swap or switch, but you can get each of your pokemon to make it work once by skill swapping

How did you get your Wyrdeer in a nest ball?
You can catch/breed stantler in scarlet and violet then transfer them to legends to evolve, then transfer back again. Apparently it remembers the ball!

Wyrdeer is in Scarlet and Violet?
You have to get it from Legends Arceus. I bred a Stantler in scarlet and violet to get the right stats and ability then transferred it to legends arceus to evolve it. Pretty annoying tbh

Bulky Okidogi is actually super fun, just watch out for crits as you set up because they will ignore intimidate drops, screens, and your bulk up defense boosts!

its not "incredible", its just an okay combo. you are essentially using a whole pokemon for one single attack up on okidogi. just use an actual support pokemon to do that.
