- With all the exciting new Pokemon in the Teal Mask DLC, little Dipplin might get overlooked. But I made an awesome team to use Dipplin to its full potential. Turns out Dipplin can be super strong!

I just realized Dipplin's ability synergizes with hustle Flapple
How ?

Imagine using Syrup Bomb on your own Contrary Serperior, basically giving it speed boost for 3 turns and letting it set up it's Sp. Atk with Leaf Storm.
As well as making leaf storm 100% accurate through supersweet syrup
could work on Enamorus too
And increases springtide storms accuracy
I saw someone use it on lurantis
The issue of course is missing, that evasion drop only effects the opponents after all

@10542256 there's an empty spot in the game's code where a dipplin evolution would be so it's almost certainly going to evolve in the next dlc
It's very cute that Syrup Bomb's speed drop animation is different from the typical stat drop animation.
Though it's also strange that the game still indicates recoil from Head Smash even when H-Arcanine doesn't receive any.
DLC giveth and DLC taketh away. 🤷
It's been a LONG time since the Pokémon Company released an evolutionary line that I've loved every form of. Applin, Flapple and Appletun were already perfect, but here's Dipplin one generation later that not only stands equally next to the others' designs, but it evolves again and looks even cooler!
Thank-you for demonstrating Eviolite working with Dipplin, foo. Here I was running Leftovers, thinking I'd have to wait for the next DLC, before I could use it. Changing that item immediately.

i still really like how it's like a candy apple and it's move uses it's candy syrup to attack

@@akiraotoishi5756for the team building part, i recommend you first research whats popular in the metagame your playing (pokemon and their movesets, items, evs, ivs and abilities), which strategies are popular, which pokemon are available, and then build your team around the metagame, forget about using favorites, you need to use whats good, if your favorite is eevee, sorry cause its not gonna cut it, then plan your team and test it on pokemon showdown (an online battle simulator) build your team there and play a lot of matches, so you can see what are your team's weaknesses and how to optimize everything, you may need to change held items, abilities, moves, tera types, evs, ivs and even the mons on your team, but its worth it. After you think ur team is perfect, build it on sv
Dipplin has been great so far. I've been using a team with a main core in Dipplin, A-Ninetales, Cryogonal and Weezing and been having a blast.

What about a Competitive/Defiant trickroom team? Hit your own Pokemon get +6 (special)attack after 3 turns and outspeed under trickroom. Could be pretty powerful.
Defiant and Competitive only activate if the opponent drops your stats so I don't think it would work unfortunately

I did some calcs for Dipplin, and with proper investment you can 1 hit kill variants of flutter mane and chien-po with gyro ball terra steel dipplin, so that’s my favorite now

1:19 Kurt (of PKHeX fame) as well as Mattyoukhana and Sibuna have confirmed there's an empty slot in the pokemon data immediately after Diplin. Other currently unused and empty data points to this being an evolution we'll get in DLC2, it seems the check for "can evolve" is done differently than simply looking if the species has an evolution method programmed in (arguably easier than apparently doing it manually)

that speed move with a wekness policy competitive milotic would be interesting
Competitive only works if the opponent drops your stats unfortunately but if I had used it on an enemy Nilotic it would get to +6 in 3 turns
I really don't understand why the evasion drop only works one time when intimidate still works every time :/
Just how they made the ability I guess, I could see a repeatable evasion drop being much more annoying than intimidate

Prankster hypnosis with evasion drops is very fun all I’m gonna say.
So I got inspired when you showed the Serebii page for Dipplin and I saw that it got Recycle.
Now, I fell in love with a particular Dedenne combo in Gen 7 that they patched out afterwards. It combined Defenne’s Cheek Pouch ability, a defensive pinch Berry (Apicot or Ganlon) and the move Recycle.
With this combination in addition with a move that reduced the Atk or Sp Atk of the opponent and sustain through Parabolic Charge, you could make Dedenne almost unkillable.
They unfortunately removed Recycle from Dedenne’s moveset when they swapped over to Gen 8, BUT I saw recently when I was transferring over that Dedenne gets Entrainment. . .
So I’m thinking what if you used Entrainment to replace a partner Pokémon’s ability WITH Cheek Pouch and use that same combo?
Dipplin and Appletun both coincidentally get access to Recycle and sustain moves like Recover and Giga Drain. Klefki would also work with its Draining Kiss
Unfortunately without eviolite I don't think Dipplin will be bulky enough to pull that off. I think it'll probably get an evolution similar to appletun though.
Now imagine it with a-ninetales aurora veil up
Also a-ninetales + milotic makes for a for a great bulky synergy duo while also being one of the most aesthetic pokemon team cores of all time. As we all know the prettier the pokemon design the more competitively viable it is so I predict this to win worlds 😂

I commented before that there should be an ability that lowers evasiveness/boosts accuracy & I got backlash for it. I love it when I'm proven right. 😂 Now hopefully they'll make new moves/ability that play on more game mechanics.

For the eviolite, knowing gamefreak, incompetence is so likely, that I’m betting more on accidental eviolite compatibility vs confirming an evolution yet.
There another # in the pkedex entries after it meaning its a 1 stage pokemon or a evolution for it

Bronzong was the only one with Trick Room which was why I chose it. Enamorus is a cool option tho!

So, one thing I did was use gravity alongside choice banded hustle hisuian lilagant to deal insane damage and bully most Pokémon even some frailer resists.

I also like using trapling dipplin in solos with infestation giga drain ptot3ct and recover,max hp max defense and you can trap and kill monsters like great tusk

Never thought of Syrup Bombing my own Pokémon for reverse speed control.
But my Dipplin is mixed support and attacker so if I wanted to try this I would need to reset my EVs.
I gotta admit, I am LOVING Weakness Policy in a non-Dynamax meta. It’s no longer a mindless instant win button on certain Pokémon(coal boy) and it’s actually balanced the way it was meant to be balanced! Amazing, really!

Unfortunately defiant only works when the opponent drops your stats. But maushold could be a cool partner!

What’s the stat build on Dipplin I would like to try it with some things
If you used Syrup Bomb on the same target on back to back turns, would their speed decreases stack and lose 2 stages a turn, or just replace the previous one?
Also, why does Super sweet Syrup only activate once per battle while Intimidate activates every time you switch in? Are they scared of making Pokemon less RNG?
It's ability, instead of working only once, should be updated to only be able to drop accuracy to -1. That way you can pivot it in and out, but not spam it
Have you tried dipplin paired with weakness policy Lash Out Tinglu? Its pretty powerful especially under trick room. You get a +2 boost and a 150 bp stab move
Have you tried it? IDG how it would work since the speed drop comes at the end of the turn after you've already used Lash Out right?

Man. Galarean articuno has defiant as well as empoleon. So dipplin can hit Galarean articuno with sticky syrup the same turn the bird drops trick room. ×4 special attack turn one. Next turn he is max special attack. And dipplin has dragon tail to force a switch!

How did it occur to y'all to try Eviolite on Dipplin given that neither Flapple nor Appletun evolve either?
Competitive/Defiant is gonna make Dipplin hurt. +2 to them on your switch in, plus up to +6 if they swap into or ally switch into Syrup bomb
Can't bronzong learn Gravity? I feel like having gravity somewhere on this team would be great for covering when dipplin isn't able to drop the evasion like with clear amulet or late game if it's been knocked out

You can also pair this with Milotic its like this Slap a weakness policy on milotic and you activate the weakness policy run a calm nature and spdef evs on Milotic to tank Syrup bomb better and procking weakness policy faster this can make milotic Fast sweeper how? Simple bring in another mon to set up trick room while Milotic protects this can make Milotic a threat
Its so infuriating that intimidate grants it every switch-in, but somehow it’s OP when Dipplin had evasion-dropping moves.

How would Fezandipiti do as a partner? Using Tail Slap with Loaded Dice for 4-5 chances of Toxic without missing sounds promising to me.
Had you tested if Supersweet Syrup could be proc again if it was swapped to an ally? And then when it was swapped back to Dipplin?
I haven't tested that yet, interesting theory

Just looked a little deeper into it. Yea. They also have hypnosis , would be around 200 special turn two if not 400 uninvested after a protect…That’s just silly. With pollen puff healing support lol, that’s just dumb now that I think more and more about it.

It did. The previous turn was Arcanine missing Head Smash, Milotic using Ice Beam, and then Bronzong using Psychic. You probably didn't realize Arcanine missed it's attack and when the video skips the move selection phase it looks like Arcanine attacked last.
THIS is the kind of strategy I am hoping to see out of the DLC. Downright erotic.

That takes a moveslot and a turn to activate. This ability works straight away so your fast mons are good to go at the beginning of turn 1
