- Twelve year old Vivian is counting the days to her first period. Armed with scant information (it's the 80's!) and the help of only her single dad and best male buddy, she finds navigating "the event" is way more complex and comedic than she ever expected.

I've got mine when I was 11, frankly I'm glad that it happened at home, it wasn't anything too dramatic.

I got my first period on Christmas Day at my grandma’s house and I was frantically searching for pads in my bag to avoid telling my grandma but eventually I texted her to come upstairs and she literally said “I have no idea what to do” and just drove me to Walgreens. I guess I forgot when you get older you don’t have a period.

I got mine when I was 9. I was in gym playing volleyball with all my friends and I looked down because someone dropped the ball and I saw blood on my pants. I was absolutely terrified and I told my gym teacher I was bleeding, I had absolutely no education whatsoever about periods and I literally thought my pee was infected. I went to the nurse and I told the nurse that I’m bleeding and she looked at me and said “Did your mom tell you anything about periods?” I was 9 so obviously I was confused and thought she meant punctuation. So for like 1 hour she explained what was happening to me because I was so convinced that my pee was infected. Then after maybe 2 hours it was lunchtime and my teacher came to check on me because she was wondering why I was at the nurse for so long or something and I just started crying, I cried all the way through music class. When I got home my mom literally talked to me forever but I was STILL in denial about this and thought my pee was infected until 3 days later and realized that my mom and the nurse was right, If your wondering why I remember this so vividly it’s because I’m on 13 that was 4 years ago. You really don’t have to read this whole thing I just wrote it because why not :)

I got mine at 4th grade, I was at school and I felt somthing soft, I went to use the bathroom and I thought I was pregnant and I had miscarriage so I went to my teacher and said I was pregnant😂😂😂 she was like “What!?” Then I told her what happened she laughed so hard! And she told me I am ovulating🫣 she explained to me and at the end of what she was saying she said “in a few weeks or months you will get ur period, I WAS LITERALLY SCREAMING IN THE HALLWAY. I got my first period 3-4 months ago, so here’s the story, I was at school and noticed that my underwear felt weird, but i didn’t care, so after school I needed to use the washroom, and I saw with my own eyes but I thought I pooped myself, I went to change it but then my mom came and saw my underwear I left in the bathroom, she saw and told me I got it because it was on front, I’m currently on it again, and I can relate to this! It feels like a big diaper and the cramps are absolutely terrible! 😣🤣

I got mine 2 years ago, and i was just sleeping late in the morning because it was the weekend, and then in the morning i checked the bed, and it was blood everywhere, and my Pj pants were also full with blood, and i rushed to the bathroom in the house, and when my mother came i was telling her what was going on, and she said i had gotten my period, and then i asked her what it was, and she said, its something girls/women gets each month.

I got my first period 2 days after I turned 13 and I thought I was gonna faint I wasn’t expecting it and I called my sister because she was the person physically closest to me and I told her to go get my mom and she screamed “SHE GOT HER PERIOD!!” and I was so embarrassed because I knew my dad heard her but now I’m a little bit more at ease with my period!

I got my first period around new years new so here’s the story,so the day before I was chilling happily in my bed u til my mum came in “it’s time for bed” so I put my phone away and fell asleep *morning* I wake up and go to the toilet and when I’m pulling my underwear up I see a blood stain so I call my mum and she was horrified AND THEY WERE MY FAVE PAIR OF UNDIES 😭 but then she goes the shop and buys pads and my dad had to babysit me for the whole day until my mum came home from work..

I got my first period during the first of July 2023 when I was 11. I woke up that morning and went to use the bathroom when I wiped there was blood on it. I was not scared or confused but I wasn’t sure if I Acually had it or not. So I called my mom who was away on a trip and I told her about it she told me that if I actually did I was not allowed to go to the pool that day unless I had a tampon which I was to young to Use. So my mom texted my step mom to give me some pointers and tips also and physically show me how to use a pad. She told me about cramps bloating and sweet cravings. She told me that this was a new step to women hood and how I’d soon enough hit puberty because I was a pre teen. But yeah I’m 12 now and I know there’s nothing to feel embarrassed about it’s a natural thing all girls can relate, speaking of which me and my friends have girl talks on that specific topic and it’s nice having someone besides parents to talk to it about cause there more close to age. good luck girls out there who have got it and if you haven’t don’t feel scared but also don’t wish for it to come it’s annoying and painful enjoy your childhood you’ll appreciate not having it trust me :)))

I got my period during the summer before 5th grade. Me and my family were on a 2 day road trip. We were just heading to my aunts house for a couple hours. My cousin is a year younger than me so she didn't have her period and didn't really know anything about them. I went to the bathroom and absolutely freaked out. Personally I thought I was dying. I cried and screamed for my mom. She ran in and comforted me. She went to the store got me new underwear and some pads. I remember thinking that night "This sucks. Now I gotta deal with this every month?" Now I get the worse cramps, but its not scary anymore just hurts like hell! :D

My first period was on November 04 2022. It wasn’t too cool. I got it on a Friday and I had school that day. I was about to take a shower in the morning and I took my clothes off and saw there was a bunch of blood. I was prepared but it still scared me. Every girl in my family has heavy flows so my first period I went through almost a full pack of pads😭

My second one came and I used toilet paper again. I was abt to use the shower, and when I was taking my shorts off my mom walked in without warning, and she was my shorts and she walked in. I’m horrified still to this day bc I wasn’t ready to tell her. 🙁
I got my period in November of 2023 when i was 11 i am now 12, heres the story. So one night i was in the bathroom when i had noticed i had gotten it. I thought that i didnt have to put an overnight pad on so i didnt. When i woke up the next morning i saw my sheets and shorts both had blood on them. I didnt know what to do so i got up stood by my door for like 15 minutes debating on whether or not to call for my mom or have someone get her me. A few minutes later my sister came up and i asked her to get my for me so she just yelled for her. Then my mom came up and helped me with all the blah blah blah. I got my period on July 1st 2023 and I was 11 years old so here’s the story. So basically I was at my aunts house and I was waking up and my lower stomach hurt. So I got to the bathroom cuz I had to twinkle. And then I noticed this red and brown stuff on my undies and I remember my friend telling me when she first got it looked like u pooped yourself but in the front. So I just ignored it. Btw I was dying to get my period at the time and I was trying hacks to get it. DON’T ASK. Then I my mom,aunt,and my sister were in the kitchen all of the boys left to do something THANK GOD. So I had the guts to tell my mom and then my mom told everybody so ya that’s great… Now I have like a love hate relationship with my period💅🏻

That's so okay! It took me over 15 years to finally start wearing tampons. Also, if you don't feel like using pads, there are also cups, discs, and even underwear! So many options!

So i got mine at 11 years of age i was at my grandparents house i was happily talking to my
Grandma then i got a bit of cramps and felt something wet down there and i went to wash room
And i saw a lot of blood i knew that I got my period i whispered to my grandma about that
And then she gave me a pad ❤ thats it 😊
Anyway here's a brownie recipe.
Ingredients:
-1 cup unsalted butter
-2 cups granulated sugar
-4 large eggs
-1 teaspoon vanilla extract
-1/2 cup all-purpose flour
-1/2 cup cocoa powder
-1/4 teaspoon salt
-1 cup chopped nuts or chocolate chips (optional)
Instructions:
1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°€) and grease a baking pan
2. Melt 1 cup of butter, mix with 2 cups of sugar.
3. Add 4 eggs and 1 tsp vanilla; mix well.
4. Sift in 1/2 cup of flour, 1/2 cup of cocoa, and 1/4 tsp salt; stir.
5. Optional: Add 1 cup of nuts or chocolate chips.
6. Pour into the pan, bake for 25-30 mins.
7. Cool completely, cut into squares, and enjoy your brownies!

dont worry! remember to always sit with ur back straight and legs together or crossed. always have a sweater to tie around ur waist, have deodorant, heating pad for cramps, take hot showers, avoid cold when you have cramps, ALWAYS fold up the toilet paper before throwing it, and in case your pad is too loud when opening it in a public bathroom, have it already opened beforehand, flush or turn on the sink. ur ok, you got this :) coming from a fellow girl
