Shoulda had different grunt ranks fighting jackal minors, majors and skirmishes. Each battle was pretty one sided
It's cool to see the Halo Reach-style Jackals return. Also spotted a few of them melee attacking, as well as rotating their shields and firing suppression style out of the upper notch. They've learned some new tricks.
Sadly it is written in the lore. Those brutish Jackals were all killed off during the Battle of Reach. Seems they were a minority of the species and how they were used. It was the end of them.
Though at the same time. Surprising that the Jackals would allow such a thing. Outside of the other species. Jackals are pretty independent and only work if they are paid.

I think you refer to the Skirmishers.
They are still alive. One appeared in Halo Escalations and the other called Shipmistress Chol Von, she had a temporary alliance with the Sangheili Cult named Servants of Abiding Truth, untill she tried to steal a ship which the cult wanted. Her current whereabouts are unkown.
@@Qardo idk where people started thinking that. the T'vaoan are well alive, we dont see them anymore because they actually recognized their treatment from the covenant on Reach and got the hell out of doge. The "skirmishers" in Infinite are female Ruuthians who may be, lore wise, imitating the look of skirmishers for fear effect. or it may just be design copying, crunch wise.
The funny thing is that in war that grunts and jackals were kind of racist against each other that's what started the whole grunt rebellion cuz jackal's poisoned the air for grunts
Apparently, the Grunts reproduced so fast, the Jackals were forced to pack up and move, which disrupted their birthing season and caused a lot of stillbirths. That's why the Jackals poisoned their special drug gas, which sterilized the Grunts.

What I like to do is spawn 31 random marines on Forest and a single Jega with Magic Sight, then kick back and watch as he single handedly reenacts “The Predator”.
the grunt rebellion should be next but on a big scale with all covenant members with grunts on ghosts
I never knew I needed this in my life until now. I was cheering for the grunts BTW.
My Boyz did good...there's a reason Harvest fell so quick...the Kig-yar and their god tier snipers lol...would love if someone remade halo 2 but all enemies where legendary jackal snipers....would be the hardest game ever imo.

Would be nice if they invested time into dialogue for the enemies facing each other. Instead of assuming everything that shoots at them is 117.
Makes me wish Yapyap the Destroyer was canon.
Seeing a grunt shoot a charged plasma pistol shot and not even being able to disable the Jackel's shield just makes me sad. I feel they should have just replaced the plasma pistol with a new banished weapon rather than just including the plasma pistol for the sake of nostalgia but nerfing it so hard that its useless.

Ok here a Lil lore for the battle (it stupid) they are fighting over tower comm rights and the brutes and elites are just watching to see the strong survive or to get a couple of laughs
I actually find jackals harder to kill than brutes

The fact that that plasma did NOT kill is one of MANY reasons why Infinite was a massive disappointment
One thing I kind of hate about halo infinite is that they gave grunts and jackals melee attacks. Now you can't just go up to them and melee them like in halo 2. And also if your playing on legendary and your very very low on health all a grunt or jackal needs to do is melee you once and your dead. Smh
