@KeyIssues do you believe in the principle that Jedi generally grow in power with each era? We know this is true for Sith via rule of 2, but I have always viewed it as an unwritten rule that each generation surpasses the past, with outliers ofc
@@mcsquigg37 Ummmmm I don't think so since Porter still clears most of the highest tier Jedi of generations after his. I think it really just comes down to who joins the Jedi with the highest potential and who makes the most of that potential. I would say as a whole maybe? Until they started receding from the galaxy after The High Republic. Which is why they were weaker overall after the end of The High Republic era.

@@mcsquigg37 the rule of two is weird I’m still not exactly sure how it works but each generation would be stronger as the apprentice always has to surpass the master. It’s not that way for the Jedi. Also easier to have two Uber powerful Sith than Jedi always at a similar level simply due to the number of Jedi who exist imo.
There are exceptions like Mace Windu and Anakin, but every other Jedi who have human life spans are no where near Sidious… but again it comes down to potential. The new Sith master will ALWAYS look for the apprentice with the highest possible potential. If a more powerful prospect shows up, they have no problem killing and replacing their current apprentice.
Jedi on the whole might have 5 Jedi with similar potential to the current two Sith. For example, Maul’s potential was more than his mother who rivaled Sidious and Windu. Dooku had the most potential of his generation. Anakin had the most potential ever.
I think Anakin, Luke, and Ben all have roughly equal potential, but Luke was the one who spent the longest as a light side user to refine and develop said potential.

I think Anakin clearly has the biggest potential given what happened in mortis. I dont either Luke or Ben are able to control the representation of light and darkness.

Idk if Ahsoka, Cere, Rey and Ben are really stronger than people like Windu. Rey and Ben have the potential and the raw power, but I don’t think they have the skill, technique, and control. I think that all of the 4 I mentioned are in the top 10, but they are higher than I would put them.
the problem is that they have the feats and statements that put them above mace. Mostly the scaling they ALL have to Vader while Windu doesnt even scale to vader at all😭
at most you could say Cere MIGHT not scale as much but she still did decent against vader while windu wouldn’t

I think a lot of Star Wars fans need to realize is just because you don’t like a character does not mean they’re not strong i love Plo and and Rahm Kota but i know that they would be a smudge on the floor if they were to face anyone in this list even the ones i dislike

This was a great top 10 video. I appreciated your efforts to include the High Republic and back up all your claims with actual source material. There were definitely some spicy takes on this list, but overall, I agree with most of it. My biggest dissagrements are with your placement of Cere and Ahsoka. Windu and Yoda both dueled Palpatine and came out on top, neither Cere nor Ashoka accomplished that feat. Ashoka barely held off the Emperor in the World between Worlds, and if Filoni was saying that Ashoka was more powerful than Yoda during Rebels, that was probably only due to Yoda's extreme age. Unless the Ashoka show says otherwise peak Yoda is clearly more powerful than Ashoka. We never got to see Mace Windu fight Vader, but there is no reason he wouldn't have done just as well, if not better, than Cere. My take on the Cere vs Vader duel is that Vader spent most of the duel not fully trying, but then when he stopped playing with Cere, she never stood a chance. I don't think she actually came that close to beating him. Also, if you are going to put her so high on the list for "almost" killing Vader then you have to include Kirak Infil'a who absolutely wrecked Vader's face. Sure Vader wasn't as strong at the time (and didn't even have a lightsaber,) but the comics showed him to be completely outclassed by Master Infil'a. Vader was only able to kill him by making Infil'a choose between trying to save innocents or defend himself. Aside from the duel with Vader, Cere really doesn't have other feats that put her on par with the others on the list. I personally don't think she would make my list for (The 10 Most Powerful Jedi of All Time), but otherwise, I think there is a good argument for everyone else to be on the list (even if I might re-arrange it) and you definitely got the #1 spot right (which is the most important one anyway) so good job.
This might be a fun video to update in the future as more canon content is released. I will watch it.
1. That Vader is stronger than the Sidious that Yoda and Mace fought. Sidious and Vader both become way more powerful than the Clone War era Jedi.
2. Vader hadn't surpassed Anakin when he fought Kirak. Vader was also not used to his suit yet.

Nice list I agree with basically every spot on the list and I just want to say thank you for finally actually acknowledging Luke’s strength as the equal in everything to Anakin in potential as nobody ever even mentions that when talking about Luke and just say he’s weak because Vader was holding back and conflicted but to be fair look didn’t want to kill his father in that duel but anyways people are like he’s weak because he’s weaker than he is in Legends.

Id have said theres a possiblilty for Kenobi to be in here. His feats are so impressive when it comes to duelling that he could have squeezed on there. Including guiding the most powerful jedi ever in Luke too.
His best feats are taking down nerfed anakin, maul, and a nerfed grevious. He doesn’t compare to a single character on this list.

@@DrUmar-gu4kp Nerfed Anakin? He's beaten Anakin twice. Maul he kills when he's an old man. And Grevious has killed many Jedi so I wouldn't call him nerfed either especially when obi wan lost his lightsaber during the fight vs grievous. Don't discredit these feats because he's still beaten them.
@@thevision645 he only read his duels against anakin since they fought practically every day in spars surre it isn’t the same thing but obi wan can easily counter most of anakins basic attacks since he would learn how to in sparring contests if your talking about Ben kenobi sure I think you can make an argument for him but not during or after he beats a heavily conflicted anakin who’s he fought before and knows what to do

This video was great, loved the editing and I loved how you used canon sources such as comics, novels and statements to help back up your claims, also I'm so happy to finally see some Ben, Cere, Ahsoka and Rey get the representation and respect they deserve. So often in the fandom those characters (Ben and Rey especially) are downplayed just because, when in reality they're extremely powerful. Also love the fact you included High Republic stuff, as a big fan of the High Republic its nice to see it brought up in a video. You just earnt a subscriber

I think I only disagree with where Mace and Yoda are on the list. Cere Junda might have almost defeated Vader, it doesn't mean that Mace couldn't have beat him. Mace defeated Palpatine who was even at that time much stronger than Vader. I do like that you pointed out that Mace could use the dark side of the force against Palpatine so it doesn't necessarily mean that he could beat someone like Yoda who doesn't use the dark side. Since Mace did beat Palpatine, pretty much on his own since the others died almost immediately, I think he should be above Rey and Ben since they both needed to be there to beat Palpatine, who also might not have been at his peak power at that point with being previously thrown into a death star beam. Yoda should be above Mace since he, in general, is just a stronger Jedi, as stated in a number of texts. But overall I agree with the rest of your points even if they initially surprised me. Loved the logic on a lot of them.

@@aaronrodriguez9376 IMO the Son would be first as he’s literally the God of the Darkside, probably Palpatine, then Vader. Palpatine is strong but there’s no way he’s above a primordial being (at least in canon).

No way I see Dooku beating Bane or Vader, and Dooku needed helped to take down Maul and Talzin from Grievous and Sidious, but lost to Maul in a 2v1 with Grievous earlier in the same comic (a canon comic called the ‘Son of Dathomir’) so there’s no way I’m buying Dooku over Maul when he couldn’t even beat him tag teamed with GG, let alone him being above Bane and Vader. Where is this canon list ? I’d love to see it.

I feel like Windu and yoda should be 6 and 5 respectively. While Cere being a match for Vader is impressive Windu was able to actually beat Sidious. And given that Yoda scales higher than Windu due to not being in his prime during clone wars he also likely would’ve been able to beat Sidious in his prime. Ashoka is strong but I don’t see her ever being able to beat Sidious. At the very least I feel like Yoda should rank higher than Ashoka if we’re going by Yoda’s prime.
Vader is stronger than Yoda in a New Hope and by the time Ashoka fought him , Vader was amped, so he would at least scale to Prime Yoda

A solid list all around mate. The one thing I would have changed wouldn’t be to have removed a character but to have added one. I personally think Loden Greatstorm from the High Republic should have been on this list either at number 10 himself or tied with Avar Kriss for the numerical ranking since they’re so close in power. My main argument for him is the comparison between Loden and Bell’s feat of holding back Lourna Dee’s starship during The Rising Storm novel and Avar’s similar feat in the comics against the same starship. Loden manages to nearly pulls back Dee’s ship despite the fact that he had been being tortured for over a year by the Nihil until the Leveler interfered and killed him while Avar at a normal level of power had failed to replicate the feat. Loden did have his apprentice Bell’s assistance during his showing but I’m not sure how much of an assist that was considering that Bell’s power was dwarfed by his masters. Either way it was a good list and I’m glad to see Jedi of the High Republic at all on these kinds of lists as I don’t see the era get any sort of power scaling. My comment isn’t one of criticism but rather just another idea to add to the list.

He gave Luke reason and purpose after letting Vader strike him down the third time they went at it.

He killed Maul Twice.
He killed General Grievous.
He protected Luke on Tatooine.
He protected Leia in “Kenobi”

@@Fulcrum-27 Kenobi was resilient and never gave up on perfecting himself, but forcewise he was much weaker than any jedi mentioned here and others not mentioned. He's greatest achievement, besides the fight with a conflicted and arrogant Anakin, was defeating Grievous, a machine in most accounts that almost any old republic jedi would have defeated easily or with just a little effort. And it's known he only defeated Grievous because he delivered himself completely to the force and this was, in some ways, his prize bone. I do love Kenobi, btw. Unfortunately he's timeline is during the clone wars and all Jedi dogma and blindness. He would be a much better jedi in the High Republic without his self imposed constrains due to his blind loyalty to an outdated jedi order that crumbled like a sand castle to the power of two sith. Cheers.

Ahsokas placement (above Yoda) i do not agree, but great vídeo. Realy well made. And people do not understand Reys power. She is not a good character, but she is a Palpatine and, because of it and the dyad, she is strong.
Doesn't matter i like more a great story with less good character than good character with à trash story
Ahsoka even loses twice to Baylan Skoll, a master who seemingly fled the Temple when ani/vader stormed it after order 66. She's a bit over rated, although I do like her character - mostly in the clone wars and much less in the Mandalorian and Ahsoka series, as unfortunately she's very poorly written and becomes a shallow character that she never was during the clone wars animations where she was even just a kid (15-17 yo). Also she's not a Jedi, as she left the order as Padowan never to return, but that's just my pov.

Sure his raw Force power is mediocre at best, but -thinking about power as in who wins in a 1v1 battle to the death.
Kenobi annihilates basically anyone who isn't Top 10. His record of feats is absolutely incredible.
He won a 2v1 duel against Savage oppress and Darth maul.
Later killed maul in THREE moves
Beat Darth vader twice kicked his ass and chopped him up.
He outsmarts his opponents with his unrivaled fight iq , he don't need a huge midoclorian count to be considered "powerful"

The Vader obi wan fought was 6 times weaker than the one ahsoka fought. As that Vader was conflicted, non prime, surprised, and over confident. On top of that the Vader ahsoka fought was being buffed by a dark side nexus. This means ahsoka was slightly stronger.

While I disagree with Rey and Ben on here, I'm with you on everyone else, though I probably would have ranked them a bit differently.

Why is episode four Obi-Wan Kenobi not on this list😢 he directly skills to Darth Vader so he’s on the same level of Ahsoka and episode six Luke Skywalker.
In Legends he does, but not in canon. From a Certain Point of View states he was being destroyed by a holding back Vader who wanted to see how much weaker Kenobi had become.
Obi-Wan in canon is just not that powerful. He’s a great character no doubt but he’s never really been one of the top dogs in Force power

Ahsoka was beaten by Skoll in her series (which for me are crap). Skoll was affraid of Anakin/vader as heck and all indicates he fled the temple while Ani stormed it. So being ranked higher than anakin is pure fantasy. Cere is most likely a better and more complete Jedi (or force wielder, as Ahsoka is no Jedi as she left the order as a Padowan never to return), but at the same time we really don't know how much Vader played with her until he got serious and impaled her after realizing she was more powerful than he first expected.

@@MasterOfTheElements Luke "defeated" Ben with just an illusion (projecting himself trough the galaxy, something which would kill most jedi, even masters, right on spot if they tried to do the trick). If that is not a show of power I guess I need to be reeducated... (Yeah, I hate the sequels but for now it's what we've got - outside this kind of "exercises" I would literally ignore all of those 3 episodes, Disney canon is a crap maybe except for Jedi Fallen order and Survivor, but those are video games and a bit out of Disney know how so they have to play with what they got mainly when such mean a lot of money to Disney pockets; I would also like to mention KOTOR, but Disney killed it as canon - another stupid mistake of small minds).

I had Rey as the strongest because of the amp she got to beat Sidious.
But I like the fact Luke is the strongest with Full Potential Anakin who could be the strongest as well.
Rey would be the strongest considering the amp, but as it was temporary, I had her at normal level for this video. I’m sure she will be top 3 when her new movie comes out.

This is the most subjective list I've ever seen, and any true Star Wars fans who has studied the lore and canon will tell you that this list's order is absolutely absurd. Ahsoka more powerful than Anakin, Mace, AND Yoda??? GTFOH. Stop with that BS right there. You're ignorant or lying to yourself if you agree with this clown.
Mace and yoda are definitly above cere and ahsoka. Especially Yoda with his 900 year old knowledge. Also Ahsoka should be lower than cere. And don't even get me started on rey palpatine here. Her being higher than any previous jedi is a joke. She should be the one opening that list, not Avar. Oh, and ahsoka for sure hasn't surpassed vader. He didn;t toy with her, that's for sure, and it can be seen in their pretty intense duel that vader constantly has the upper hand over his former student. Ahsoka is able to hit him only because he was concentrating on retrieving the sith holocron from ezra and kanan. And she wasn't able to "briefly battle darth sidious", she was literally fighting for her life while sidious laughed at her. Oh, and reverting back to cere for a bit. Those falling, burning bookcases could and have damaged vader. If you'll play that scene one more time you can hear that vader's respirator sound has changed. The same respirator sound could be heard in ep. 6 after vader was suverely damaged by emperor's lightning.
I like the list a lot, but I would have included Plo Koon to be honest

@@wkdxcrimex he's pretty much more near to Cere at the end, mainly after working together with another force sensitive, Merrin, and by tapping to the Dark Side. If he can tap on it in a similar way Windu does, he surely will gain a place on the top ten. Don't forget he defeated Dagan, a high republic Jedi Master turned dark jedi, surpassing him where he was more powerful, his mind tricks; he also defeated a Gendai also beaten by Dagan to whom he says Cal is his pair as a Jedi. 23 yo, not yet on his prime, and promising even to get on the top 5 of this list, but ofc we need to wait on which direction the next game will turn to.

I think Yoda is more powerful than Windu but Mace would maybe be the better fighter. But I do believe that Yoda is the most powerful jedi during the Clone Wars.
I think all your explanations are great. My only thought is that multiple times you mentioned Anakin, Mace, and Yoda are argued about which is stronger, yet Yoda doesn't make the list at all. While Mace may have beaten Sidious, though i don't necessarily believe sidious fought Mace 100% as he was a master tactician working to bring Anakin to the Dark, Yoda was also able to go toe to toe with him at over 800 years old. I'm not 100% sure where on the list I'd put him, but i think Yoda deserves a spot, even if only number 10

May just be my personal bias against Luke, as I see him as a crybaby who gave up on the Force just because one of his students turned to the dark side, but I don't think he's nearly as powerful as people seem to think. If the original Jedi Order gave up on the Force when their students turned to the dark side, they would've dissolved during the time of Xendor, 20,000+ years before even the prequel movies. Although, I will admit most of my knowledge past the original trilogy is very limited.
