My thought is that if Nintendo was planning to announce a new console soon and was holding an odyssey follow up for it, they should’ve held totk too. Just like how the switch had the 1-2 punch of botw and odyssey, doing the same on the follow up would make sense imo

TotK is a special case, because it's a direct sequel to BotW on the same console, using the same engine and many of the exact same mechanics (and partially the same world). Just like MM was a direct sequel to OoT and reused a load of assets and mechanics.

Yes I agree with this, galaxy 2 released fast yes but Nintendo said theyd support the Switch up to 10 years. 2026/2027 respectively. So instead they probably delayed the game to be released in 2024 and have a big super mario release year then. After BOTW 2 Zelda Tears of Kingdom released this year already. This also makes it the usual 6 year 3D Mario release time gap. It'll be about 6 to 7 years between Mario releases and they release it in 2024, the same year the Switch pro releases we predict. The next Nintendo console will come 2027 and the next 3D new Mario game will release sometime in that future consoles early years. That's how it'll go.
