I was one of those fans who watched AEW from Day 1. I was falling out of love with wrestling until AEW came along and reignited my love for wrestling like how it did for so many others. I loved AEW so much that I started this CZcams Channel just to make video essays solely on AEW as my first 20-30 videos was praising AEW. Somewhere along the line, AEW started to change and now it’s a product I don’t recognize anymore. I didn’t make this video to hate on AEW. In fact, I love AEW and because of that, I have to call them out on their bad moves. The company was built on listening to the fans, and as a fan, I have to say something. This is not the company we all fell in love with. I hope AEW can bounce back because we need them in the wrestling world.

I agree, they actually did it VERY well at the start. Using old talent as managers. Sting with Darby, Arn with Cody, Jake with Archer, Tully with FTR and Spears.
Now we see Sting taking bumps he should never be taking, Flair has popped up, RVD is in the mix, The Hardys are still there, Jeff Jerrat is still breaking guitars, Jericho is still botching the lionsault, Big Show is struggling to walk, Sabu is diving through tables.
It comes to something when your biggest heel is Christian Cage a 49 year old WWE star, and your biggest draw is Adam Copeland a 50 year old WWE star..................
Their only home grown talent that is of any hope is MJF and they are currently using him in every damn segament on TV watering him down to the bone.

It’s the same always, wwe gets stale , fans go elsewhere, wrestling boom, then it dies down. it happened with nwa, wcw, tna (sorta) , and now aew. but wwe is the one that benefits cuz it knows how to strike back because not only does it evolve, it learns from its competitors .

The biggest problem in AEW is...
As much as they don't like to admit it, they like to bring back nostalgia (like wrestling in it's 90's form). Which is great. Nostalgia is great. But when you overdo it, the hype is gone. And the viewers will lost interest. Sure. Blood is great for the sport. Hardcore too. But again, when every of their PPV or TV shows contains blood, it's pointless. WWE likewise, are moving forward through time. Things change. Eras change. How people think has also change. The Attitude Era was all about the right timing execution. And the modern day WWE is what's best for today's age media. Let's put it in a very simplest form. Attitude Era wouldn't survive in the modern era. And Modern WWE wouldn't survive in the Attitude Era. WWE viewerships and revenue is still sky rocketed.

Yes but WWE and AEW are the 2 extremes. AEW has to much blood, WWE had basically none for the past 10 years. AEW is too hardcore and WWE is to G, AEW swears to much and WWE swears to little. My biggest problem with AEW is how The Outcast have been booked since All In. Saraya won the title by pinning Toni Storm which should have been a bigger deal then it was. However Tony Khan rushed things and had Toni Storm exiled from The Outcast for a short feud that ended once Saraya lost the title. Not only was it stupid but it doesn't make any sense. Toni Storm and Saraya founded The Outcast together, they should still be a team and Ruby Soho should be exiled. Speaking of, Ruby Soho and Saraya have not evolved since Saraya lost her title to Hikaru Shida but Toni Storm has, and this could have played a factor into The Outcast feud had it been done right.
Tony Khan also got Collision on TV but not Ring of Honor yet still expects people to care about ROH even though he doesn't promote them as much as he everything else. Collision isn't bad but it should be more attached to ROH instead of being another AEW show fans don't care about like Dark or Elevation.

All of the stars that they had have become so stale and general fans had enough of them already like Jericho, Moxley, Kenny all fell so down the card because fans doesn't care about them as much as their time as champion. This -- TNA brought attention and made stars of Samoa Joe, AJ Styles and others, then went downhill when they kept bringing in old WWE retreads over and over. They need to stop bringing in the old guys (maybe just a few key veterans) and make new stars, and really focus and zero in on a few who they think can eventually sell tickets and build a long-lasting success, not just scattergun approach where everyone gets a brief moment to shine. I know Tony apparently loves NJPW -- well when I was a regular NJPW fan, there were just a few guys that it was focused on, not a huge roster of names being promoted. One guy I've seen in youtube clips that looks like a possible star is Ricky Starks (I'm not a regular AEW viewer, barely seen the shows tbh) -- he basically seems like he could be their version of LA Knight (harkening back to SCSA & The Rock) -- they need to pick a few people like that and really zero in on them.
What's also hurting them is that the WWE overall product is the best that it's been in years (look how many WWE babyfaces are over right now, it's crazy) -- also that someone can just be a WWE casual and watch the once a month PLE and maybe a couple other things, and still enjoy it and figure out what is going on, especially because story lines right now are long-lasting.

I love AEW but these problems are so damn true. When Cody left I just knew it was going to have repercussions for years to come. He was the heart of AEW, he was the constant, he was the driving force. He also seemed to do A LOT backstage too when it came to talent relations. After he left all we hear about is wrestlers fighting for real or on twitter. Also, buying ROH was a MASSIVE mistake. Its just going to add more issues and take time away from the main shows.
Tony needs to get a team together that has a vision, a team that can be ruthless when they need too, a team that will get the product back on track. He can't do this on his own, or with only a few peoples help.
They also NEED to cut the shows down and "TRIM THE FAT". They have waaaaaaaaaay too many wrestlers on the books, waaaaaay too many belts, and too much of "do whatever you want" attitude. Rampage is a joke now, that entire show needs to go. They should invest heavily into a "performance center" and have Rampage show be on youtube (replacing Dark) where young talent can be showcased and hone their skills.
Dynamite and Collision should stay put and have a smaller roster of talent, less factions and a team of creative for better more interesting storyline ideas.

Show this to Tony Khan and he'd tell you: "yeah, I can definitely see where you're coming from. But we've just sold 81,000 tickets and we're having some of our best shows ever. I can't answer any of your other questions but maybe they'll be answered on Wednesday Night Dynamite 😳🤓"
Whether or not you agree with everything on this list, the fact that there's THIS MUCH issues in their 4 short years IS AN ISSUE. I've been a day 1 fan since that press conference in Jacksonville, bought every ppv and watch Dynamite each week. Collision was my favorite when Punk was here because you can tell he was in charge of Collision and it was VASTLY better than Dynamite, but now it's Dynamite Lite and just feels different than the Punk led Collision.
All of these issues started brewing more once Cody left. He and the Elite didn't agree on how to handle AEW, but Cody's involvement was the best thing at the times on Dynamite. The Elite had more athletic matches, but Cody was MEMORABLE and actually gave us professional wrestling instead of planned matches that's like watching an acrobatics show. It's entertaining, but it's so visibly obvious that they're cooperating, you just can't get invested in their matches. Hangmans okay, but he's ALWAYS the underdog and has to fight for what's right. Just do something else already cause the cowboy shit and fighting out of a slump is getting stale after 4 years. And the Young Bucks BARELY have any interest now. The crowd pops for the music and their entrance, then their matches start and they seem so ass-holyish that it ruins the investment. I like Omega, but he acts like a video game character and that style is straight from New Japan, but it just doesn't feel like it's the right fit for what he's doing. Ospreay yelling at him and giving us something to feel for, then Omega starts his promo and his energy doesn't match Ospreays. It's like when you yell at your siblings and they speak to you calmly, it just ruins the mood lmfao.
Tony Khan needs to be a better boss and let someone that KNOWS what they're doing run the wrestling show. As well as stop trying to be everyone's friend, you're their boss, stop it. That's why he lost Punk because he allowed the Elite to run roughshod over his BIGGEST draw.

I agree wit most of deez I personally like tha hardcore stipulations cuz we don’t get diz type of stuff n wwe or TNA, dey do need better booking and better storylines, edge could be a very good signing IF dey put him n good storylines, as for tha talent dey been mishandling dey need to book dem rite cuz most wrestlers from the pg era are retiring or gonna retire n a couple years or more, as fo Darby allin I personally like tha bumps he take but just dey need to stop making him take deez extreme bumbs dey can save dat fo ppv, as fo Jon moxley bleeding 🩸 a lot I personally like it, and finally about tha not looking like freaks of nature idc for not err wrestler Needs to look like dey on steroids but it does help they’re appearance BUT for the people who don’t have abs dey r still good n tha ring ( ex: Adam Cole, Eddie Kingston, chuck Taylor and etc ) but you made sum VERY good points

Yes CM Punk is a problem but he's the only star they had that draws, they should do everything to kept him around even if they had to fired any of the hangman/omega/youngbucks/perry
Vince faced this problem too with Shawn in the 19s when he notoriously controlled politics backstage and become a headaches to everyone that he doesn't like but Vince doesn't fired him, instead he kept him around for years until he created a new star in Stone Cold. So if you're saying AEW firing CM Punk was the right decision just because he's morale problem for few people in the locker room just think about again

Those last four...oh God I remember the hype and excitement when AEW first came about. DON being a huge breath of fresh air and renewing my love for wrestling and filling in the voids that NXT couldn't fill because of limitations to the PG rating. I remember the first episode of Dynamite when I was in awe from the start then hanging on the edge of my chair with insane adrenaline pumping through me during the post main event brawl. I understand there's a honeymoon period but the way TK has handled things the post HM period has been a stale nightmare. There needs to be more maturity all across the board. That alone would solve a lot of problems.

The whole civil war between the Elite and CM Punk could've been avoided if Tony did his job as a manager.
Hangman should've got punished for going into business for himself during the promo battle with Punk that set everything off(when I say punished I mean like a solid few months of jobbing to send a message to everyone that going into businesss for yourself wont be tolerated). The Elite definitely had a hand in the rumors about Punk being behind what happened with Colt, Tony should've put a stop to that IMMEDIATELY and let them know that if they didnt conduct themselves better their titles as EVP would be revoked. During the scrum when Punk had his legendary meltdown, Tony should've cut off the mic immediately and ended the event there instead of allowing Punk to implode while he sits beside him like a scared child. The Elite(mainly the Bucks because reportedly Kenny was mainly there to support them), should've been kept away from Punk after his meltdown till formal mediation could happen. Punk honestly shouldn't have been brought back after the brawl, but he was given WAY too much power upon his return. The Elite should've been made to participate in mediation with Punk to get everyone on one accord, instead of acting like they had a choice in the matter. And Jacka** Perry should've been fired along with Punk because he initiated that fight by antagonizing Punk.
There are just so many situations where Tony kneecapped the company and exacerbated problems by failing in his management of the talent.

I think you're 100% spot on about Keith Lee just being another guy, whereas in WWE he was seen as a star. That's the biggest problem with AEW imo, guys are just... there. Like there's very, very few big names, the rest are just good wrestlers. That's not enough in wrestling, regardless as to what people say, being a good wrestler isn't enough in wrestling. Your whole gimmick can't be "I'm a good wrestler" because it's boring, there's so many good wrestlers that just having this as your gimmick isn't enough.

It's kind of sad to say, but I mainly watch videos like this to see the fan reactions. Honestly, it amazes me to see the fan base reactions to observations and thoughts. I will admit, I am primarily a WWE fan, not so much for the product anymore but because of the storylines. That doesn't mean i watch every show because with their storyline I can afford to miss shows and still keep up. In fact, at this point, I primarily watch wwe PPVs, but as someone who has been a fan of ROH since 2014, and who has been a fan of Kenny Omega and and of NJPW since the early bullet club days (AJ Styles era), it is just absurd how people can look at some of the things that these wrestlers are doing now and not feel slightly disappointed. At the end of the day. I am a wrestling fan and I want AEW to be better, not just for myself but for all the great wrestlers they have who are lost in the shuffle and it amazes me how so many people seem to think it's ok for AEW to make the same mistakes as WWE, because as a WWE fan I can 100% that WWE booking needs improvement, that WWE did have a legends and part timer problem, that I hate WWEs mass firing and that WWE has fumbled on top quality stars, and i hate how WWE does not place as much value on the technical wrestler (at least Vince didn't). But at the end of the day, I want to see great matches and AEW has had those and still does, but I feel the focus needs to return to AEW and the AEW product because I can 100% say they have the best roster of talent today but they need to focus on highlighting those stars and elevating their product.
