It's cool that more people get to experience Klonoa thanks to the Klonoa Phantasy Reverie Series re-release, but who knows if that will be enough to drum up interest for a new installment.

Great video. Klonoa is one of the few big platformer series I haven't much exposure to - but it really does look a lot of fun

I remember reading somewhere the reason for the wii remake was because the president of Bandai (after the merged with Namco) was a big fan of the series and wanted it to come back. (It being on the wii made it DOA imo). Im glad they went back to Klonoa with the 25th anniversary from what it seems the remakes sold well this time around and they actually did a bunch of merch. Hopefully there is more new Klonoa games its such a good series! Bandai Namco should start doing prize plushies of the characters for the arcade machines in Japan since that DMM scratch promotion seemed to go really well and the old Klonoa plush when they came up for sale go for crazy amounts

I don't get why bring the n64 to the subject with klonoa, to me is a fantastic game it was more possible get it Klonoa in the Sega Saturn cause can handle HD sprite base games and decent polygons rather than n64, n64 could handle a port of klonoas too but the answer is the company who developed it.
Namco had a contract of exclusivity games for play station so that's why did never get a port of klonoas to either Saturn and N64.
Saturn had his still exclusive Clock world knights, sprite based 3d platformer and N64 his mischief maker.
Klonoa is the best of them imo, please buy the remaster, this character deserves the love.

I only played the remaster but I vastly prefer the look of the original; the cutscenes look more animated and expressive in the ps1 game. At least they didn’t port the odd looking wii version to switch…

@@brycecartwright2403 the original has innocence in it. It is somehow easier to get immersed into that phantasy world
.. the remake on the other hand, didn't use Phantomilean as standard language for the campaign, but English instead, and turned Klonoa into a _"c00l Sk8ter boi"_ instead of a courageous and innocent teen, and great grandchild.
I detest the remake, it is disgusting
Oh yeah, they also changed the personality of the characters by changing little details of the dialog, and even had the temerity to change the design of their bodies, this is unforgivable.
