This channel's content seems so consistently high quality it amazes me. Very surprised the algorithm hasn't picked anything up and tossed in more viewers. Good luck with the growth, king. Love what you've been putting out.

It surprises me even more that the Stardew Valley Video with more than 250k views didn't skyboost this channel to the sub numbers he deserves

The best thing anyone can do to help the algorithm work is to SHARE the video and ask people to like, comment, and subscribe once they end up watching it.
If the algorithm simply promoted videos because they've got a few thousand views and a handful of likes, it would be too easy for scammers and spammers to, well, scam and spam people. The algorithm used to work like that but the amount of crap making its way through CZcams became a problem.
So, anytime you feel more people should see a video, post it to Discord or whatever social media you're addicted to. Shares are tracked and are a pretty big portion of the recommendation algorithm.

Metal Gear is one of the magical gems I randomly discoverd on the PS1, not knowing anything about the game. What a time.

That was me with the legend of Zelda on SNES. I had no idea what I was playing or that it would become legendary. Mgs, while I didn't know about it, felt like an epic series in the making

Great vid, only thing I think it missed was how much this game breaks the fourth wall effectively and how that wasn’t something that happened with games up until that point.

I'm no good at stealth games, they make my anxiety go crazy, but it's a cool concept for a video game nonetheless. Weirdly, though, when I think of Metal Gear Solid, I don't so much think of the stealth as I do the big, elaborate setpieces and lots of exposition and cinematic story-telling. Then again, I only played Twin Snakes, and even then, I only got so far as reaching the tank boss. The Metal Gear series is a lot of things, so much so that I kind of forget about the stealth aspect, even though Snake using a cardboard box to sneak around it is iconic. Even if I'm not that big into the series, when I look back at the original PlayStation release of Metal Gear Solid, I can see why it was such a big deal and so popular, and why it helped lead Metal Gear to being such a massive franchise, as well as why Hideo Kojima is such a big name in the gaming industry. Truly excellent stuff!

Like many games, from the original Super Mario Bros. through GTA San Andreas and up to the couple of games I play today, I cheated my way through MGS. The Game Genie, Game Shark, and built-in cheat codes help out those of us that suck at anything that's not a JRPG. Final Fantasy and similar games let me just grind away until I was able to beat that area or boss that handed me you know what.
Anyway, MGS was a masterpiece, in my opinion. I never played any of the sequels, but the first game really showed the power of the PlayStation. How could things get better? I bought my PS early on, but most of the original games were simply ugly to me. Pixel graphics had been nearly perfected, and going from a game like FFVI or even Super Mario World to early polygon graphics made me feel like I was playing an updated Atari 2600. Resident Evil changed that opinion, then MGS obliterated it. The video game series I used to pass up on the NES rental racks was suddenly a must play.
As for my earlier question, how could things get better? We've seen exactly how. I stopped playing a lot of games after the PS era, later getting a PS2. Eventually, I got a PS4 and thought the graphics in games like GTA V were extremely realistic. Now, with the newest consoles and TVs, they've only improved. Then again, I'm a bit of a nostalgic type, as I remember how "great" SMB looked compared to the 2600 games I'd previously played.
Great channel, love the content and have been steadily watching it. If you haven't already, I think FFIV would be a great game to cover, as it bridged the gap between the relatively simple FFI and the pinnacle 16-bit FF game, FFVI, for many Americans. Until FFVII came out, most of us didn't realize that there were three FF games that never got released in the US, making us wonder how FFIV was so refined compared to its predecessor, then became so dated looking compared to its successor. Of course, the story wasn't as epic as FFVI, but it had a few decent character arcs and surprises for players who had previously simply picked a party of four generic unnamed characters who could easily be revived and seemed to not have any investment in the overall world.
