The Pyzel Precious surfboard is the latest addition to Pyzel's velocity project and its a banger! The Pyzel Precious has been developed as a one board quiver to take on your travels or use at home. “One board to rule them all” is the tag line that went with the board and its almost true!
This board is based on the staggeringly good Gremlin model, we love that board, it's so versatile and fun, it easily shrugs off the 'groveler' tag that it often gets labelled with. Pyzel has started off with the concept of the Gremlin but he wanted it to be sleeker with more of a performance feel and has done this by reducing the width and making the rails a little less chunky. He wanted to keep some volume in the board so has gone for a step deck, who doesn't like a step deck! This design allows him to keep some foam in the overall board, but allow it to have a more sensitive, high performance rail at the same time. The step deck also has a concave which adds stability and more sensitivity to the design, and it seems to give you a little extra boost of paddle power as a side benefit.
The Precious paddles fast, surfs fast and has a really well balanced feel, and it gets on a rail surprisingly easily for a board that packs in a good wedge of volume. Once you get in on a rail the turns are smooth and controlled, in good waves under the feet of a good surfer you can feel that it will go vertical but for us mere mortals it's a really pleasing board to surf.
Sizing The Precious is fairly straight forward, take a little off your groveler volume and match the length accordingly. We'd surf this board in anything from thigh to a bit overhead depending on the type of wave. Fin wise its set up as a 5 fin so it can be ridden as a 2 + 1, thruster, or quad. We really liked it as a 2 + 1 in weaker smaller waves and then as a thruster on better days. The combination of added float, refined rails and overall shape results in a a really usable surfboard that pretty much any level of surfer can enjoy as long as its sized right.

One board to rule them all, my precious
thanks for the shout out guys! the precious is epic.
No worries Dylan! You've been ripping on it... hard not to shout you out!
Im waiting for my precious! Coming soon in ten days :)
Reminds me of the Rusty 1984 a bit, fun board with thicker rails.
Very Nice. I like.
well refined rails-- the key!!
I know they are two completely different shapes, but how does the board compare to the Pyzalien 2 in terms of versatility and user-friendliness? Does this board also perform in hollow conditions?
The Precious is a super versatile board, Pyzel has started off with the concept of the Gremlin but wanted it to be sleeker with more of a performance feel and has done this by reducing the width and making the rails a little less chunky. Works well in beachbreaks and will still perform well in the more critical conditions too! More refined in performance than the gremlin but shares many elements in paddling, wave catching.
🔥
Mate those lines are art far more character than a boring dome deck
Is the board similar to the white Tiger?
I have the white Tiger and am pretty happy in small waves. However, I am looking for something that works in slightly higher and steeper waves. Thanks for the videos!
There are some similarities and of course difference but both will sit in the step down/ groveler category, depending on the size you go for there will be some performance changes but if you're looking for a board for the steeper more critical conditions, go for the Pyzel Phantom or Ghost!
Thank you ❤️

That’s a bit different
Looks experimental
