    Been loving Ruike knives and thier use of 14C28N since the 801p was released. Good solid working knives that don't break the bank and are easy to maintain and sharpen. The latest one I purchased was the Jager great 4" fixed blade that has held up great for all the tasks I've thrown at it. Thanks for the great vid and keep making sharp things fun and enjoyable

    That knife with the big belly would be interesting to try skinning game. Not my favorite with a folder but I'd give it a shot

    Cheers ffor the updates mate. That large multitool is something that we would conteplate on & with the weight, doubt very much that it would interfere with its performances. It would give SAK atleast a slight competition. Cheers matey.!

    I feel like most knife people here on youtube have kind of forgotten about Ruike. Maybe it's because they never come out with new stuff. I love them, after Spyderco it's the brand I have most knives from. Thanks for a great video, I'm subscribing for sure 🙂

    I carry the Keychain tool as my urban/office EDC. Opening letters/packages from an office use point of view, or cutting through packing tape/twine with the scissors, and any EDC task with the knife blade are a breeze. Your apprehension on the weight is understandable, but it has not been a hindrance at all for me.
    It doesn't really 'feel' heavy for pocket carry at all. I mean I have my 2 house keys, and my office locker key on it - it's actually easy to grip and pull out of the pocket. So, I am gonna continue carrying this. Thanks for the review - I have come to respect the Ruike brand over the last couple of years, notwithstanding the initial misgivings typical about Chinese made products. Can't say, I have seen better Value for Money
    👍🏼👍🏼

    Have you tried the Fox Knives Vulpis multitool? (Looks nice… a bit smaller than a cadet) I’m wondering if the scissors are any good.

    Best value knifecI have is the original Miguron Velona that goes for about $52. The new one I got for around the same price has a gray/tan PVD blade and gray scales. It's gorgeous but the detent isn't as good IMO. I opened that up and bent the lockbar in and it's better. They're spicy boys to be sure with a 4.2" 14C28N blade.

    I got an LD51-B because Victorinox doesn't make the one handed workchamp that I really wanted. If they ever maje one I'll buy it because I hate the weird flattened philips.

    I'm quite new to knives. I've checked the hornet f815 & the p135. Both were 46-47$ but now are at 60$ 😢 U seem to be quite familiar with ruike knives.
    Do their prices fluctuate often? Do u recommend that I wait for the prices to drop?

    Please help. I'm looking for a >$40 (or so), assisted opening knife with good action that is super rugged. Any brand, I just want it to be able to handle hard use, while still having a very smooth and efficient action.

    I found out from at least one (and possibly more) organized crime persons that Ruike with the LD-42 and LD-51 and similar products wanted to compete directly with Victorinox so they decided to use Victorinox's proprietary knife steel (unfortunately Victorinox doesn't reveal what steel that is). Ruike reports their steel is Sandvik 12C27 in their Victorinox similar products and Sandvik is a Swedish company. A really excellent knife steel resource is Knife Informer and in their review of the LD-51 they write: "Sandvik 12C27 is reportedly very similar to the steel used in Victorinox knives, and also boasts excellent corrosion resistance."

    • @Sokol10
      @Sokol10 Před 5 měsíci

      Victorinox steel is meh for today standards, it's 1.4110 or X55CrMo14 that have good corrosion resistance and is easy to sharp, but with poor edge retention. It's OKk for ordinary people, not for "knife connoisseur".

    I love the Ruike's, but man is it a crowded market under $50 right now. Ruike is being squeezed by Remette, Sitivein and San Renmu's own SRM brand from below, and Petrified Fish, Miguron and Vosteed from above. I'm not sure there *is* a king of value any more.

    I think fox knives has a cf/titanium + m390 little slip joint at like 30 bucks, bot really my thing but it would be really interesting if you reviewed it

    • @dereksteele2284
      @dereksteele2284 Před 7 měsíci

      That's hard to believe. I could believe it, if it had N690, but not M390. M390 is alot more expensive than N690, but it's probably a good deal with either one.

    Hello. I have a question. I have a Ruike p801 - sf knife which is very good. But I really like the Victorinox ranger grip 79. I'm going to sell the Ruike and buy a Victorinox. Do you, as a knife expert, recommend me such a replacement? Regards.

    That little keyring Ruike is excellent design & value, I'd far rather a nail file than tiny scissors or package opener though 😕
    Thanks for reviewing these 👍
