- I hate posting these....... After a photo finish the far lane kicks a rod and oils down the tires. The driver was along for the ride at that point. Luckily he is sore but OK!

he had a good belly pan under it but it sprayed oil everywhere.
I believe ORP requires a belly pan or engine diaper on every vehicle past a certain ET. But it's not a guarantee. It definitely helps, but in a catastrophic failure.....
Yeah we had a belly pan but in that instance it didn’t help, next one will definitely have a diaper as well as a belly pan

A tuner can't prevent top end engine failure. Shit happens. It's called drag racing. Something had to let go on the top end to cause the smoke. And even top of the line parts fail. Not everything has something to blame.
Actually you’re both right. At times things go wrong and are unexplainable. Other times parts fail that are not up to spec and unfortunately the latter is true in this instance. The rod that came out of that engine was an Iron I-beam. Should have had a good forged H-beam in it. I as well hope the driver is ok and will recover from the trauma of a hard crash. No offense to either the owner or youtube commenters intended.

catastrophic failure would have not stopped that...not at that speed. and apparently some below said this track requires them at certain MPH

So sorry for their loss of the car but the driver has to be physically hurtin some , that’s close to where Frigg got took out too , I know it’s uncontrollable but barrier blocks over guard rails seems better
They are making plans for new concrete walls.
I don't know all the details on the deal with the Frigg but the guy was clearly beat and wrecked his opponent AFTER the finish line, and appeared to have an attitude about it......just from an outside perspective so it's a limited opinion.
@@kalebhall2925I was there too when the chevelle lost it & my heart sank & to see the carnage it was a testament to how frigg was built but a gut punch to see. My boy & I run there when we can test n tune Fridays so far & it’s so much nicer than when I ran there as a young man ❤it , happy Craven & crew saved it & gonna be one sweet facility that we support
