Robin Trower is the star guitarist of the 70's that NO millennials have even heard of. Criminally under-appreciated. 50 years later, Trower is still recording and doing gigs. amazing sound.

Hey guys, I sent you that album from ebay, because I didn't want to do the research to find out if new 50 year edition was remastered well or not. Glad you like it so far. It was Trower's first solo album, this was first song. I bought my copy probably in 75 from a flea market, and have been awestruck by Trower's guitar sound on this song ever since. It's like a living breathing thing really. And Jimmy Dewar's vocals are superb and a perfect match for Trower's mood. It's a great album all the way through. He still plays Daydream in concert now. Rock Me Baby is blazing version of that old blues song. My mom used to sing the chorus to Man of the World around the house, so that's sentimental favorite. Hannah is great too, great singing.

You really need to check out Frank Marino, Mahogany Rush was his band until he went solo. Either or , in that regard will work, looking forward to it. People often throw around the phrase "under-rated" way to freely, but it applies here. Trower deserves all the praise he can get. He has the skill and the pedigree. Trower played with Procol Harum (Whiter Shade of Pale) the first five albums and was a well-known and respected guitar player in the US and UK. Now throw in vocals by James Dewar, who could sing the phonebook and sound great, and you've got classic Trower. Not many clunkers in his repertoire.

It was a done deal I would follow him when he went solo and I got this album within a couple of days of release but NOTHING prepared us for what he gave us then or subsequently. The opening bars of this track hooked me as a fan for LIFE, I don't know how it would have been without his music being there: I know this will sound pretentious but much of his music touches my soul. Side one is EXCELLENT, Hannah is another standout. My YT user name is copied from the title track of his third album, well worth a listen: FEB, A Tale Untold both masterpieces imho. Well done, guys 👏👏

Robin Trower spent time with Jimi Hendrix (he was forthcoming with other musicians as to technique) in NYC while still with Procol Harum, he was so inspired by Jimi & decided he wanted to continue as a power trio & went solo, the choice of James Dewar on bass & Reg Isidore on drums was brilliant. The critics didn't like the album, saying he sounded like a Jimi Hendrix derivative (my words I don't remember exactly what I read only the message, probably saw in Rolling Stone). He replied that you say I sound like the world's greatest guitarist, I'll take that as a comment (not verbatim but the spirit of his words). Robin just put out an album "Joyful Sky" featuring Sari Schorr. Great album as usual.

The epic 17+ minute I Saw America is good. It's pretty much all Maggie on their 2nd album, Ode To John Law. Sad Mary & Danger Zone are great songs on the album. Great dirge of a tune, heaviness in slow motion. Trower thrived in a slower pace and used to ramp up from there for great dynamics. A song on the same album I played even more than this one is deep cut Sinners Song, it has the best rocking guitar solo on the album, right up there with Daydream for guitar heroics but never gets any love online. If you like very overloaded guitars and solos played even louder can I suggest you listen to Crying To The Sky by Be Bop Deluxe from their album Sunburst Finish. It's something of a forgotten treasure. It's also a great song. Give it a listen.
