  • @LordHolley
    @LordHolley Před rokem +2

    The GT2 would lose in a drag race, around the corners and braking. There's a major difference between a ground up purpose built race car vs. any street car. 917 is quicker, 40+mph higher top speed (which means 60-180+ is much faster), runs slicks (I don't believe they make street tires that will fit), the tires are bigger on the 917. 917 is much lighter, which also means it's going to stop quicker, with less to get around the corners. There is literally no aspect of racing where GT2 is going to have a chance accept driving comfort. Fun video though, nice to see Dicky out having fun again but like pretty much everything that gets fed to the population, true or not, it all has to have a corporate message. In this case, new is better than old.

    Fun Facts about Dickie:
    -Dickie has an illegitimate son that works on some other car show Top Brake I think called The Stig or something.
    -Before filming this scene, they tried to make Dickie wear a helmet but his Flatcap was outrage and ate it.
    -The 917 ran out of fuel halfway through the race, so it began to run off of Dickie's pure insanity
    These are 100% accurate and if you disagree, you have the right to your opinion.

    I feel like that was staged, which it probably was. I mean they had all those camera angles, so they probably didn't even shoot all the scenes in the same race. The thing that didn't make sense to me was that when the 911 finally passed the 917 on the final straight to the finish at ~1:49, the 917 didn't just pass the 911 again on the straight... the 917 accelerates way faster than the 911 and I'm sure that if Dickie had floored it he would have re-passed the 911 to the finish. Just my two cents.

    If the race took place at La Sarthe, the 917 would annihilate the 911GT2RS, with its top speed of well over 210 mph, I mean, the new car could gain during braking and cornering, but in the straights, I do not think it will stand a chance.
