You should cut a version of that song. You do so beautifully
Right, though a song called virginia b I r g I n a a by mars
@@pacificcoastpiper3949They got a hoe out of my Charlie Daniels on the fiddle. And it's all l I, are they A? They do a song called in my own way. By Marshall. Tucker what charlie on the pedal yeah
Driving 80 mph, this song as loud as possible, singing at top of my lungs! Loving life❤
Damn right 😎
That kinda sums up so much of my misspent youth in the 70s!
Damn, I sure do miss those years...
To borrow another lyric: "...wish I didn't know now what I didn't know then...".

🤘👹🤘
Amen!! Been there!
I love watching young people listen to my generations music for the first time! It always makes me laugh!
Toy Caldwell voice is legendary, he also plays all the lead guitar, with his thumb, no pick.
Absolutely love MTB. This is one of my main biographical songs. Toy Caldwell's voice just brings out that emotional feeling that those of us who have had their heart crushed can feel. They made flute playing cool much like Ian Anderson of Jethro Tull and like Kansas did with the violin. Their other songs "Fire on the Mountain" and "Heard it in a Love" are classic Southern Rock standards that you MUST check out. And I'd be remiss if I didn't mention The Outlaws "Green Grass and High Tides".
A big YES to all three suggestions.
Seen Marshall Tucker band, at least 3 times. One of the best bands in all time ‼️👍 I find it so cool to see the younger generation finding the music I grew up with good ‼️👍
I think you really enjoy The Allman Brothers Band and The Band. Great musicians, great song writing, and even better live. Both are separate rabbit holes fer sure. ✌️❤️🇨🇦
Yes, always better live!
There’s a live version of this somewhere on youtube that goes on and on and on and on. And still it ends way too early.
The pain in Toys voice is painfully beautiful
Takes me back. The days of southern rock with Marshal Tucker, Black Oak Arkansas, The Outlaws, The Allman Brothers, Blackfoot, early REO Speedwagon, and Skynard.
and MOLLY HATCHETT & Charlie Daniels Band
@@pmcclaren1 You could also include 38 Special, Little Feet, The Allman Brothers and The Band in that era as well. Such good music then.
@@kallsop2 Absolutely! Little Feat were incredible! and Wet Willie. As well these Southern ladies were from the SOUTH (Linda Rondstadt & Stevie Nicks (Arizona), Emmylou Harris (Alabama)). (Addendum: the Confederate States included Arizona, New Mexico, Delaware, Maryland, Kentucky, Missouri)--
Uhm, REO Speedwagon was from central Illinois, they were in no way Southern Rock.
So glad to see you react to this group! I saw them in concert in the summer of 1973 in Memphis, TN, the first rock band I ever got to hear live! They were the opening act for Mahavishnu Orchestra (a niche band if there ever was one), but MTB's self-titled album had dropped in April, and by the time of the concert this single was climbing the charts. As a result, the concert had at least as many fans of the opening act as were there for the main act. MTB was totally new to me at the time, and I remember being amazed at what a great show they put on. They were solid musicians and knew how to connect with the audience, and I knew they were the real deal right away. Thanks for reacting to one of the few bands I ever got to see live. YOU rock. as always.
Maggie, you have southern rock in your heart ❤
Saw them at a small bar in 81 . $5 to get in . One of the best concerts I've ever seen .
known this song backwards and forwards, for decades, Love your vocal additives and commentary.
If you were at one of my band's shows and we saw you singing along, you would probably find yourself on the stage with us.
Little historical background Toy and Tommy we’re Marines Toy was wounded in Vietnam in 68 The Marine Corps League building in Spartanburg is name after them their father and uncle when were all Marines They were awesome.probably the most underrated rock / southern rock band ever And their name sake Marshall Tucker just recently passex
It's ok Maggie - we're all singing along too😂
Great reaction! Marshall Tucker has always been one of my favorite Southern Rock bands.
Miss Maggie was feelin this one !
God bless! Sing along gorgeous. You rock. Your reactions rock. Never stop singing and adding your own flair! So lovely!
I rocked to these guys. Ms. Renee I hope you are doing well.🐕🦺🇺🇲
this song is so classic, that I hear it all around but never even knew who it was. Such a sound. Hear it in the backgrounds and in ads. Definitely has that creek and rocky mountain type vibe in audio form. Real art. Makes me feel like Mark Twain
The live performance in 1973 in macon Georgia is the best videoof this song..... glad to see you getting into the purest genre!!.....SOUTHERN ROCK!!!!
I live just across the North Carolina line from Spartanburg. Back in the day around this time of year the Band would rent out billboards alone interstate 85 "Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays from the Marshall Tucker Band" thought that was neat.
classic country/rock blues song and band -so many great tunes from them over radio and all over the years-like the reaction as always...
👍🤩
you keep singing along-why we come here! how about doing this song and adding to your list? some good news-news meds working well-feel lot betetr both sugar and blood pressure...hope to be able to add bits on monday....:)
One of my all time favorite songs and now you are one of my favorite YT content providers. You are awesome and stunning
An all time Classic to be sure.
They called Toy the Thundering Thumb because he used his thumb in lieu of a guitar pick. And as an opera singer you’d probably appreciate this, but they actually toured with a floutist. That wasn’t a studio musician in the beginning. I’m from down South and I’ve played this song in cover bands most of my life. I could definitely see you fronting a band down here and owning this song.
Your backing vocals are on point!
Sing all you want! Can't wait to see you live!!!
ALL TIME !
I’m an old guy who has been a Marshal Tucker fan for fifty years. I love watching your reactions and I especially love seeing you react so positively to the music of my generation.
I’d also like to say that you look especially gorgeous today, even more than usual. Maybe it’s the beautiful dress. Continued success with your channel. Maybe I’ll sponsor a video someday when I’m feeling rich.
Awesome reaction Maggie! Keep up the great work!
Thank you!! 😁 Hope you are feeling better! 💟
I enjoy listening to you sing along, cause I am right there with you.
I love when you add your own musicality to the reaction!
Definitely one of the greatest bands of all time
This is the kind of music I grew up on I love seeing young people enjoying it BTW I sing along as well the only difference is I sound horrible
Nothing weird about singing along when you catch the groove in a song you enjoy...
Id listen to a Maggie cover of this no doubt!
@@Nickearl1likewise
You got it Miss Maggie because you had (& let it show) FUN FUN FUN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Go TUCKER!!!!!!!!!!!
I grew up to this. this hole album was brilliant.
6 months before Toy Caldwell wrote and recorded this song he was in a rice paddy in Vietnam. His guitar solos are just with his thumb. No pick.
If I had a beautiful voice like yours I would sing along too!! Thanks for the reaction!!
You don't need a great voice to sing along - just enjoy yourself!
Saw the original band in concert with the Doobie Brothers as a teen. Great times! Enjoying your reaction.
I grew up 30 miles from Spartanburg, listening to MTB, Allman Brothers, Lynyrd Skynrd, Charlie Daniels, Elvin Bishop, Wet Willie, and lots of other "Southern rock" bands. The live version (in black and white) is a great video of this song.
Hank Williams, Jr did a cover of this song for his 1975 album Hank Williams, Jr and Friends. I mention that simply because of the line about jumping off a mountain. About six months after cutting the song, Hank Jr fell 525 ft down the side of Ajax Mountain.......and lived.
Love the way you're singing.
Thank you!! 🤗
This is one of those perfect songs. No notes. Just great.
Searching for a Rainbow is another great
Your singing along is great! Plus, you are pointing out one of the great things about Southern rock - you could and wanted to sing along. So, check out other southern rock bands like Lynyrd Skynyd (react to "Free Bird" live in Oakland), The Allman Brothers, .38 Special, Charlie Daniels Band (especially "Devil Went Down to Georgia"), Atlanta Rhythm Section, Molly Hatchet, Johnny and Edgar Winter ("Frankenstein" is a classic), and, of course ZZ Top.
A fantastic group. Check out their best live CD Stompin Room Only. It was recorded when they were at their peak 1974-75 and then went unreleased until 2003.
Just found your channel. Interested to see what genres of music you are reacting to. The YT algorithm should have featured your channed because I watch a lot of classic pop music reactions.
MTB great choice, awesome guitar work, that flute always adds depth to their sound. Singing along is good too, especially with your voice, I'm doing it myself.
Heard it in a Love Song, and Fire on the Mountain are two of their other big hits.
There is a great live version.
Just like the good old days, lol.
Maggie, that was wonderful. To hear a young person love a song as much as I do means a lot. Especially a trained opera singer. I'm 68 and I got one for you: Harvey Mandel's version of Duke Pearson's song recorded first by Donald Byrd in a choral version: Christo Redentor. I think you'll dig it, man!
How many people want some Maggie Sings Along videos? Yes please!!
This Ole Cowboy by them is a great song.
Oddly, This song came on The radio, After I got a dear john Phone call, On the way to my first duty station. 85 in a 65. The cop felt so bad for me he let me go. He was a veteran so he knew all to well bout dear john letters and jodie
Need to live version from the Grande OPera house
Thanks! I sing along too. Nowhere near as well as you of course. So sing out as much as you want! 🧐
Love that! 🤗 Thank you!! 🎶🌺
When you have " Lawd" in a , is a good chance it's going to be a banger
You did a great job filling the pauses B-E-A-U-T-I-F-U-L Woman ❤😎🤘
Fire on the Mountain is a great follow-up
with our hours being cut at work, trying to sponsor is not really a good idea atm. was thinking though, "Hall of the Mountain King" by Ritchie Blackmore's Rainbow could be interesting.
After doing this marvelous song, I would highly recommend another faboulous song from 1973, "Evie" by Stevie Wright (studio version!). Composed by Harry Vanda and George young (big brother of AC-DC's Malcolm and Angus young!) for Stevie Wright (all 3 of them were members of The Easybeat), it is an Aussie classic. A must!!
Southern rock rocks
👍❤️❤️
Time to listen to some Kansas!!
Southern Rock at its best. There are broad ranges on Southern Rock but it still ties together.
You failed to mention the singer and lead guitar player and song writer TOY CALDWELL who was awarded the purple heart in Vietnam ! Also to bad you did not react to the Live version from the Grand Old Opry 1973 ! a where you could see the use of his special thumb playing on guitar by Toy Caldwell !
Saw Marshall Tucker, Charlie Daniels, Minnie Pearl and other Grand Ol' Opry stars at free concerts in Nashville's Centennial Park (site of the Parthenon replica).
Got to see a lot of great bands in the 70s two or five bands for $5.00 lucky or blessed or both
Sounds as good today as it did back in the day
Marshall Tucker does a song called Virginia Vir GIN I. A. Yes indeed it is wonderful
I shall talk, you're always had charlie daniels on nephito I did a whole album or charlie on the My own way in my own way with charlie
It's so cowboy i'm so cowboy marshall tucker band does this so cowboy
Is marshall Marshall tucker band they do a song called searching searching for a rainbow
Is a marshall tucker band They do twenty four hours twenty four hours by the marshall tucker ban
THIS SONG WAS COMPOSED AND SUNG BY THE ORIGINAL GUITARIST , FOR MARSHALL TUCKER !
I wish you would react to my favorite southern rock band Molly Hatchet and their song "The Rambler" such a great song
One of my favorite songs (though, admittedly its a long list), MTB had a vibe that was pure honest and different. You cannot listen to any of their songs and not find yourself moving along to it and wishing for more when it ends.
Don't be sorry you sound great
Can I suggest you look at Slade singing Cmon feel the noise or Everyday……and Sugar baby love by the Rubettes (the singer of this song Paul Davinci has a live version which will blow your mind
Toy Caldwell needs to be the thumbnail.... and he's not in that pic
Listen to to the whole song first, they had harmony, let the song build
Your voice really
complements
the song.😅
Thank you so much very sweet of you to say.🤗❤️
Please consider doing any song by Jason Isbell......
never apologize for singing along!!!!!!!!! its way cute when you do it ( we do it too but you're way cuter doing it than we are)
This recording left out the second verse, which explains why he is upset that his girlfriend never said GOOD-BYE.
Toy is not the lead singer, Doug is, try TAKE THE HIGHWAY Live.
Its a shame you got the cut up version, missing about 3 minutes of beautiful instrumental work.
I've been listening to "Can't You See" for 40 years and will now not listen to it w/o the Maggie-Renee-ian-backing-vocals.
Dont read the lyrics before. Read them during.
We get it you're a singer you don't have to repeat every line
😡
Gave you a thumbs down because I want to hear them sing, not you .... became you can't! Had to shut it off.
It's a shame, all you reactors have done 1 Marshall Tucker Band song, and he's not even the lead singer. plum pitiful
Why are you singing over the music? If you want to sing, do a video of just you singing some song, but I find it annoying when anybody sings over a classic song! Sorry...don''t mean to step on your toes, but I gotta be honest! I also don't like the music being stopped for comments...make the comments after the song has finished!
STOP
Please stop singing over the classics. It ruins them.
First watch of you. Thanks but no thanks. Seems like you have main character problem. Just let the artist do their job and be quite.
