My unpopular opinion is this truly a bad look on Derrick James behalf.... One is because of Errol, DJ was able to eat off of Jermell Charlo, Anthony Joshua, Frank Martin and Ryan Garcia. Truthfully they all came there because of Errol Spence. Two is because this happened after the first loss. Its been good for 28 wins. One loss now we have an issue. I also disagree with Greg Hackets assessment of Crawford and Derricks interaction. Derrick wasn't stepping for Errol. He was standing up for himself. Now I will say... If your asking for or in need of help. Yes help your people. With Jermell and Errol being out of the ring for a year. Derrick is still working Frank had A fight, Ryan has had two. So there was still income coming in....the question is what motivated Derrick James to all of a sudden expect more than the usual.

The fact he was such an athlete might’ve saved his life. What’s cool about Derrick, he lives a healthy lifestyle, runs and trains with the fighters. He fought in the ring. Derrick might be the worse friend on the planet, but you can’t have disloyalty win you had nothing but good results until after your accident that had nothing to do with your trainer. I don't know what their agreement was but in the filing it says DJ trained him for $250 when Errol's purse was 2500. Everyone knows PBC likes to give low 1 million dollar guarantees and you get your's on the back end. For instance if Errol's guarantee was one million and he made another 5 with PPV sales. You can't expect to pay him a hundred thousand while the fighter makes 6 million. Now there's exceptions to the rule. Like Mayweather and Canelo. I'm sure they negotiate a flat fee because you'd be talking 10-30 million for training and that would be enormous. Also through text Errol said he'd wire DJ another 2.1 million.
DJ is claiming he had a 'verbal' agreement over 10 years ago. The texts could mean next fight. AND how can you count another mans money, and tell him how to spend. And stop thinking DJ helped EJ so much. Who was DJ before EJ? He got the fighters now because of EJ.

Obviously Errol is blaming DJ for his loss. Did anyone look at Errol in the locker room before the fight? He looked zooted on something, he was walking around and his eyes were much droopier than normal and I was asking everyone in the room, what's wrong with him? Ryan recently came out and said Errol was high AF before the fight. Word is he was on pain killers for some bruised ribs 5 weeks earlier.
If this is true then this may be DJ's fault. They have this history of putting Errol through the gauntlet in training with light heavyweights. First the eye, now the ribs. The truth will eventually come out I guess.......maybe in court.
