    The idea that Inoue “doesn’t like being on the inside” is completely ridiculous. The left hook on the inside in the 5th tells an entirely different story

      Inoue himself has said he's not comfortable on the inside, which is why that 5th round KD surprised me. He looked fine to me. Maybe he just meant mentally. It probably stresses him out.

      @peaceseeker9927 Před 29 dny +2

      Hackett was on point, Inoue does best at range where he can get full extension. The main reason Inoue landed the blows that disabled Nery is because Nery was sloppy and leaving himself open. I'm puzzled as to what he was thinking not keeping things tight with a P4P fast handed top puncher like Inoue.

    • @hittkid6312
      @hittkid6312 Před 28 dny

      @@peaceseeker9927 habit is hard to break man all fights i've seen of him he always drops his lead hand when he is trying to movie forward and initiate a brawl probably to load up a right hook. Works fine against slower fighters or boxers that don't have a lot of power since Nery has a tough chin but against an explosive boxer with sledgehammer hands it's definitely not a good idea.

    Most other fighters who would have suffered that type of knockdown would have been rattled and gone on the defensive for several rounds but not Inoue. He fought through it and became stronger and more aggressive. That is a special type of fighter that can do that.

    Greg Hackett kept it real. Inoue sold over 55,000 tickets in the Tokyo Dome. That's truly NFL numbers right there. Boxers in America could only dream to ever sell out an event like that here in the US. Reason why Inoue is who he is because he sells out events. He already made a name for himself "globally". People will have to go see him if they want to fight. Inoue total earning from that fight with Nery exceeded $6.5M and this wasn't even a PPV event. Heard the saudis are going to make him an offer that he won't refuse (somewhere between $10M-$20M+).

    I rewatched the fight and noticed Nery really was leading with his head but had his hands up high to hide it. He wasnt really trynna headbutt him but it was a clever technique to get on the inside and Inoue picked up on it. Even did it himself out of frustration and got warned by the ref. His second knockdown was from a left hook on the inside so i doubt be was truly uncomfortable. After that knockdown Nery stopped trynna force his way inside and it was pretty much over from there as Nery had no more answers. His only chance was to land another shot like he did in the 1st round but Inoue wasnt going for it
