The Story of HuangFeng is one of the most intriguing stories in League of Legends Esports history. lolesports has plenty of different player stories throughout its history but perhaps no one has had to overcome more adversity than huanfeng. The LPL is one of the lesser known regions when it comes to western viewing in spite of all of the talent that they send to worlds every year. But one player had way more to play for than anyone else at Worlds 2020 on Suning.

Thank you so much for giving credit, and even more so for making this video! The different clips paired with the quotes and (especially) your narration really drove the story home.

Casual League apparently Leyan had someone help him out big time when he was broken and team-less as well, and that guy is a streamer on Huya called Baozi. Baozi ordered him food, let him spend New Years at his place and allegedly helped him get into IGy(not sure about this part). But after Leyan became successful, Huya set up a streaming session starring the both of them like the old times, and Leyan barely spoke to Baozi, and was obviously not interested in the stream. When someone asked him who is Baozi, he said “oh he’s a streamer who plays Zed,” which is a stark contrast to the old days when he was very respectful and looked up to Baozi and called him “Bao Ge” (big brother Bao).

Just a side point. The LDL is such a great asset for Chinese LoL. They have SO many great players funneling into the academy structure every year. LPL teams are spoiled for choice with the amount of young hungry players in their lower leagues. Europe is starting to utilize their regional leagues to great effect in recent years but that presence is absolutely nonexistent in North America.
