Hendrik Johannes Cruijff , internationally known as Johan Cruyff, was a Dutch professional football player and manager. As a player, he won the Ballon d'Or three times, in 1971, 1973 and 1974.Cruyff was a proponent of the football philosophy known as Total Football explored by Rinus Michels. Generally regarded as one of the most influential figures in the history of football, he is considered as both one of the best players in the history of the sport, as well as one of its greatest managers ever.
He began his career as a player in the Dutch Ajax, from the mid-1960s to the 1970s with the club has gone from semi-professional performances to the heights of European soccer. During this time, Cruyff's team has won many trophies. In 1973, for a record amount at the time of the transfer moved to Barcelona, for five years in which he won the championship of Spain and the National Cup. In 1978 he finished playing career, but less than a year later returned to soccer and went to a club from the U.S. - Los Angeles Aztecs. Later moved to another American club - Washington Diplomats, and in 1981 he returned to Europe: first to Spain and then to the Netherlands. Finally ended his career as a player in 1984, Cruyff's last club was Feyenoord.
