    You are a breath of fresh air to the classic car reporting. you are never rude about peoples pride and joy. You seem to realise different people have different Ideas of what is good or not. well done to you. You should review an Austin A40 Farina. Basically a more sophisticated and refined Morris Minor.

    Morris Minors have a very special place in my life, having immigrated to Canada 🇨🇦 from Scotland 🇬🇧 at the age of 4 in 1956, dad's first car here was a used Morris Minor 1000 'saloon' in black for our first few years before he moved on to his first American made car, a Pontiac. Have only ever seen the odd Minor at a British themed Car Show here since. In '64 we then moved to California driving all the way in dad's '63 Morris Oxford Traveller wagon ( 'Nellie Bell' ) and then they decided to move back to Canada driving all the way back again in 1965 without a hitch! Thanks for the memories!!

    Oh wow looks like a great event. I love the popping sound of a moggy when engine is on over run.
    When me and my friends were teenagers one of them had a traveller. We teased him about the green moss in the rear window channels calling them window boxes. I planted cress seeds in the channels it was so funny seeing all this cress growing. Good times 😀

    Steph 28th September Kilbroney Vintage show is on in northern ireland in Rostrevor Co Down. Around 2000 classics, was rescheduled due to bad weather in June but an absolutely superb show in a spectacular setting ( Kilbroney forest park) , Ireland north and south has some serious machinery so would be well worth a trip over ( more than a few clubs make the journey) . Just a heads up on a fantastic day out!

    Another interesting variant of the Moggy Thou is the convertible - some were factory made, some converted (well) others not-so-well. There's companies which can fix all your Minor woes (see what I did there?) so even if you're unlucky enough to have a badly bodged example you can get it put right - who doesn't love 'em?

    • @idriveaclassic

      Hahaha yes! I’ve used minor garages exclusively for years aside from help from boyfriend and friends. I use little garage classics for the metro because they built her and I don’t like to take her elsewhere because their work is insanely good.

  • @Pinzpilot101
    @Pinzpilot101 Před 4 lety

    Steph I don't know if you know, but there used to be a company that would upgrade you Minor.....with Marina engines/gearbox front suspension and rear axles. They would keep up with modern traffic with no problems at all.
