    Our daughter spent a winter season in Nelson. It has to be one of the best little towns in the world. We went for the skiing but the roads would be fantastic in summer. BC is so beautiful.

    Love your vlog, Megan! And Canada...what a beautiful country. Scenery is stunning, not that different from what we got here in Norway. Wild nature, vast open landscapes, snowy mountains, lakes. Like in Norway, you really get a feel for that pristine, untouched nature. I just love that! To take it in and take part of living an active life with a motorcycle, share experiences and just...ride on. Ride on.

    • @MeganKaptein
      @MeganKaptein  Před 4 lety

      Geir thank you so much for watching and commenting. I have yet to discover Norway, but have heard many comparisons between our beautiful countries, as you mentioned. We are certainly the lucky ones to be able to enjoy such incredible landscapes on two wheels. Safe riding!

    Nice! I've been obsessed with British Columbia for its nature and spectacular cities (my favourites are Vancouver and Victoria but I know there are many more. Nelson seems nice too). I'm really digging those road trips although I'm not a motorcycle guy. I'd probably do that in a car. The other day I watched a cross-country trip where these dudes travelled from Ontario to British Columbia in a rental car. They couldn't fly because of the pandemic. Canada's countryside is inspiring.

    • @MeganKaptein
      @MeganKaptein  Před 4 lety +1

      Tim, thanks for watching. Obviously my passion is for two wheels, but no matter how you travel, Canada is indeed a beautiful country with inspiring scenery! I think train would be a really neat way to see the country too!

No matter how many times I take my wife (Filipino) up to Canada, she's always ready for more. Banff, Kootenays, Whistler, Vancouver; some of the most beautiful rides and places on the planet. She's been itching to visit again... As soon as Covid is behind us, we'll be riding north!

    Hi Megan, Lisa and I ought to kidnap you with us to Banff in 2021. Your journey so far is incredible with so much scenery.
    Tips on off-roading:
    It is no race so just take your time at your own pace. Enjoy the surroundings.
    Steady and constant throttle. Not too slow off road as you want a constant speed if you get into sand or it gets a bit rocky. You've got this!

    I was just up there on my Road King this last September on a 5 week, 6K mile trip. Was only going to spend the day in BC, entered through Roosville, up to Cranbrook, down to Creston on Hwy 3. In Creston , Hwy 3 turns into 3A if you miss the turn, like I did. I rode clear up to Kootenay Bay, halfway up the lake before I realized my mistake and turned back around. Stayed in Creston that night and back into the US through Porthill the next day. Thanks for sharing your adventure series with us, my wife and I have been riding most of our lives me 50 +years and Cher 45 + and have lived in Japan and New Zealand and have to agree with the Kootenays as being some of the best riding in the world. 2007 we moved from Auckland to Cherryville BC and life along HWY6 . Hope to see you soon and your always welcome up here in paradise . Keep the pictures rides and smiles coming Thanks

      Oh wow! That’s an amazing legacy that you’ve both been riding for over 40 years. I hope to be like you two some day. :)
      And so nice that you can be based near HWY 6 and have easy access to such incredible riding.

      @@MeganKaptein We lived in New Zealand for almost 20 years and rode most of it amazed constantly, but Hwy 6 is like medicine for us now. 100kms to Edgewood and the General store great food and gas or our favorite Joes Roadrunner food truck by the park there, great burgers and amazing fries and I have eaten a lot of good fries in NZ . Leland Hotel and lunch on the deck overlooking Arrow Lake is worth the ride from Vancouver in and of itself. Park is empty shade and views world class. If you keep travel notes JitterBeans in Lumby is bike friendly great food and treats and magical coffee. Glad that your finding your smile again, friends who ride share a passion and joy of movement that really is unique to motorcyclists. Look forward to your next instalment. Snow is retreating but sub zero overnight temps slow the process terribly, bikes out of the shop late March for service tires then on road April. Ride safe

      @@ROBERTTIMCO Thanks for the tips. I just saved Jitter Beans in my Google Maps and noticed she serves Parallel 49 coffee. Will definitely make a stop next time! Safe travels.
