Can we acknowledge that Steven wrote this nearly 30 years prior to this performance... Can you imagine writing something at 17 and having to play it in....to your 70s bc its that good and everyone wants to hear it.. imagine playing that song thousands of thousands of times every single night. I would hate it. Who wouldn't? Great song nonetheless!!!

I worked in a dealership outside of Boston back in the 80's. Aerosmith came in often to rent large vans often. They drove wherever they could back then. They were very cool and down to earth. As a smaller boy I had a paper route and one of my customers was Brad Whitfords parents home. Fridays was collection day and I couldn't wait to go to that home. They would open the door and on the walls were glass framed albums. Good Aerosmith memories

Next night, saw White Zombie and Pantera live at the Shin-Yokohama Civic Center, talked to the sound guy before the concert started and got a pick from Dimebag Darrell, then went with the Pantera road crew (shout out to Kit!) and J. from White Zombie to a bar in Roppongi called Y.Y. I find the difference most striking on this particular song just because of its vibe. Of course you can hear in other songs like Walk This Way but its not nearly as big a deal.

Well... as has been pointed out by others, his voice was better when this was first recorded and it seems, although I could be wrong, that this was just a touch slower than the studio version. But it's still Steven Tyler and the song is recognizable so... Have a listen to the studio version and decide for yourself.

Hi Mr. Video! Remember my comment on the Prince video? I mentioned Steven Tyler. THIS is Steven Tyler singing. My forever favorite rocker EVER. I was 15 when they did Walk this Way in 1975. It was re-released in 1986, recorded with Run DMC as a partnership of rap and rock. It was historical. Steven, the Demon of Screamin! I have been to over 40 live Aerosmith concerts. I been in the front rows when Steven knelt down to greet us. Magic when your that close to a rock god. Joe Perry is an amazing guitarist, but often fighting with Steven. They are known as the Toxic Twins. Love and hate are often the same emotion. Along with Tom, Brad and Joey, Aerosmith has been through fights, addiction, and financial battles with record companies and each other. Through it all, they return to the music and once more it’s back to the harmony. Early on it was sex drug and R&R. They wrote the handbook. Aerosmith defines Rock n’ Roll. Also I always prefer live performance videos. Being at the concerts is amazing.
My favorite recent Steven performance. czcams.com/video/yKWIgvg5YAs/video.html. Watch the faces of his acoustic band. These kids are more than half his age which is about 70 here. Yes he was 70 in this video. These kids are so happy to be just near him!
Thank you! ❤️. Great reaction. That note is still going up!

Your a little late to the party, but I won't hold you responsible, there's a lot of good music out there. Aerosmith have been at it since 1973, the original Bad Boys From Boston. Since you mentioned his screaming, one of Steven Tyler's nicknames is "The Demon Of Screamin'". His other one goes with his parnter in crime Mr. Joe "Fuckin"" Perry, they were known as The Toxic Twins, due to rampant drug use, Hey it's the 70's and the 80's, ya know. Brad Whitford is the other guitar player, really good, as are bassist Tom Hamilton and drummer Joey Kramer. Blues, Rock, Metal, Ballads, and the first real rock/rap mash-up with Run DMC. Have fun with them.
