      @@musicandme4894 Matter of opinion. I've gone both ways for different reasons, but in the 70s and eighties Stairway was always the number 1 song on everyone's list. BR was always in the top 5. Wayne's World gave BR a huge boost in popularity in the nineties but even through that time, Stairway never went away.

    Listening to Zep is weird. You dont know where to focus: bass, guitar, drums, or vocals. Theyre literally an all star team. Everyone is top 10 of all time in their own thing.

      There is a 1 hr. Music special about different guitar techniques with Jimmy Paige, Jack White, and The Edge. When Paige busts into the opening riff of “Whole Lotta Love” Edge and White grin from ear to ear like kids on X-mas morning.

    Do you understand the happiness you are providing for people like me... in my 50s... watching you listen to our music from the past and seeing your reaction? It's the BEST.       Dude I adore You❤ I'll be 51 this year my son 29 I raised him on classic rock just rock and metal starting when he was in my tummy. Music has been my sanctuary I love I instilled a love a music in him. Now the world world today is just so messed up it's so sad, but you oh my watching you discover the greats as well as being open to rock and metal is joyous I love your openness and the way you interpret the music and lyrics. I'm prone to depression and anxiety and 2020 was rough thank you for bringing me back to the music😍 Music = Joy Back then 70s 80s early 90s back when there was talent and musicianship and meaning, not all the autotune crap of today....

    Keep in mind that Led Zeppelin and some of these bands are playing not all that long after Chuck Berry. Much closer to Berry in time than to the present. Zeppelin was 1968-1980. Berry was mainly active from 1955-1972. Point being ... we went from honky tonk rock tunes like Johnny B. Goode to ethereal rock ballads like Stairway in a very short period of time. 👍🎸🔥

    This had me bawling as my Mom just passed away on 8/29/20 from advanced stage ovarian cancer. Thank you for taking me to that emotion, as I haven't been able to let go and let it out bro.       I saw Zeppelin live 5 times. 73, 75 and 77 three times. I saw their last show ever in US in San Fran in July 77 just a couple days before Karac Plant died.

      I only got to see them once, at Madison Square Garden in 1977. They were great. P.S. - Yes Plant was very good looking but so was Jimmy Page imo.

      Don't know if he's still touring, but I just saw Plant in 2018 and he did a bunch of LZ covers with his band and it was amazing. He still sounds like this. Totally worth seeing.

It's one of the best tributes out there!!!!!!!!! To see Robert Plant, Jimmy Page & John Paul Jones witnessing it and see their reactions brings me to tears every time I see it.

    Just like when man landed on the moon, you will ALWAYS remember where you were and what you were doing when you first heard Stairway to Heaven. It's one of those unforgettable moments. Mine was 1974 out in the desert of Arizona. Still an amazing song. There is a reason this is still usually #1 on the greatest rock songs ever charts even 50 years later!

      yes, I had that on VHS when it came out then DVD when it went there, the best stuff ever from beginning to end, another good one is Prince's VHS version of Sign O' The Times, that's his best stuff ever. I recently purchased it here on CZcams for $10, but I had it on VHS since 1987.

      @DLAnder Plant has said himself that the song has a very loose meaning as did most of hos songs at the time. Plant the writer of this song's lyrics was not an occultist or interested in it. That was Page the writer of the music. Which I think has led to lots of misconceptions about the lyrical content here.

    You should listen to Led Zeppelin's "When the Levee Breaks". Their adaptation of a Blues song about the 1920's Mississippi flood that was the worst on record. It killed many and was one of the reasons for "The Great Migration" of Black People to move North for better jobs and lives.

    Mr. Video, that was awesome! You're reaction was spot on! Legendary song, band and music! Look up Legendary in the dictionary, Led Zeppelin's picture is right there. By the way, the studio version is beautiful as well! The live version is a bit more powerful because of Jimmy's extended, passionate, and largely-improvised guitar solo (i.e., he only makes passing reference to the recorded version, uses it as a general guide to refer to, as he free-blows on the rest of it), but both are amazing performances.

    That's why we all love watching you react to all this, cuz you don't just listen and go, "yeah, umm, gee that was great...thanks for the suggestion, peace out" etc. NO, you listen and, you go thru the lyrics and you get inside it and try to understand it, and we see it in your face and in your eyes when you get it. BUt most importantly you FEEL it, and when you feel it, I know exactly what your feeling cuz its the same thing I felt the first time I heard these songs, Decades ago. To me, when that happens, we are brothers. Brothers in music. That's a great thing because I believe music truly does have the power to bring us all together. It doesn't matter that you're a young black man from Toledo Ohio and I'm a 50 something white guy from Newton New Jersey. We're just two PEOPLE sharing the amazing power of music and it's awesome! Thanks for this Mr. V, you take my mind off viruses and politics and elections and all the other bullshit for a little while each day and I thank you.
