Please make extra precautions for your safety when traveling. These days, gang rapes are on the rise, and even while the police are responding quickly, but still some incidents are simply irreversible.
    1) Please don't let the lady start conversations with men before you're comfortable that she is safe. You should always lead the conversation first.
    2) Always carry a sharp weapon and avoid going to deserted or dubious-looking locations. If you happen to find yourself somewhere where you don't see any local women around, get out of there right away.
    3) When choosing a hotel for your stay, always choose well-known brands rather than small, unknown properties.
    4) Have a local number on hand in case you need to phone the police.
    5) Please leave immediately one of you gets intuition that the place is not appropriate. Avoid accepting food or snacks or drink from locals in dubious situations as they might add something malicious to it and make you unconscious.
    6) States like Madhya Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh, Haryana, Chhattisgarh, Jharkhand, and Bihar should be avoided at all costs. Avoid going through those states altogether; You should absolutely not go there. I see you are in Bihar. Please leave for your own safety.
It is always safer to travel in groups if you have buddies with you if you like to visit remote locations. Please heed the advice of your local government as most governments in Europe and the US have issued active cautions against traveling to India owing to safety concerns. Communicate with your country's embassy in India.
Although these precautions are severe, and such incidents are rare but it's better to be safe than sorry. Once upon a time, In India we lived in a wonderful civilization where we used to think that visitors are gods, but now days, rapes, molestation, scams, and harassment are routine and happen often. Because of the large population, cleaning everything will take some time. In the meantime, be careful, cautious, and safe.

@@smitakumar4572 This applies to all of India, not just Bihar. The states I listed are those where it is more likely that something bad can happen. I regret to inform you that, given the events in Jharkhand rape, I would strongly advise all women, especially ones who may still be able, to avoid traveling to India and cancel their tickets. Among the approximately 600 million+ men who live in India, there is no doubt that someone might harass or abuse this couple. and if they put it on CZcams and it becomes public, it will make life extremely difficult for other men like me who reside overseas and we must cope with unrelated consequences of that although we have nothing to do with that. You are aware of how international media puts this kind of news specially when Its about India, and here where I am at the moment, people are calling that every Indian Men is rapist. We just want to live in peace so I am advising them.
