- Welcome back to another vlog here in Trivandrum down in the south Indian state of Kerala! While we were making a quick stop to drop off some laundry, we met a nice local who asked if he could take us to some lunch! He took us to an amazing local restaurant where we got more food than we could handle, not only that, but he also didn't let us pay for the meal either! We got to experience a dose of Kerala hospitality. This is how they treat you in India!

ThankQ dear Indian.
How I wish I can visit India. I think it's a beautiful country with friendly people. Greetings from a Filipino here in Buenos Aires, Argentina.
I'm from Mumbai but seriously i only suggest you to go to the southern part of India or used to call South India, especially for safety and calm and good experience i personally recommend you to visit Kerala and once i visited there and the experience was amazing. Now I'm working in Australia if i get a chance again to visit Kerala, I will ❤
@@mojo824 just proves your ignorance and how less you must have travelled within India
@@Ozukovsky i have own business across everywhere in India so i went most of the places including the worst streets of every states in India due that i know how the people are and the things are running, that's why I recommended Kerala
@@mojo824 But that's gross generalisation based on your experience of certain olaces. Have you visited the villages of Nagaland places like mokokchung rather than only dimapur, how many places of Meghalaya have you visited? How about Sikkim? Mizoram? How many places in Assam have you visited other than Guwahati? Ever been to majuli, digboi, Tezpur?
@@Ozukovsky That's a good question, and the answer is no, I didn't visit each and every single corner, and nobody in the world does that. Nobody can do that. People can only explore and visit some of the major cities, urban villages, and some traffic-strange places. For example, take Colombia. They are known very well for their cocaine business and the murders that happen and are still happening because of that. Does it mean all Colombians are drug dealers and the places are filled with blood? No, it's not. So, the thing is, while comparing with other states in India, Kerala is far ahead. It's very equal to Europe. For example, I mentioned in the comment section at the beginning that I'm from Mumbai, and look at the streets in Mumbai. You can still find many beggars and poor people under the flyovers, but it's not the case in Kerala. I am confident to say this because it's my experience.

South Indian🇮🇳 people are vary honest and humble . Enjoy your ✈️trip I wish you a very happy and safe journey.
Kerala is not like other South Indian states. People are dying for money in other states
What a place!!!Kerala. Almost every person has a car or 2. The most affluent state in India. It's a rarity to see poor people or beggars in Kerala. I'm a solo rider, I can vouch for almost no theft. For example, I can leave my kit and my keys on the bike, not one person will touch it. If I do the same in Bangalore, probably my bike will vanish. Kerala is just different, second to Sri Lanka.
Enough. Kerala is great but its not perfect. Its still a third world place with s*itty infrastructure.
Kerala has a Communist State Government. Does things better
But no one wants to stay there. Almost every one runs to other states for education or jobs😂
@@rajduggal3938 For what good reason will a Keralite work in Kerala or for that matter in India? Even a basic MBBS will get 20x salary even in Malaysia or UAE and a much better standard of living. Plus sending remittances home boosts our economy. In this day and age which Keralite will work in India, for PEANUTS, you must be stupid.

Temples open at prescribed times of the day. The surroundings are accessible at all times but the inside is accessible only at set times during worship.
There are 4 or 5 courses to the Sadhya, all served on the same banana leaf. The starters are the fried chips that they serve on the left side of the leaf, after finishing them you crush the pappadam on the rice and then you can try different combinations of the dishes served on the top part of the leaf, mix a bit of everything or try the dishes one by one with the rice. You can do your own thing, anything goes. After finishing the first helping of rice and the top rows of dishes, they serve you the second serving of rice and sambar as the third course. you can ask for buttermilk with the sambar and rice, or you can have it separately with or without rice as a fourth course. And finally they serve the desserts, two or three varieties of payasams and other sweets which you can eat with the banana. Some Sadhyas, like the grand sadhya they serve on the festival day at the Aranmula temple in Kerala, can have upto 70 dishes.
12:59 Bro the second round rice was for mixing with sambar.. actually the first mix with dal and ghee was a starter. The main course is to be eaten with sambar you should eat according to your instincts and own preferences 😊
I think u are the first foreign tourists to eat sadhya in the most authentic way
Temples are closed mostly during noon. Usually they open Early moring like 5 AM and close around 10 AM, then opens around 5 PM. On festival days some temples are open 24x7.
8:00 - This is not a buffet. It is a thali (i.e. plate meals)
9:30 - Don't mix everything at once. Mix each item separately with the rice.
For the taste and understanding curry one can taste individually then can have everything mix together. That's the way atleast I do and believe it, it elevate the taste altogether on all new level
It is not thali...it's SADHYA.. everything in Indian is North Indian
The thing about sadhya is there are no rules. Just eat it however you like
Thanks to the development work initiated by Modi and Yogi, a lot of foreigners are coming and investing in India.
You eat it all together. Wtf are you talking about?
That was a really cool journey thanks
Temples are having specific timing...And that was an awesome Kerala Sadhya... Usually we eat sadhya on special days like festivals , marriage etc ...but that restaurant serves it daily so anyone visiting them anyday can have it...He was also offering you guys visits to some nice destinations...He was telling that he can take you to those places in his car ,also he can learn english talking to you guys as he is planning to out of the country for some jobs and it might be helpful for him as well
Guys when visiting seaside places should def try vizhinjam chicken and kantari chicken must try
Kerala 'Sadya' is a perfect meal that nourishes your body and mind. As Kerala is the land of Ayurveda, the food here also has medicinal properties.
The temples open in the mornings and evenings mostly ❤

Most temples in Kerala are only open early in the morning and in the evening. Like somewhere in the 4 am to 11 am and 4 pm to 8 pm kind of range.
At first i thought harley couldn't eat that food ...but later he empty the leaf first. And his reaction was amazing..

Hi, unlike churches, Hindu temples are considered places where the Deity resides in. The hindu deities are fed, bathed, woken up early and put to sleep. That's why you cannot visit the temple mid day or during lunch. They open early morning and evenings.
Many temples are closed post lunch time till the evening prayer.

Then headout of city to varkala...one of the best beaches in india
They should've tried Kerala Pork specials from Angamali also. Pork is not available as much as beef in Kerala because of you know who. Pork is only available mostly in Southen Kerala, especially in Kottayam and Kochi and coastal regions of Trivandrum. In other parts, pork is very rare. I love both Pork and Beef, but I love Pork (without fat) far better. It melts in your mouth.

its trivandrum here traditional way is to eat 3 rd round of rice after payassam
After having Payasam we will have a round of rice with rasam, moorucurry. That is the custom even in hindu marriages sadya in travancore.

In middle kerala, we finish sadhya with payasam. No more food after sweet.

Most temples in Kerala tend to be open only during morning and evening and close in between... Regarding whether non-hindus are allowed to enter, in temples that don't allow, they usually have a sign at the gate that says so...
No one telling them how to eat those. Every one saying like mix everything. Is this how malayalies eat. I dont think so. Because im a malayali. Some people didnt like some side dish. Some people didnt like to mix pickles. Some people didnt like much curry or ipperi. Tell them to taste everything seperately then mix the things of their choices.
