  • Welcome back to another vlog here in Trivandrum down in the south Indian state of Kerala! While we were making a quick stop to drop off some laundry, we met a nice local who asked if he could take us to some lunch! He took us to an amazing local restaurant where we got more food than we could handle, not only that, but he also didn't let us pay for the meal either! We got to experience a dose of Kerala hospitality. This is how they treat you in India!

      I'm from Mumbai but seriously i only suggest you to go to the southern part of India or used to call South India, especially for safety and calm and good experience i personally recommend you to visit Kerala and once i visited there and the experience was amazing. Now I'm working in Australia if i get a chance again to visit Kerala, I will ❤

    • @Ozukovsky
      @Ozukovsky Před měsícem +7

      @@mojo824 But that's gross generalisation based on your experience of certain olaces. Have you visited the villages of Nagaland places like mokokchung rather than only dimapur, how many places of Meghalaya have you visited? How about Sikkim? Mizoram? How many places in Assam have you visited other than Guwahati? Ever been to majuli, digboi, Tezpur?

    • @mojo824
      @mojo824 Před měsícem +21

      @@Ozukovsky That's a good question, and the answer is no, I didn't visit each and every single corner, and nobody in the world does that. Nobody can do that. People can only explore and visit some of the major cities, urban villages, and some traffic-strange places. For example, take Colombia. They are known very well for their cocaine business and the murders that happen and are still happening because of that. Does it mean all Colombians are drug dealers and the places are filled with blood? No, it's not. So, the thing is, while comparing with other states in India, Kerala is far ahead. It's very equal to Europe. For example, I mentioned in the comment section at the beginning that I'm from Mumbai, and look at the streets in Mumbai. You can still find many beggars and poor people under the flyovers, but it's not the case in Kerala. I am confident to say this because it's my experience.

    There are 4 or 5 courses to the Sadhya, all served on the same banana leaf. The starters are the fried chips that they serve on the left side of the leaf, after finishing them you crush the pappadam on the rice and then you can try different combinations of the dishes served on the top part of the leaf, mix a bit of everything or try the dishes one by one with the rice. You can do your own thing, anything goes. After finishing the first helping of rice and the top rows of dishes, they serve you the second serving of rice and sambar as the third course. you can ask for buttermilk with the sambar and rice, or you can have it separately with or without rice as a fourth course. And finally they serve the desserts, two or three varieties of payasams and other sweets which you can eat with the banana. Some Sadhyas, like the grand sadhya they serve on the festival day at the Aranmula temple in Kerala, can have upto 70 dishes.

      They should've tried Kerala Pork specials from Angamali also. Pork is not available as much as beef in Kerala because of you know who. Pork is only available mostly in Southen Kerala, especially in Kottayam and Kochi and coastal regions of Trivandrum. In other parts, pork is very rare. I love both Pork and Beef, but I love Pork (without fat) far better. It melts in your mouth.

    When I'm in Trivandrum, i would never go to mother plaza to have Kerala sadhya. I don't like that place , lots of flies and crowd. And I never liked their food either.
    I found another resto "Ruchi" which is a few mins walk from mother plaza and love the food there. Amazing customer service, clean, they give huge quantity of side dishes

    That's how it's done, boys. Congrats on trying a proper Kerala Tali. Now you just need to try all the many local dishes (meat).
    ->You need to go on a cruise, houseboating for a few days, with a personal chef, private bath and bedroom.
    -> Kovalam or Varkala beach, Shiva statue, lighthouse
    -> Visit the temples (Padmanabhaswamy, palace), old churches (bible tower, St. George, St. Marys, )
    -> Fort Kochi and its surroundings
    -> Check out Kalarippayattu (ancient martial arts)
    ->Jattayu statue, and trying out random foods
    -> Food wise, check out (beef and parotta, chicken fry, shrimp pickle(spicy), Pal-appam and curry (has to be fresh, there's a mild version, it is called ishtu), chicken perattu, Kerala fish curry (spicy) and rice
