- Today I install a GlowShift boost gauge into my girlfriend and I's 2002 Volkswagen Beetle. This install will be very similar with other MK4 Beetle's, Jetta's, and Golf GTI's.

You made my day. My buddy and i might be twice your age. Worked on cars together for over 2 decades. Have both worked in shops. Both of us dont mess with vw much. For the life of me, we couldn't find a good excess spot to run the temp gauge and a new power for source for the fans on my girl's beetle 1.8T . Im laughing because we couldn't find that grommet 😂. We angled the light different after seeing where you pulled that. Finally saw it. Was like sob, lol. Thank you. Seriously saved the day buddy!!!
My buddy has a tuned 02 1.8t Beetle. He actually owns 2. One is all blacked out and the other is orange and is his father's. So far, only the black one has been messed with.
Has R8 coil packs, NuSpeed CAI, Emissions delete, Tial BOV, oil catchcan and 3' downpipe and 3' exhaust all the way back. He also used a Turbo S front bumper, and is lowered on some coilovers. Just basic mods I remember off the top of my head.
Planning on switching out the stock KO3 turbo for a KO4 as well. Haven't dynoed but it does peak at 23psi OR a K swap. 🤣🙏🏽
Man, these cars tuned are incredibly fun and make decent power for what it really is.
Huge attention-getter because no one really expects to see a slammed Beetle to be loud and look good. 🤣
Hey cool..I have a 2001 beetle glx turbo.. I s a shame from the factory they only make 6 psi..bought to go stage one and a new diverter valve..down pipe and Ansa exhaust
My 98 tdi has 400+k on it and it runs like dream. 9th of the line in North America. Gunna play with it till it is pristine again.. good video
That was pretty sweet I recently just bought the booth gauge from Harbor freight and I am definitely going to have to reference this video when I install that so thank you for this video
Jocko Moto you’ll have to let me know how the Harbor Freight gauge works!
I’ve heard good things about them, I don’t think that I will be installing the turbo on my Miata until later this season. But I’ll definitely let you know when I do!
I love the intro by the way that video game music is the best
I just got a 1.8T 2004 Beetle Convt. Keep up the good content! Any thoughts on tuning chips?
Is yours dim to the point where you almost cannot even see it in the daylight?
Where i can buy gauge .. have a link?!
How much boost is the motor capable of?
Anand Korrapati the motor with a good tune people say can (supposedly) handle 23-30psi. The stock KO3 turbo, however, people say can (supposedly) output 23ish psi. I have not tested any of these yet so don’t quote me on that!
Carter Maneki knowing from what I see on forums, KO4 turbos are the way to go if you want a ton of boost and power
Anand Korrapati KO4’s are pretty good all around. All depends on what you’re trying to get out of the car, a KO4 is one step up from the KO3 and KO3S. There’s lots of other crazy turbo’s out there, if you’re going through the trouble of a turbo upgrade go big or go home!
There’s something wrong with that car
other than the exhaust leak? How do you figure?
