I will never forget when I worked for a veterinarian. We had an emergency call for a Doberman. Who come in from a crime scene. The owner had been beat up outside. The Doberman saw and jumped through a tempered sliding glass door! This poor dog busted both of his front legs. Knocked out most of his teeth. Had a tremendous amount of swelling on his brain. We figured that was from literally banging his head against that sliding glass door going to attempt to get out numerous times. He made it and saved that owner from probably being murdered from five different men that were jumping him at the time.

My American Doberman Athena just passed away a month ago and it crushed me. Gentle and most ferocious hellhound I've owned or seen, always rubbing up against me and going between my legs total and complete goofyball so much character and personality but she was not to be trifled with by no means. Until her dying day she would and could tear someone apart for me, but was completely docile around my nephews. Ill miss my babygirl till I die and will never forget her such an amazing dog. He has severe separation anxiety he's better now, and eventually, I want to give him a friend and mi familia protection. Not looking for a working line. I'm easy going like the waves and ready to give my arm away if lacking. Pardon my ignorance but what can I expect from a Doberman. More or less the same add attention span a Rottweiler has? Can I leave him to love and protect the house in the suburbs? Even leave him outside alone for at least 15 minutes?

But this come to a price, you have to be present, they bound so much with you that they really suffer your absence. Their sensibility also requires balance, they feel your mood and it affects them more then other breeds.
They are great with childrens, perfect for an appartment (with parks/green areas nearby) and really don't like water, mine simply goes down 😂 and suffers the heath of the beach.

Original Dobermans aka. European Dobermans should be the go-to choice when picking a Doberman for any kind of protection work, including when shopping for a family protection dog. Bigger heads, longer legs, more energy, more alert/serious, much bigger teeth and they bond very, very strongly to the people they live with. They are the type of dog to have the wisdom and intelligence of a mastiff, in a more compact body.

I have a little Mini Doberman Pincher, he's about six years old; and he's the love of my life. Although he's not good around other dogs at all (except for the older chihuahua he grew up with), and he will most definitely try and attack or intimidate a dog of any other size. He has a bit of mobility issues after a slip disk surgery about two years ago, but that didn't even put a damper on his protective instinct. Some people can touch him, but some other people just makes him growl. He's bonded to me, but he loves his daddy just as much and will smile happily when he gets home. I never see anyone make videos like these about them though. They're great little dogs if you need something small in your house to alert you. They're nothing like chihuahua's, but somehow people always think they are.

My last dog, Lexie, was a Rotterman (Rottweiler + Doberman). She was definitely ride or die, all business, no play. Never felt safer with her watching over me and my family while we slept. She would get up at night and patrol the house and come right back to bed if she heard any type of noise. She wasn’t great with strangers tho which was okay with me. It took a few visits for her to trust non family in the home. Amazing sweet girl! So smart! Training was a breeze with her and you could definitely tell she WANTED to work. Unfortunately, she only blessed us with 10.5 years bc she got liver cancer and by the time it was diagnosed it was inoperable. Miss my Lexie every day. I love how every specific positive of a dog breed is also why it could be a negative, it’s a double-edged sword. Since the Doberman is so capable, smart, and powerful, it can be an amazing dog to train, but also those three components make them have higher potential to be more of a problem if you don’t train them.

It's problem is it thinks or analyzes the situation before attack. He is gonna determine if suspect has a weapon and if that weapon can inflict pain he will judge how he attacks may even toy with criminal for entertainment đŸ€· that is how smart they are, the don't act on impulse like German Shepherd and malinios they will just run up despite what criminal has that is why cops use them the most. a doberman would make a good long term running or tracking dog for police turn him loose when he catches up to criminal he can be trained to hold him with barking and intimidating doberman stompđŸ€Ł I wouldn't turn him lose if criminal has a gun possibly
