- Join me on the final leg of my unforgettable motorcycle journey to the southern most point of Thailand, right at the Thailand-Malaysia border crossing. After two adventurous months on the road starting from Bangkok, I finally reach the end of my travels in the beautiful Yala Province, where you will, find the most southern point in Thailand.
Riding through the breathtaking landscapes of Betong Thailand, I navigate through police checkpoints and brave the heavy rains, all while being surrounded by the stunning mountain views that define this region in Southern Thailand. Betong Thailand makes for a stunning motorcycle ride.
I took a little detour to check out the interesting history of Yala, visiting the Piyamit Tunnel. This place is fascinating with an important story to tell. It was once a fortress for the Communist Party of Malaya. Walking through the tunnel I am uncomfortable with the stories from the past that my guide told me about.
This video is the culmination of my epic Thai motorcycle journey from Bangkok To Yala Thailand. It's been a wild ride, filled with challenges, breathtaking scenery, incredible food, learning about Thai culture and history. It was filled with ups and downs, highs and lows. This is where I finally complete my journey in Thailand.
So, buckle up and join me on this final stretch as I share the highs and lows, the twists and turns of my incredible journey to Thailand's southern border. It's been an adventure from Bangkok and I cannot wait to share the final leg with you.

It was an interesting tour to the South, Looking forward to doing my self. You and Paddy Doyle are braver than me riding across Thailand on a tiny motorcycle. Those under ground tunnels are amazing. Great Thai series of videos.

I loved it in the Deep South
Malaysian especially live in border always travel to Narathiwat, yala, pattani
These provinces are probably the safest since no one goes there, and they get bad publicity, plus the Thai Military presence. G8 video
you are right actually, I felt safer than ever in these places!
You mentioned that due to colonialism, this camp existed.
Frankly, the british landed in the peninsula long before communism ideology. There is no need to use such excuses to attack malayan forces and British forces and planters.
Secondly, it was the thais that allowed the japanese free passage from thailand and attacked malaya via kota bahru , kelantan. Killing many civilians and British forces and many forced to worked at the river kwai to myanmar(bridge on the river kwai).
Although cpm (communist party of malaya) said it was them who drove away the japanese and British during and after ww2, it was the british that trained them guerilla warfare and they turned against their trainer, master like Osama bin laden against usa and cia.
There is no gratitude in this world
that sounds too political to get in to. either way, it was a fascinating stop
