Sublime videos young man good to hear you a fellow Toon Army member. Is that accent posh Jesmond? lol
I'm curious, how often do you fill up on gas? Where do you stop? Especially in the rural areas? How much are you spending? Just a thought
Paddy Skywalker feeling a disturbance in the force.
Will always love people giving their honest opinion.
Hey Paddy,
Last night insurgents attacked Rangers at a Defence Volunteer outpost in north east, Narathiwat. Result: 1 insurgent killed. Hence the soldiers.
Right on the money. After the outpost attack they have stepped up security.
Moral of the story “follow your gut instinct”
Moral of the story, when Paddy is in a sour mood, give him 3 beers and he will be all smiles.
Agreed! I believe it's called withdrawal symptoms! 😂😂😂
Whenever you record voiceover now I cant help envisioning you hidden under a pillow in your hotel room lol
Should've kept it a secret lol
Same
Same😂
No need to apologize for feeling uneasy at the cave. Always trust your gut feelings. Thanks for showing me some things that I will skip on my next trip. You’ve saved me time and money.
Always, always listen when the hairs on the back of your neck stand up! You did the right thing and left. You are very much alone there and the smiles can turn to frowns really quickly when things go south. Enjoying your videos very much.
Paddy, you are always straight with your viewers and for that I love you. Following you is a great pleasure.
I imagine if something BIG happened, then that's when the security checkpoints stop everybody and essentially close down the perimeter until they find who did it.
So unless a terrible event happens, security basically does nothing aside from be ready to close the gates both in and out, so to speak.
From reading the comments, I can tell this will be an unpopular opinion but oh well. :) I have no problem with capitalism. If someone wants to offer a service and I don't believe it's fair market price, I will essentially walk. Although I only visit Thailand each year, I lived in Philippines and they have their own version of these money grabs and farang (puti) pricing. What I love about your vlogs is it's real. You're not putting on the typical vlogger fake smile about every place you visit. Your authenticity is what makes this channel special.
Another great video! I really enjoy the scenery while your driving.
Watching paddy on his adventures first thing in the morning is awesome. Paddy...you are making me miss southern Thailand so much!
Never seen your videos before, and this was awesome. Subscribed! (Now I've gotta go back and watch all your previous videos!)
Nice 👍 video I like it that you said what you really felt and did not sugarcoat it. Often times CZcamsrs just say everything is great. You are a positive guy who always has fun but it’s nice to see you complain once in a while as well when it is warranted. Like button smashed.
Yala seems to have an almost northern Thailand vibe going with all the mist, mountains and lush green jungle.
Adding it to the ever growing Thai bucket list. Thanks for sharing your experience Paddy!
Hi Paddy, heartfelt congratulations 👏👏 for reaching the 50000th subscriber! Look forward to watchng your next vlogs. 🍺🍺🍺
Wow Paddy’s Channel is amazing, you’ve done things amazing, things that’s unbelievable, things that Thai people going to say wow!!
Livin life on the edge! you rock, Paddy!
I really like this journey. It's so calm and soothing for my mind. I am looking forward to new videos from you! Thanks! : )
Great series PD ... and on a journey to 20k subs 😀👍🏼
Great stuff man safe travels on the bike
Looking at the sky and the atmosphere, the weather and the air quality must be amazing!!!
It's a shame that ruin abit of your fun ,but when your not comfortable listen to your inter voice
I think you got up on the wrong side of the bed you where miserable
Thank you what a fun journey. Keep up the amazing adventure. Dan from Australia
Great video Paddy! Glad you were able to end the long day with Moo and three glasses of beer 🍺! Love how friendly and helpful he was and the fact that he could speak English! Go Ayala, go Thailand 🇹🇭! Stay safe Paddy. We’re routing for you!
Thanks dude 😁
You wear the shoe covers because little rocks that get stuck in the grooves in the soles of your shoes could scratch the glass panels.
You’re killin’ it bro’. Bless you.
Great adventure, thank you for coming to Thailand💕💪😆
Hey Paddy it’s great to see your having a good time! I was a teacher in Khonkaen for 2 years! Hope to get back in the future ! I’m now teaching online back home for a while until things get back to normal ! Stay safe enjoy every moment as I wish I was back !
What a great finish of the day with the funny man!
Wow very cool Paddy, I like your b roll and map effects ! :]
Cheers mate 😘
Another great vlog. This one reminds me why I love Thailand, 99% brilliant and friendly but can very occasionally be more challenging, Thais are almost all very friendly but when they do stroppy they really do it. I think where right to move on from cave - you are clearly hugely experienced and if your gut is telling you something is not right you are not being a wimp to listen to it. I agree that sky view point was a bit or a con and I agree that it is never good to feel that you are being ripped off. Great to end on a high though with Moo who epitomises some of best of Thailand regarding human relations. I look forward to next one. This series really is really next level.
Love the new format! It's great to learn a bit of Thai as well as we're considering moving there. Now I know the word for ice tea :).
‘Cha’ = Tea, ‘Ma-now’ = Lime/Lemon (In regard to this drink). It’s not ‘Chai ma-now’ as Paddy said in the video. He had a lot on his mind, and so it was probably a slip of the tongue 🙂 There are hot or cold versions...so ‘cha ma-now yen’ for the cold version, and ‘cha ma-now ron’ for the hot.
A regular iced tea would be ‘Cha dum yen’ (dum = black), and ‘Cha Yen’ would get you an iced Thai milk tea.
Keep up the good work Paddy.
Great Video again. The Motorbike Scam is a shame, but at the End it was all good, the guy in the Hotel was amazing. Beautiful Landscape
I have covid and I am isolated, your travel videos are the highlight of my day. keep it up!
You gotta love Thailand !! I do !! And I love you for taking me around !! My little helmet and me are ready for the next tour.....
Oh Paddy, I do so love your vlogs but this one was top class. It brought me right back to my first trip to Thailand back in 1997, when my buddy Dave got so exasperated by what he perceived as being taken advantage of that he ended up in a fight with some poor tuktuk driver over 10 baht. I had to remind him that it was about 15p at the time but he'd already lost the plot at that stage. Happy memories 😁
Great video again!
Thanks very much Paddy for beeing my "proxy traveller" since unable to go to Thailand now. Take care!
Paul L.
Thanks Paul 💓
Up the toon! Great to see Thailand repping their support for the best team!
Ha'way the lads
Hiya. Always great content. Beautiful cave. Your gut feeling is definitely the one to follow. Love the singing. Haha. Get the right gear. Pmsl. You always make me smile.
Beautiful scenery. Feel what you are saying. Definitely. A rip-off. Shite walk. Haha. You are brilliant. Thank you for sharing. You always give me a giggle. Have a great weekend. Safe Travels.
Paddy, well I’m sure you already knew it’s not gonna always be a pleasant experience everywhere you go. But, still the scenic routes with the tunnel/cave was pretty cool to see. Get some rest and regroup for the next adventure, mate. 😊👍
Great video's Paddy when do you think you will get to Loei?
Paddy I love hearing your reasons for not spending time in the cave. Fair point. Best to get a Thai guide like Indigo traveller does for his videos , Will make travel alot safer . I love seeing the real Thailand .
A guide requires extra Baht. So me thinks O'l Paddy won't be splash'n out the dough vary soon, for that ?
I'll take the "RAW" Paddy , any day of the week....
Have a good trip❤️
nice video and nice song ...paddy !
I feel you, Paddy!!!
Hey! Great to see your video and so proud of you that you're not scared to be in Yala. I mean I grow up in Yala and I do get scared or get chilled when I saw the military moving around too 😂 feel like I'm gonna get in trouble.
Anyway, welcome to Yala! Even though I'm Yala people myself but I've never been in Betong once 😂
(PS. As a Melayu person, it pronounce Jala actually)
Been watching you for a little while now not in the right order though just whichever video CZcams shows me next. Loving the videos though, also never would have guessed you were a Newcastle fan, I am from Newcastle so support them as well, like a form of torture at the minute though haha.
Nice Suzuki vstrom on that bridge too !
I know this was sooooo long ago, and that you were really trying to get people to be less worried about going to Yala (which is appreciated, but not 100% your responsibility to convince people of that, not meaning that in a rude way).
I just wanted to say, it's definitely okay to turn around and not enjoy an attraction if you have a weird feeling about it! Military or not! You're okay to make these decisions for you! As a solo traveler myself, I like to see and relate to others experiencing that, and everything not being sunshine and flowers all the time!! ❤🤍💙🤍❤
Love the vids! You clocked the Newcastle badge on the bike, and I noticed you said 'Toon' in a previous video as well... where are you from?
I love love his honesty! Lol
Your attitude is superb 👍👍👍. I wish I can join you😃
Haha, what a nice guy at the end of the video, invite you for a small drinking session - I love those random experiences when traveling through Thailand, as there is always something unexpected happening. Sometimes you drive, it's raining, you pissed at something and in bad mood, then out of nowhere you being invited, or join a street party and all the mood is switched again - as said there is always the unexpected that cheers you up again!
What a rip off with the motorbikes to the top - for this price I can tell my bike driver to wait for me until return in all other Thailand countryside places and they will happily do so - but this was a rip off - you are right - it destroys the enjoyment of the really great view!
Great video - I like it when you just drive, and just talk about whatever goes randomly through your brain.... - so we may follow and feel with you the way of your journey...- well done
Northern Peninsular too very beautiful Kelantan and Terengganu
Great video again! For your general knowledge: Stalagmites are the ones that come out of the floor, stalagtites the ones that come from the ceiling :)
Paddy, I think the main reason they do not allow your and visitors’ motor bikes or cars to drive up all the way to the top of the skywalk is because there is not enough parking space there. I heard that that skywalk is quite famous, a big crowd would normally show up to see an ocean of cloud/fog covering the valley in the dawn. Have fun and be safe!
Don't worry Paddy, I've seen much the same in the Philippines. You park here, ride a jeep up a hill 300 meters then you walk some more, paying 30 or 50 pesos at each step. Having the parking does usually allow some control over where most of the litter is, plus it helps control how many people are in the "attraction " at peak times. Plus it gives them a place to assemble a bunch of vendors to peddle water or tea and snacks and so on.
Totally understand, it’s the principe. It sets a tone / vibe that is hard to recover from. Unhappy staff is a massive pet peeve of mine too. Loved the reception from Moo & family! Lovely peeps!
You are GREAT man...
Should have kept filming would have like to seen your dinner .love seeing your adventures. And the food along the way see how it changes or doesn't. 😊
Hi Paddy, I've followed your channel quite some time, just notice you too a magpies fan. Will check out your others video. 🙂
I look forward to next Vlog
had a off day. keep your chin up paddy 😎
I understand u disappoint with the 20baht. Me i would just go back , or go up walking. Thanks for share with us this fantastc videos. I enjoy your transparency.
Enjoy the people ! Enjoy Thai culture. Been there many times. Yala is full of nice people. No place is perfect.
Hey Paddy, i just did the Pattani to Pyamit tunnel road trip on motorcycle, it was absolutely, absolutely, absolutely fabelous, thanks for recommending it.
Glad you enjoyed it
You had me in stitches with your reaction to the soldiers and the
skywalk , I just have to subscribe. Great videos Paddy.
Tank you, love Thailand
Take really good care paddy. Sometimes we have to change our plans.
Was in Betong New Year's Eve 31st Dec 2019. At midnight fireworks went off along with a grenade attack on a Police Post that scared the crap out of all of us. Will never return there in this lifetime
So jealous not a bad life just traveling about , I've booked for Thailand October ready to risk it all and use whatever savings I have to travel for a few months...cant come quick enough just hoping the pandemic chills by then
‘Shite walk’ followed by that laugh.. hahaha.. you’re hilarious mate 😂😂. Rest well bro, the vibrations from a low CC Honda can really take a toll on your body on a long trip
this mood might b lacking of beer too long time😂
Feel like 20 bahts would help local people with jobs since no tourist and the pandemic 😷
Yeah, uncool vibes! Stay safe...
You are my new favorite farang on a bike blogger.
Thanks 😊
Another fun video, Paddy. If there's a way to mount another small mirror on that GoPro mount on the top of your handle bars, then we can see your face a bit when you do the motorcycle POV shots.
Yeah I think that would be good... How to do it.....????
Great video, Yala is a lovely place to discover and not only Betong, come back visit us!
Stay safe Down there n have a great time
I will 💓💓
beautiful video paddy but dont go through Colombia and Venezuela like I did!, seriously you re right to air on the side of caution, looks a gorgeous place, very enjoyable an might head down there some time
Shalom my friend TQ for coming to my province....
23 April 2021: In the Southern Province of Narathiwat Rangers received a report that a bomb had been thrown at a volunteer outpost in the Yi-Ngo district. No one was injured in the explosion. 6 men on 3 motorcycle were reported to have attacked the outpost. When rangers spotted the suspects shots were fired and one man was killed.
The rangers arrested 2 men, then seized an assault rifle and the 3 motorcycles. 2 suspects fled the scene. No rangers were killed on the attack.
Stay safe Paddy.
Many many anywhere 😂 The Force is with you, young Skywalker
His motorbike rides remind me of rollercoaster videos where the daring raise their hands to prove their bravado!
Taxi con😂. Happens even to the most experienced traveler. Luv it paddy keep em coming😂
Beautiful part of Thailand, similar to the North
Living in South Africa I've gotten so used to seeing weapons like that all the time and worked in a gun shop when I was younger, but when you get that uneasy feeling you listen to it, no matter where you are
Nice place 👍🏻🥰
If you go to Satun check out the Phu Pha Phet Cave. It's awesome, khrap.
Newcastle paddy! That's the best geordy accent you've got there mate😉
Got a notification saying I got a love...hmmm🤔
Paaddy if go to the ayer weng view point we go early morning then you can see the great view .
You come wrong time thats why the view not ok
I guess they can charge people like that because the majority of people don't realize how close it is to the top🤷🏻♀️... but now thanks to you we won't fall for it!🤭
We love your videos 😍 nice job!
I travelled on a boat on a river near Chiang Mai/Chiang Rai in 1991 with a border guard with a M16 sitting in the bow.. nevermind he was asleep for most of the trip..
When the nice fella with the big beers said Chong gou it means clink glasses 🥂🍻
Definitely not stupid... Listen to your gut and stay safe💜
Paddy you got a cold beer at last. I could see you trying not to down it!
Shy Walk ...ha...ha.. ha.. it's fun hearing you laugh like that.
Paddy you need a little tiny nodding dog to mount to the top of your bike 😂 next to your usb stick charger (I believe) that shakes with the different terrain 😁!!!
