The Hai Van Pass looks beautiful! Having your own motorbike gives you so much more freedom than going on with a rider. I caught a train this year, but travelling Vietnam by motorbike is definitely on my bucket list!

Hey Paddy, serious question here. I am going to be in Thailand in June, and I am planning on doing a one week motorbike trip somewhere in the north. I am extremely torn between Nan and Chiang Rai. Your videos from both look incredible. I am slightly leaning towards Chiang Rai, because the places like Pu Chi Fah look amazing. Which would you recommend more?

Loved this video, I realize this is not the way you wished to end your magnificent journey through the Vietnam but it gives the whole Vietnam series such pure, honest and realistic impression. Sometimes the things just go wrong and it is so good to be able to see it, it is so much better to end on a realistic low note than be fake or hypocritical for views/clicks/clout. Thanks for the videos! Keep doing what you doing, you inspire others to go on our little advetures!

Been there done that but you definitely present it in better light. Nice work.

Why not do it in winter and do much shorter days? Things like sufficient lights on the bike are easy fixed. You should also be wearing a reflective hi-vis vest or birhg clothes/backpack. Anyhow take time to recuperate and imagine your next adventure.

my wife has her home in that area, beautiful area with lots of temples, mountain paths and a pretty big lake where you can swim and eat & chill at the lake with some cheap restaurants. Nr. 1 hint of Thailand and especially Isan: NEVER go anywhere without water! Nr. 2 hint of Thailand: if you can get a guide, especially if you can't read Thai language. Nr. 3 hint of Thailand: don't believe the locals when you ask about directions. Thais might not always understand what you ask and more importantly might not now it even if they understand it. they will NEVER under any circumstance tell you that they don't know. they would lose face, so they tell you SOMETHING which might or might NOT be correct (mostly not). 🙂 Nr. 4 hint of Thailand: don't expect any tourist atraction to have western safety standards. i have been to hotel areas in famous tourist spotos like koh phi phi and koh lipe (beautiful islands) and you have some official paths that are absolutely deadly! from a cliff side wooden path patched together barely holding on to some mountain or hill path on the edge of falling down. one particular one i found at koh phi phi which would make you walk on big stone tiles at the edge of a mountainous area lying loose on sandy ground with an old half-rotten robe to hold you (was at koh phi phi, short route to one of the secluded main beaches). like literally ... walk with OPEN eyes and the mindset that if you slip or not look that you might die 🙂.

I like your idea to do "smaller" travel (mostly?) around Thailand in the future. IMO, you made some of the best Thailand-specific travel content with your initial trip around the provinces with Dreamy, but I'm sure there's a lot you either missed or saw but weren't able to cover due to lack of time, etc. It would be nice to see some more filling in the gaps. It might even be neat if you did mixed in more interview content, perhaps from locals of the places you visit.
