I remember going there and staying overnight in the late-80s. It was both beautiful and eerie. I slept on a hard wooden floor in the hut of a family who spoke no English. Interesting experience.

Went twice to Koh Panyee... There's so much more to see there than just shops for tourists. You gave justice to this wonderful place, no matter who you played football with!
Visited this floating village back in 2016. The football pitch here is legendary-it's even recognized by FIFA! The players here have incredible street skills, thanks to the unique floating training ground that enhances balance like nothing else. This small village has produced some truly legendary street ball players.
In the early 90's my Thai girlfriend's family collected all the garbage trash in a large 'longtail boat'. They lived opposite Koh Phan Yee. I often helped them after all the tourists had gone . Early evening and we would load all the stinking sacks full of seafood parts and plastics. We went to a carefully hidden disposal incinerator somewhere behind a nearby island! We unloaded the sacks for the later burning. I often see the pictures of this place and I'm sure people would never realize what happens to the trash created there! I'm amazed I did that! Good vlog!

I play footy on my travels as well Paddy... Great way to meet locals and make connections. And the trophy you couldn't identify was the Club World Cup...

Yes mate, you seem to have found something on your return to Thailand, keep up your intriguing life.
One of the most magical nights of my life was spent having dinner there last December. We had done an afternoon boat tour and arrived at 5:30 to have dinner. We were the only tourists on the island and was able to listen to the calling to prayer which I filmed and sent to a Muslim friend who now wants to take his family.
Beautifully filmed Paddy, have been there a couple of times but never stayed over

Wat Chedi (Ai Kai) this temple is the reason you see chicken figures all over Thailand, it’s in a beautiful area and one off the only temple that feel and looks different then other 40k.. google image it you’ll see what I mean lol. But I found it fun and interesting

Absolutely! Koh Phayam on the Andaman side of the peninsula, north of Phuket. Magical relatively small island which was not overrun with tourists in 2018 when we stayed in a gorgeous little bungalow at Sabai Sabai Bungalows. Right on a beautiful beach. Well worth a few days stay
I stayed on Koh Yao Noi for a couple of weeks last year and visited Koh Hong for a day.. so beautiful, the views are just chef's kiss 😃 Definitely worth a trip! Thank you for your beautiful work, Paddy, I love watching your videos!
If you're itching to go back, there's some epic rock climbing on that island as well. I know there used to be a couple climbing guides that'd take people there.

i chuckled when you said "at what age do we start walking with hands on your back?" I subconsciously am doing it for quite few years!
15 Jan 2020, before the world closed down we were lucky to spend the late afternoon on the village . Even then no one was playing on the pitch. The kids were playing footy though in the school grounds. We really enjoyed our day on the long boat going through the pinnacles. Thanks for jogging my memories.
This place is located in Southern Thailand. I've been there, they are original immigrants from Indonesia, precisely from Java, who established settlements in Thai waters, but by the Thai government they were given citizenship rights.
