Agreed with Ed's take on Elon. Elon is NOT Tony Stark. Stark is actually the genius behind his own products. He's the brains, the engineer, and designer behind his own products. Elon is just the money. Elon is not the guy sitting in the lab creating these products. Bugs the hell out of me when people think Elon is the "genius" who designed the Tesla cars. His team of engineers did. He just provided the funding to make it happen.
And he lies about his accomplishments too and not only about the Tesla.
Ironically, he's like Edison who did similar and screwed Tesla over.
you still need a technical understanding to quarterback these efforts. It's not as if Elon is a hands-off investor like Warren Buffet. There's a CLEAR difference between the two

I love how your podcasts always start with interesting topics you guys genuinely love and then it sometimes delves into other serious life questions based on your own insight but at the same time is very relatable. Ed's point about Elon on people blindly worshipping him as a god was very interesting in terms of critical thinking to me because a lot of people who have access to twitter, ig/fb and etc do not exactly need to be "smart" or understand critical thinking which leads to people not questioning the information they get online whether it be from "influencers" , celebrities or whoever online. Either way though social media has its pros and cons obviously but to me the pros outweigh the cons and I am not forced to be on social media if I don't have to which I feel is important because sometimes you need a break from certain things. Regardless of whether or not you read this, thank you David for these educational and entertaining podcasts. If you do read this bro, huge fan XD, you funny af and I love your humor even though I know some people can't handle that shit or are intolerant but deep down I feel you are a genuine person from what I perceive but who knows maybe its all a façade hahaha JK

Ya'll tripping LMAO. Jake and Anderson Silva showed each other a lot of respect and Anderson Silva definitely was out there to fuck Jake up but just didn't have the better game plan the night of. Super close fight up until the 8th round. Genius move for JP to pick MMA stars cause they got the draw and MMA fans to buy into it. As for his opponents, pretty dangerous opponents given the guy has no amateur background and of course he's not gonna go fight really good boxing prospects given that he's tryna sell PPV's too as a main event, they'd have to have star power too.
PPV sales were 200-300k which is still pretty damn good since it's unrealistic to expect more consistently cause Jake doesn't have that type of draw for typical boxing fans.

If you think tech employees doesn't do actual work, you should see public employees. Personally, I don't care how much the private sector is paid. You should see the salaries and pension of public employees. They "work" like half the day. Huge salaries and bloated pensions.

As someone who enjoys TikTok and has accumulated 1 million followers while lowkey doing nothing. (I post the same video of myself walking in snow and occasionally add a quote or a different clip after my intro that leads people to speculate where I am, as fans who get the inside joke answer with Jabari Mountain, which is in Wakanda.) 😆 Many of the things you guys have said are true. What I've noticed is that many CZcamsrs are talking negatively about TikTok, much like comedians, actors, and radio / television personalities used to talk bad about CZcamsrs. But just as CZcams is more than just cats, dogs, and funny compilation videos, TikTok also has a lot of incredible talented users (I'm just not one of them lol) And once the algorithm gets to know you, it will start showing you awesome people rather than just titi wiggling see-through T-shirt wearing girls. 😂 Furthermore, didn't even CZcams go through a "lip singing" phase? People are still getting used to TikTok because it is still so new. For instance, I used to create CZcams-like high production videos with topics that took me days to make and hours to edit on a computer only for it to fail on TikTok. However, these days I typically open TikTok whiles using the toilet, reply to a few comments, then post a video or edit that, to be honest, doesn't even take a minute to edit with an app and often receives tons of views, from which some follow me on Instagram, where I have my clothing brand/merch, and a small but crazy community from whom a handful of fully grown adults are paying me 35 euros a month to get a follow back on TikTok. (That they begged for & I still can't believe is my life is right now) 😅 However, a lot of individuals are leveraging the platform that doesn't pay us well to develop concepts that make them foolish money. Anyways, CZcams also had a lot of BS. The cycle is just repeating itself, and Jesus is coming tomorrow... I'm sorry, I don't know how to end this essay & forgot what point I was even making. 🤣 This is proof of how much TikTok has killed my attention span haha. Typically you get and do a company audit to some degree during the buy out process. But yea Elon is just quirky. He's been doing this tho so I'm not sure why people think this is wild.
Actually with his companies they most likely would not succeed without him. Hes not a marketer, he likes a concept and fig out how to get it done. It's biased to say he doesn't do anything. He's an engineer ultimately. I do think he should pay his employees more and chill out but that's a whole other convo.

Many of your critiques of Elon are certainly valid, and Elon fan boys do indeed think he can do no wrong. Elon deserves plenty of criticism. However, your assertions regarding him in terms of Tesla and other ventures are kind of off base, and seem like you don’t know a lot about these companies. Elon is technically not an engineer, but he does indeed have the knowledge base to do engineering in both Tesla and a SpaceX. I have met several engineers from these companies, and have seen enough interviews regarding these companies to know that Elon does know quite a bit about these subjects. He is also fairly well known to have fairly high level conversions with subject matter experts in many areas of technology. In terms of his timelines. For those of us that have followed these spaces for years, we all know that there is Elon time, and there is reality. It’s really not that unique to Elon, as many folks in tech, and even in other industries promise big things, and things do not necessarily pan out exactly as planned. That is kind of the reality of solving complex problems. You have optimistic goals, and reality slaps you in the face. I would argue that the general public needs to become better at being more skeptical at any claim made by a technologist. They are human beings after all.
Fine, I’ll be that nerd/ tesla fanboy. Elon delivers late, but he does always delivers because it’s usually something that’s never been done before. Tesla for example, mass produced an electric car that has a profit margin greater than gas cars. And their end product usually has better specs than the concept they unveiled and keeps getting better due to over the air update…. where as other car manufacturers can’t never mass produce a car that is better than their concept nor can they make a profit from selling electric cars. Feel free to make fun of Elon all you want in the name of comedy, especially if you pay 8$ on Twitter. But talking shit like you know what you’re talking about, you’re gonna get the “slight push back” Andrew Schultz style
