The Mariners winning this imaginary world series is somehow enough to make my day.
As a Ranger fan... I'm glad you're happy lol the Rangers sucked in this AU.
@@pdraggy The Mariners suck in OUR universe. This is all we got, man.
I swear every time Bailey says “Remember him?” in that dog-owner-like candor, I’m just nodding profusely! Yes! I remember Everth Cabrera! I remember Chris Denorfia! We loved our terrible mid-2010s Padres teams.
Chris Denorfia!
WHO???
Will venable and chase headley were kings!

26:56 A weird stat line for Tim Lincecum. A game where he lost 3-2. Went 8.2 and gave up 3 earned runs. I can only imagine how heartbreaking that game was, was going for the complete game shutout and gave up a walk-off 3-run homer.
Why am I crying in the Metaverse right now
It wasn't a walk-off 3-run homer, it says he didn't give up a HR.
good catch. that would be a heartbreaker
@@kylejohansen689 bases loaded 2 out double might be even more heartbreaking
this almost happened to aaron nola this year, had a shutout into the 9th (perfect game blown in 7th) and gave up a 2 run hr to tie it. padres ended up winning on a walk off
On the edge of my seat waiting to see whether Bailey remembered to move the Astros to the AL West
Never should have happened to begin with. Will never forgive Bid Selig for taking advantage of the Astros ownership situation instead of moving the Brewers back to the AL where they belong.
@@hutsonizer7548Well, now we're all stuck with the DH, so a moot point by this point in time.
@MontagnaMagica stuck with? It was needed..watching pitchers hit was boring af aside from the couple who were actually competent
Foolish Baseball and an alternate universe?!?! now that’s what I call an exciting combination.
Now that's Baseballing!
This isn't foolish baseball this is foolish bailey
@@Mangi-cx5me but he's foolish and playing a baseball game so this video is in fact "foolish baseball"
@@Mangi-cx5me They're Technically The Same Person
@@futuregohan4837in what other way can one be “the same person”
Miggy did win the triple crown. It’s league based and a National League Posey was the only person with a higher avg. so Miggy once again won his triple crown. (Fun fact: when Miguel Cabrera won the triple crown in 2012 Posey, Melky Cabrera, and Joey Votto had higher avg. funny that in a resimulation posey would still beat him)
I remember the MelkMan that season. There were people that dressed up as cows at Giants games, too bad he was on the roids
First ballot hall of famers just do stuff like that
Na it’s mlb wide
@@EvanS_-no, the triple crown is restricted to your league, as in AL or NL. That’s why Goldy and Judge both potentially winning the triple was a huge conversation in early august

I can't get over Ruben Rivera, whose last MLB season was 2003, randomly being an all star for the Rays lol
rays gonna rays
I just looked him up and he was still playing in Mexico in 2019, when he turned 46. He got about 6000 ABs in Mexico after leaving the majors. No wonder the Rays wanted him!
Giants fans remember Rueben Rivera for the “worst base running on the history of the game”
As a Mariners fan, I am both sad and sad.
but you won the WS?
@E.W. Hans I still wake up in a cold sweat from time to time thinking about the Erik Bedard trade, both because of the "what if he stayed healthy" factor, and the fact that we gave up Adam Jones for him. Seeing that name so much in a 2 hour span is bad for our collective mental health up here in Seattle
@E.W. Hans don’t start rooting for them now, speaking from personal experience it’s a lot of dick punches and “almosts”
Looks at thumbnail:
Cool, there's an AU where Felix Hernandez might pitch in the playoffs
Looks at video length:
Holy Shit.
30:25-No matter where, no matter how, the WARlord is inevitable
wait till you see his second season.
We might see Oscar Tarveras, Tommy Hanson, Jose Fernandez, Yordano Ventura, Luis Valbuena, and Tyler Skaggs have much longer careers. R.I.P. To all these young men who had crazy high ceilings...
I’ve done watcher saves like this in OOTP from 1871-present and the first greatest player of all time, was some guy who irl played 3 season and had like 200 PA. Seeing how this game handles the sim engine is so great, anything and everything can change!!!
"Remember Danny Espinosa...
I mean it wasn't a great year, but he played"
As a Nats fan that sounds about right lol
Can we... can we just talk about how the Padres completely imploded after the all-star break in year 1? Also in the most padres-like way?
Hopefully Bauer can keep his hands to himself in this universe
watch his video that he uploaded a couple days ago, he did keep his hands to himself lol
@@bryan7748 unconscious people can’t give consent😳
@@ermwhatthefreak1 this aged poorly
An interesting part of the alternate reality aspect of this episode is the lack of a biogenesis scandal. I believe Melky Cabreba was implicated in that and in this save he has had two great seasons to start it off. We also saw Ryan Braun have a monster season in 2012 and not get suspended in 2013. Yasmani Grandal would have also been suspended in 2013.
Also side note, the a's have had 2 consecutive rookie of the year winners. Will be interested to see if they have a dynasty that clashes with the young royals dynasty again.
22:17
Joey Gallo appears to be the Rangers starting third baseman as early as 2012, when he was 19 years old.
Lol I saw the same thing and was so confused
Joey Gallo Debuted In 2015
@@falocan54 He came up as a Corner Infielder, but he was so bad at 3rd, and Beltre had that spot, that he was forced to move to 1B. He was even worse there, plus he couldn't use his ++ arm, so they moved him to LF.
perhaps in this universe we're watching silly bailey
Tod Wilhelmson had a 705 ERA+ & came second in the 2013 AL reliever of the year. I don't know if that's a miscalculation or something but that's insane
Ya...I was confused by that. How did a guy with minimal saves, almost no WAR, and double his ERA take the award over him?
@@Wolfeson28 The winner had almost double the innings. That's all I can think for the reason
2:24 "You know, I'm not a baseball expert"
Actually Bailey, it seems to me that you're currently making a career out of... Being a baseball expert.
I thought he called himself a baseball expert while playing Winnie the Pooh baseball.
Miggy won the AL triple crown in 2012 just like real life. He was pretty good.
I’d like to picture an alternate universe where Grady Sizemore stayed healthy and became a hall of famer
I was excited for this from when I first saw the posts on Twitter, but it wasn't until Jose Fernandez came up that I realized just how exciting (and, in that case, heart wrenching) this could be - I was excited to see heroes of mine like Wright get a fuller career, but thinking of a guy like Fernandez whose career (and, of course, life) was so tragically cut short getting a chance to build a full career is really powerful.
I'm super excited for this series, and I know if anybody is going to do it justice it's Bailey. I can't wait!
Do this in 1995 with the Mariners imagine Randy, Jr., Edgar, A-Rod, and Big Papi himself David Ortiz on the same team
YES!
Your second pronunciation of Ruggiano is correct. He managed to play in the MLB in 10 seasons, not bad for someone who sits in my early 2010s memory bank.
Fighting Texas Aggie Justin Ruggiano!!!
Mets legend
Pedroia signing with Milwaukee is killing me :'(
I just realized the Red Sox are probably screwed financially because they didn't get to do the 2012 salary dump with LA. They're stuck with Carl Crawford in perpetuity
It may be his contact is not the same in this universe. Pujols has a different contact
2012 was the first year i started seriously watching baseball, so this feels made for me lol
Ditto
Haven’t watched yet but hoping for a fully healthy David Wright career.
51:50 ...but at what cost...?
Ruben Rivera popping up on the Rays after being out of the league since 2003 and playing 8 years in Mexico to win a world series with the Rays is hilarious.
“The cardinals had to settle for a wild card spot”
As if they didn’t have the greatest regular season comeback ever, aside from the Rays in the same year at the same time
This is very cool I'm definitely going to be checking out this series, you also motivated me to run my own little OOTP past simulation.. I'm doing it from all the way back to the early 1980's to see where guys like Ken Griffey Jr and others get drafted and see how they do.
As a Rays fan seeing the Rays win their first World Series one year and Longo winning MVP the next makes me so happy
About 43 mins in and I love all the videos on this channel as well as Baseball Bits, but as simple as this idea is, I think this is my favorite baseball video I've watched. I love what-if stuff, and seeing some old names go bonkers is awesome.
Update at 1:37:15, pain - can't get David Wright a chip even in a sim
So unbelievably hype for this. love ur OOTP stuff
It seems even in an alternate universe where the Mariners won it all, we still can't have King Felix in the postseason; he was out injured.
I have alternate history nostalgia from 2011 when I did a 1976-on simulation of the Cleveland Indians (changed the name to the Blues) on Baseball Mogul. I got 9 years of Roger Clemens, plugging him directly into my starting rotation out of college... finally the Yankees offered him more than I could match, he tore his ACL in his first year with them, and 2 years later I had him back as a competent long reliever, instead of the HoFer who won two Cy Youngs with me. Damn the Yankees.
Love how the Mariners drafted J.P Crawford
This is pretty cool. Excited to watch!
This is enough lunchtime content for 4 weeks what a treat
Thank you for posting this!!!! absolutely GOAT content.
The real life 2013 Mariners went 71-91 and had Nick Franklin and Brendan Ryan 3rd and 4th in the lineup. I watched most of the games that season. This AU is the therapy I've needed ever since
I’m surprised Pujols isn’t higher in the hitting ratings at the start. 2011 wasn’t his best year but he still had a 148 Ops+
Not to mention that he had no XBHs through his first month.
I really enjoyed this video and look forward to more!
Thank god u exist bruh cause I watch clique productions and others do sims like this in NBA 2k and always wanted somebody to do something like it in OOTP, it's a perfect game for videos like this but nobody has jumped on it yet til now
Excellent video, your content is interesting, but really it is your voice, pacing, and insights that make this really fun to watch.
I’m new to your channels, but I think you could really be on a pro-sports broadcast show. I can hear you going through the out of town scoreboard on commercial breaks. Then running the post game show from the studio. You’ve got some real skill.
heck yes bailey, this is exactly the stuff i love binging
Had a one and half hour train ride thank you for this blessing
awesome video. rn I'm in the middle of something on ootp go where i set it back to 1871. keep up the good work!
omg 2 hours and only part 1, my body wasn't ready for this
Honestly very underrated content from bailey would love to see more
Great that you’re doing some ootp content. Great game.
Not everyone's gonna watch this but I am EXCITED for this. Funny enough I am a very casual Baseball fan who could never tell you even the starting line up of my own team. But I love stuff like this and always will. Idk why but listening to stuff like this along with playing video games are great so imma just play MLB 21.
Really hope for more!
Ruben Rivera shows up in every sim from around then and I have no idea why
Love that we got back to back first time winners in first two WS
This is going to be fantastic. Last year I started something similar but all the way back to the Mariners Inaugural year 1977.
i would like to see the top 100 prospects just s little bit more, and would also like if you’d scroll through every teams off-season recap so we can stay updated with every teams moves
for some reason this video is simultaneously exciting and soothing
love OOTP for these types of things. Imagine this combined with the Show. I might die happy.
*cries in Madden*
Wake up, Babe! Foolish Bailey posted!
you broke my damn heart with the Jarrod Parker shout out. i’ll never forgive the baseball gods
this is my kinda content. love OOTP. thanks Bailey.
I think the highest complement I can give someone is this. I don't like baseball, but I love foolish baseball.
“Remember ___” Yes. All of them. Every single player. This is my whole childhood. MLB 2k12 was one of about 5 video games total that I played as a kid and I must have put multiple months worth of play time in that disc. If I wasn’t playing it I was writing down fun imaginary lineups. So much Nelson Cruz.
The A’s winning a wildcard game? What kind of alternate reality is this?
Only natural they would be in the first 2 wild card games in MLB history. Fun too that both the wild card games in 2013 were in the bay area.
2013 Marlins have a strong start to the season, was at the top of the NL East a few times and most recently on August 1st, and then completely collapse and not even finish above .500.
Yep, that's the Marlins I know and love.
Can't believe you passed on a chance to bring up Big Sexy himself when he was on screen at the end of May 2012. 2 complete games for him through May, mad respect
I'm old enough to remember Robbie Ross's rookie year and man, he was fun to watch that year. It's a shame he was never able to maintain that level of performance consistently because he was absolute nails when he was on his game.
OOTP is a game you can literally play for hours in a day and never get bored of. I love recreating sims of the 2000’s and 2010’s
Take a shot every time Bailey says "fun"
Taken me drunk, ociffer.. I'm home 🤪🙃
The Mariners winning the World Series in 2013, followed by the Seahawks winning the Super Bowl in February of 2014 might have killed me from joy. Why isn't this real life? Felix not only saw the playoffs, but the World Series!
This is the true time-line
This lockout could go on for 20 years and this man would still find ways to produce great MLB content consistently
Never forget that the Dbacks blew a 3-1 lead in 2013.
As a Royals fan, seeing Alex Gordon on the Red Sox feels awful for the half second it takes to remind myself it's not real
Almost as bad as moose being a brewer, but that wouldn't happen, right?
"Ryan Zimmerman is now an Atlanta Brave"
*NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO*
"Sorry, Nationals' fans"
*No you're not, Bailey, and we both know it*
i really enjoy foolish bailey ootp content. hope he makes more in the future
On the subject of the weirdness of Max Russell and the Reliever of the Year Award - OOTP gives a Stuff bonus to pitchers coming out of the pen. He also has a more varied pitch repertoire than other relievers. Might have something to do with it? That's just my guess from playing a lot of OOTP, but there's also the random variance of play both with the talent change modifier and how the game works.
Thank you, Bailey
1:21:43 Cord Phelps hit a walk-off home run for his first in his MLB career then dipped
Love your content from both channels Bailey. But I don't want this alternate universe where the Royals might not make it to back-to-back World Series. Hopefully we see plenty of Brady Singer called strikes this year!
glad 2 have foolish ootp back
I've never been happier as a Mariner's fan... This simulation cures all the pain!
This video was great and all but the ad before it was the Trailer to Elvis and OMG does it look amazing
Man I wish I could live in this universe. Not because my team won anything, but because it would be 2012 again
All that matters here is no infield fly rule
Shout out Eric Chavez! My favorite baseball player of all time finally seeing love in the all star game! It just took him going to a big market and staying healthy to achieve that
Great Video!
48:23 omg sicnarf loopstok is an ottawa titan now ! i just saw their opening exhibition game yesterday
This is gonna be good. What OOTP settings did you use to set this up?
this is the era i started paying attention to baseball outside of playing it, thanks
Royals notes:
2012 Billy Butler had 194 hits, 28 HR's, 114 RBI, a .310/.373/.522 slash and 2 points towards MVP.
2013 Mike Moustakas finished top 5 in RBI
2013 Jarrod Dyson finished top 5 in stolen bases

Would there be a roster download for this where I'd also be able to do this or would I have to input this manually this is a such a dope concept makes me want to get the game
Hey Bailey, I saw Xander Bogaerts playing catcher in the futures game. Might be something to change/keep an eye on
I think an underrated crazy thing is Ruben Rivera making a comeback after a decade out of the majors
My first ootp was 16 and sometimes I go back and check my marlins file to see Jose Fernandez ball out RIP
Straight from the first frame, there are some names I haven’t heard in a long time. Tolleson and Betemit.
McNeil to the Mariners is interesting because he was a part of the Kelenic trade right up to the 11th hour when the Mets decided to keep him. Funny how things seem to work out sometimes
the reds blowing playoff leads in two consecutive seasons is so on-brand it's painful
Ruben Rivera: OOTP historical mode legend
2012 is super interesting with the Nationals going so far. Pretty sure thats the year they were stupid good and decided to shut down Strasburg for the playoffs. Everyone thought the Nats could win it all until they did that.
I remember so many of these fellas thanks to MLB Power Pros 2008 for the Nintendo Wii
Haven’t watched yet but I love it
