This is my favorite song and album by them.
I tune my acoustic (Martin Sigma) to open G and love noodling around this tune. One of their best. BLACKBERRY, NO SPEAK NO SLAVE, Morning song, TORNADO, and SHE GAVE GOOD SUNFLOWER are also great tunes.
Chris Robinson gets his "persona" as being part Jagger, Rod Stewart, and Steve Marriot (Humble Pie). Basically he has the soul of a black blues singer, mixed with an Appalachian folk revival preacher.

In typical Crowes fashion, this song has a improvised jam section in the middle for the live show. They can do a 3 hour concert and only do about 15-20 songs.
This was their main line up after Jeff Cease was ejected for not being able to play the 1st album live. Chris and Rich Robinson (vocals and rhythm guitar) Marc Ford on lead guitar, Johnny Colt on bass, the late great Ed Harsch on piano, and Steve Gorman on drums.
I don't remember anymore, but I already wrote it somewhere. When the "Crowes" played in Hamburg (germany) in the 80's I was on vacation with my family. I break the holydays and went back to hamburg to see (and hear) the fucking great performance from the Crowes. I think I was the oldest guy in the crowd. Fuck off ! The mood was great and Chris Robinson gave some joints to the audience. That was really very nice and the party was also really great - I`ll never forget that. Great decision, an absolutely live band, their passion comes from the blues of course, also have some great live bootlegs.
Here in Central Europe, I only discovered them when Remedy was on the radio several times, although it didn't appeal to the masses at the time (Nirvana, Guns ...). Simply great! But Pearl Jam too.
The Crows did knock Nirvana off their limb once. People wanted to put the Crows in a glam or hair band category. .....but they couldn't. They did tour with quite a few though. I wished I appreciated them back then as much as I do now. In fact I wished I had a Black Crows t shirt. The one with Heckle and Jeckel on it 😅.
Harri you are one of my favorite guys. I saw Black Crowes In Glasgow (Scotland) and in Seattle (Washington). Great live band!!

Harri if you want a real treat check out any of the video footage of Jimmy Page & The Black Crowes. They did a tour and released an album Live At The Greek Theatre ! Chris Robinson the singer does a great job on the Led Zep material.

What is your problem? There are a ton of people who missed out on the Crowes. Harri has reacted to the Crowes before but never this track. And why the keyboards? Because Eddie Harsch is an unbelievable keyboard player and the Hammond Leslie Organ kicks maximum ass. Rich is a good guitar player. He's solid and he locks it down but he's not Marc Ford or Audley Freed.
There's no reason to try and dis a guy who works as hard as Harri does. I had no idea who Ten Years After were until someone played them for me. I had no clue how amazing Bad Brains were until the boys from DOA told me to listen to them.
Music is a journey. If I mentioned Big Joe Williams, Sidney Bechet, Stanley Jordan, The Meters, Mac Rebennack, Lefty Frizzel, Art Tatum, Chick Webb, Marc Ribot, Larry Taylor (all giants) you may not know who I am talking about, but I wouldn't ask what rock you lived under, I would tell you to check them out because you might find something there to love. That's what this is all about out man. Bringing music to an audience who may not have heard it.
