What an amazing moment to have frozen in time. Thank you for sharing.
You are so good, i remember when You were with Hearbie and Freddy ....awesome ❤️❤️👏👏!!
Are those gut strings ?
Simply sublime. Bill Evans was a genius, no doubt.
I can't tell you how many times I've seen the BW versions of this footage, and to think someone colorized it! Thanks for sharing.
My pleasure!
When God wants to sit in an armchair and to listen to music, he listens to this. I'm sure. Thank you for uploading such an unbelievably valuable content.
It's interesting that this was filmed at the home of Ilkka Taneli Kuusisto who was a composer of popular opera. Quite removed from the jazz of Bill's music. It might explain the high recording quality and the piano being tuned to perfection. Absolutely awesome!!!!
These guys are on a different level!
A magical moment. I could listen to it all day, every day.
I’m brand new to jazz but Bill Evans has me in the palm of his hand. I was a fool for many years and assumed jazz simply wasn’t for me despite the forays into Charley Christian, Wes Montgomery or Joe Pass as any self-respecting guitarist may but I found so much of it to be self indulgent meandering. Bill Evans has such a taste for melody and theme, though, where his reaching out is more explorative than it is indulgent. This period of jazz that is faithful to a tune yet open to exploration… boy, howdy, it’s got me all twisted up.
55 years ago was such a wonderful time...
Whenever I listen to Bill, I either have tears in my eyes or a smile on my face...or sometimes, I have BOTH!!! Listen to the tune "Emily," and.to his voicings and approach to that piece..Bill seems to be ice skating on his keyboard! He puts me into orbit on "Alfie" also. Magnificent.
Ice skating 👌✨
The best jazz pianist FOREVER!!!
Incredible! His intelligence and intellect come across his music and for the first time I get to listen to him talk, through his speech as well.
The best thing the internet has ever produced in my opinion.
Worth to live
It’s too good to have a concert like this one ! More intimate and have some interactions because you played music and after you discuss about the intellectual concept of the music 🎶 : it’s like a jam yeah but few analysis !
And there are not many people and especially it’s Bill EVANS 🤍🤍🤍🎶🎶 !
Amazing perfomance...one of the best trio of the jazz history...golden musicians ...but Bill is the best at all...thanks for your music....
"I don't like to hear superfluous things...I don't like obvious embroidering...I don't like to make people work hard to understand what I'm doing." And, what wonderful hosts to bring the trio into their home.
Superb recording, wonderful insight from Bill, Eddy Gomez was like a fosset, just flow of water from the very first beginning.
Easily one of the best videos you've uploaded to date. A conversation with Bill Evans and the intimacy of the setting. Thank you, I hope this channel never disappears.
Great find.
Thanks, i agree and I hope so.
J'AI TOUJOURS DIT QUE, LA MARQUE INDÉLÉLBILE DE BILL A ÉTÉ, SA DÉLICATESSE D'IMPROVISATION, SA CAPACITÉ D'ABSTRACTION MÉLODIQUE, OUTRE SA TECHNIQE RAFINÉE... IL A TOUJOURS PLANNÉ COMME UN OISEAU, AU DESSUS DU CLAVIER!!! SAUDADES! DIRECTEMENT DE SALVADOR-BAHIA-BRASIL!!! VIVE BILL EVANS!!!
He was always my favorite - when I listen to his musical philosophy in the interview connected to this wonderful session, I understand why.
Beware viewers: this video is so gorgeous it will Finnish you off.
It's the first time I've seen it while talking a lot. It's a valuable video
This is truly wonderful. And the intelligence of the hosts is obvious and so refreshing. Evans' genius is the greatest of treasures.
Fantastic... Fascinating.... Freaking...
Wonderful! This one in particular looks really well done. I would have believed that it was filmed in colour.
Amazing to see them play and to hear Bill Evans explain his phiosophy. Thank you so much for posting.
I am so touched. Thank you so much for uploading this video! Bill Evans - a timeless genius!
What an elegance! Extraordinarily filmed and recorded, amazing, no words.
Well Henri here’s a wonderful rendition of - Emily - which i must say is exquisite. This clip captures a very intimate moment. Just lovely. Enjoy this rare treat folks. G’day & Cheers!
Finland and Bill Evans seem such a perfect match, ah, and Emily. Let the band of love - be three!
@@henridelagardere264 The sweetness off it all…..! Cheers!
19:50 is my favorite quote…. ever.
Color! Nice job! One of my favorite videos. This is how I remember my childhood with jazz trios, quartets, quintets... and sometimes entire orchestras of stray musicians in my Nana’s living room playing into the morning. My family was a lot more boisterous than these people though! 😂 we would have been slappin knees hootin and hollerin 😂😂😂 good times
'
The audience is composed of highly educated upper middle class Finns in the home of llkka Kuusisto, a major Finnish conductor. Everything about this video is amazing with excellent sound and filming generously posted by the Kuusisto family on CZcams for all the world to enjoy.
@@peterandreadakis3851 what is the point you are trying to make by noting that they’re highly educated? It hardly matters to me the level of education in the room. I’m just enjoying the music.
Thank you!
🙏❤️🌎🌿🕊🎵🎶🎵
One of my very favorite performances ever, particularly this rendition of Nardis, and just now found it in color - thanks so much for sharing!
WOW! Everything about this is great! And the sound quality is superb. And I love how Bill answers the questions with the same respect with which the audience members listen too his music. Thanks for this.
Wow this footage is so awesome.
Obrigado.
Wow! This is absolutely BRILLIANT!!!!
Just Superb..
Give the memories
Timeless! Thank you! The interviews are works of art as well!
omg...never seen this intimate concert before. Thanks!
This is absolute gold! Thanks for posting ...wish I had found it sooner
Bill is my God! What a genius. Thank you
Looks great in color!!!
Wonderful
Wow amazing, thank you for reviving this gem 💎
Thank you for doing this, man!!🤝 Priceless videos..
Fantastico!
he does the same at 26:09 incredible.
Thank you so much for this!
Thanks for sharing us this gem!
Thanks for sharing!
That was wonderful!!!
aw pal thanks so much for doing this.
honestly thak u that´s real flava
Man, Esau/ Edom"s children are stifl, cold & regimented. Damn, Finland is a cold country temperature wise, but damn the people in this home are strange. Glad 2 people were digging the great Bill Evans & group.
I don't think they are cold. I think they were showing respect for the artistry of this trio. It appeared to me they were listening intently.
@@danielhorton2483 Well that's true, as I've performed in Europe & seen how they listen very intensely. But there is something stiff & strange as well. Maybe it's good, I don't know. Europeans are more respectful to artists though, this is a fact.
Don’t forget this is 1970, not 1960. This is an older, more conservative group of jazz fans. Think of what Miles was doing in 1970, or anyone following Coltrane before this. Still, beautiful concert and interview.
@@stephencarroll230 Yes for sure!
Brother the seed of Jacob is all over Europe. Your judgment is not rooted in the love of Christ. Repent of your self righteousness. The Celts have the bloodline through the Phoenicians. The Mediterraneans intermingled with the seed of Jacob since before Maccabees and well into the Book of Acts. Then another wave came into Europe in 70 AD after Judah was enslaved by the Romans and brought into Italy where they mixed into the population. That’s a shame you see things as black vs white and judge these matters as if you’re better than the gentiles. “Mine inheritance is unto me as a speckled bird.” Christ Himself was mixed with Moabite DNA remember the Book of Ruth? When you stand before Yah and He judges you for this comment do you think He will be pleased?
The little girl's helping Marty set up his drum stands. 00:58
From the 1st note!
I LOVE the sincer heart when Bill asks : What was the beginning of the question?
💝
Damn.
Gracias!

Come andata conversazione dopo?.
..
You know what... this is awesome. But this is better in black and white.
02:53
Emily is ...!!!
2:14 "Yes? Like water.. he's gonna make some legendary quote about me? Finish the metaphor Bill, pls make something good out of this... okay, like water out of a faucet.. could have been worse, I guess"
🎞️🎬🎶🎹👏
This informal press conference looks like the one with the astronauts when they returned from the supposed moon mission. Gloomy.
anyone know the address on Lauttasaari island?
I don’t mean to criticize and generalize but, how is that Americans would talk with so much more vocabulary back then?
Transatlantic postwar culture of superiority complex
I hope the original black and white is still available? Who committed this ‘colorizing’ travesty?
Nordic noir.
For god's sake, stop colorizing videos.. cheap "improvement" of historic material is not what the world needs.
