It’s not “a tiny bit”. Regenerative braking accounts for significant portion of EV efficiency. With ~70% regen efficiency you’re looking at 15-50% realized efficiency while driving (depends on your ability to effectively coast when needed).
Think about it. Best selling car before the Y was the Camry, which is also an appliance. If you need fun, the performance model is faster than a $75k BMW M3.

Its fun and efficient to be able to time when to let off the gas for where you want to stop or at least slow down for a dip/bump without having to use the brakes. The Y seats are very wide and extra comfy too. Most importantly he deliberately overlooks practically no maintenance and the convenience of removing gas station stops. Also, the height of Y is perfect to step straight in and out. Yep, hes a bias hater. Best he stick to ICE vehicles.
