      Hey Matt,
      Question is there any difference between the two models when it comes to sound system. Like how the model 3 performance has the subwoofer but the rear wheel drive does not?

    • @thebarkingmouse
      @thebarkingmouse Před 8 měsíci

      The major benefit of swapping out the 21 inch wheels for 19 inch wheels, or even 18 if you can find them that fit the calipers oh, is it the initial sidewall gives you much more protection against pinching a tire, or bending wheel. I don't have a model y, currently I have a Mazda 3 Turbo, which I chose because I drive a lot through the North Georgia Mountains where superchargers are too few. The relevance of that is the Mazda3 has 18-inch wheels, and 2 tires on potholes, destroying one wheel. It would be even worse with a 21-inch wheel.
      I'm returning from Starbase in Boca Chica today. And while I was there I got to experience several late model Tesla's, and that has convinced me. My next car will very likely be a model y or a model 3 assuming that the supercharging network in North Georgia improved significantly in the meantime.
      If I got one I would immediately swap it for the smallest wheel I could get to fit the calipers with the largest sidewall. There is not much of a performance penalty. As a younger man I used to race cars a bit. And even then on my porch I got smaller Wheels with larger sidewalls After experiencing pinched tires & destroyed forged wheels.
      My lap times were not significantly different using 16-inch wheels versus 18in Wheels. And I had a lot fewer failures of tires and wheels.

    Long range all day! First, the more range the farther you can travel, very important with ev's! Second, the car is already faster than 95% of the vehicles on the road, why pay extra to shave off 0.8 second of your 0-60? With the acceleration boost the long range gets even faster at 4.2 0-60, which is absurd for a car that's already very fast! Third, you get an option for the 7 seater, it may be tight but if you have a small kid or small friend they can fit there just fine! Fourth, it's cheaper!!!
    I'm thrilled with MY Long Range, I have nothing but great things to say about it. Extremely safe and getting safer with each update, very dependable, high quality build and I've bodied many muscles cars and supercars with my long range, which feels great!!!😂 and I'm paying $13.77 for a full charge, mic drop!!!! Get a Tesla you will be very happy! Peace!

Even in the video where you had the top must have accessories for your new Model Y you made it clear that 3D sent you the mats and as much as you love them, you still had a minor critique on the rear mats. Many channels that have products received from manufacturers to review often show the product and give it glowing reviews no matter what. This particular video I'm writing this comment on comparing the long-range can performance is what made me finally choose between the two after a couple weeks of indecisiveness. I now have ordered my new model y performance this video help me decide thank you.

    I got myself a M3. So not comparing M3 vs MY here. I had a lot of angst choosing between M3 LR and M3 P. In the end I went for M3 LR and I don't regret that decision. Although the range difference between the two models is not that much, I planed to do a lot of road trips in remote Australia and I found I did need that little extra range. For around town the extra range is wasted. A lot of people complain about the ride quality of Teslas. Most of those complaining have been in a performance model Tesla. I don't like the ride quality of the performance model 3, expressly as a passenger. The M3 LR is just much nicer. The performance model does look a little bit more aggressive and does handle quite a bit better. The acceleration of Teslas is a wonder to be held and so so much fun. The M3 LR does 0-100km(60miles) in 4.3 seconds and the performance model does the same in 3.3. That is a lot of extra fun in the M3 P. You can get a acceleration boost for the M3 LR for $2000 which I did. This brings the LR Model down to 3.8 seconds for the 0-100/60. Which is 0.5 seconds slower than the M3 P. At these speeds 1/2 a second is a lot and the M3 P wins in acceleration fun. You can get the acceleration boost for the Model Y as well, dropping 1/2 a sec off your 1-100/60. So for me I prefer the LR over the P. The ride is a lot better. The range is a little better, enough to make a difference for me but probably not for most people. If you get the 2K acceleration boost then the fun in the P is a little better, but the LR with the boost is still seriously fun. Hopes that helps people choose.

    one thing to point out about range is that its based on a 100% charge at "ideal" driving conditions. In real-world conditions, the Long Range has better range in local driving and mixed driving where as the performance has better range at highway speeds based on Car and Driver testing. Likely attributable to the larger motors in the performance not having to work as hard at highway speeds as the long range motors would. I initially ordered the Long Range and then changed to the performance since I like the option of the extra acceleration and the visual appeal of the uberturbine wheels. This is true haha. I ordered a MYLR because I have had sporty suspension before and did not like it for our roads here in Sweden. Our roads are getting worse and worse unfortunately. Otherwise I would go for Performance, even though in Sweden the price difference is 11-12000 USD between long range and performance.
      Worth to mention is that the performance is a bit lower and will not be as good on "forest roads" which I tend to drive on when doing Motocross, with the motocross on the tow bar. So for me it is an easy choice. If I didn't do motocross I would probably go for performance.
