I'm 54 and my wife and I are VERY worried about our future, gas and food prices rising daily. We have had our savings dwindle with the cost of living into the stratosphere, and we are finding it impossible to replace them. We can get by, but can't seem to get ahead. My condolences to anyone retiring in this crisis, 30 years nonstop just for a crooked system to take all you worked for.

I feel your pain mate, as a fellow retiree, I’d suggest you look into passive index fund investing and learn some more. For me, I had my share of ups and downs when I first started looking for a consistent passive income so I hired an expert advisor for aid, and following her advice, I poured $30k in value stocks and digital assets, Up to 200k so far and pretty sure I'm ready for whatever comes...

This video was so accurate and well done. I agree with the price increase not being worth it. I ended up getting the model X because the model Y at the time increased dramatically to $85k. I wanted the model Y because like he said, it checks all the boxes for most. But when the price increased so much in a short period of time, it honestly just was not luxurious enough to justify it. It is a tech car that’s fun, it’s not a luxury brand. I agree with him too- once it’s time for me to consider another car again, due to the quality issues- i may end up going back to previous luxury brands instead too.

I gotta say, I have owned Mercedes for the last 25 years, and many of the same problems surface on brand new mercedes suvs. engines quit/die. car fails to start because of a switch or sensor, and on and on. Power steering units fail, and last of all , fit and finish issues as well. brake issues. most of my friends are loyal bmw guys, and even more issues with bimmers, so I honestly believe that ANY mass produced vehicle , no matter what engine or drive train will have similar issues, that once in a while , cannot be avoided.

I've had my Model Y Performance for 12 months. 30k miles driven. Refilled the window wiper fluid twice. Replaced the 2 rear tires from wear and tear with Tesla which cost me about $1,000. No other service issues. In July 2021 I paid 68k out the door. Wrapped the car and ceramic coated the entire vehicle for $10k.
    1. Exterior and interior is a cheaper quality compared to other car companies.
    2. Manually closing the front trunk correctly can be difficult at times.
    3. Acceleration is amazing, but the ride is bumpy compared to other premium crossovers.
    4. The touchscreen is the most responsive and user-friendly compared to any other vehicle manufacturer in the market.
    5. The Tesla fast-charging network is #1 compared to other car companies.

Tesla has had many years to fix quality issues and I haven’t seen any major changes to that currently. I have a Tesla service/sales(pickup) center nearby that has a good dozen teslas waiting for service. My local collision center where my cousin works gets many newish Teslas that need a lot of work. One example is the missing undercoating spray. Another popular one is body panels, such as the rear bumper cover falling off. The price increase is because the Tesla Model Y is the only Tesla that fully qualifies for the tax reduction of $7500 for buying an EV vehicle. Tax Exemption law was passed during the 2022 Inflation Reduction Act or whatever it's called. The other Teslas only qualify for $3500. Buying EV is a really good idea right now because of that tax exemption bit added in last year, but the cars have to me be basically made and primarily sourced in the U.S; so, the list isn't very long

Without saying the NEMA number/descriptor (explaining the amperage and voltage, and the plug type), saying “a NEMA plug” is meaningless. They’re all NEMA plugs, that’s just a standard. You can have a NEMA plug that is the same as your household 110/120v outlet, which will charge the car in ~24 hours or so, or a 220/240v plug (like welders would use) that will charge the car in 4-8 hours. Obviously it depends on the charge state of the car, though, on how long it takes. But every Tesla adapter for the mobile connector is a NEMA plug/adapter.

Kevin, after viewing your video I decided not to purchase a FISKEER EV I had booked and went for a Hybrid RAV4! less than half the model Y or fisker Ocean price, and neat features. The fenders reportedly stay in place, and the vehicle gets a lot done with radars and fewer cameras, making simple repairs not expensive. Just imagine the cost of repairing a fender-bender on a Y. Thanks Kevin, I got the exact same configuration white on white preformance model Y with fsd in April 22, the fsd dose make driving more relaxed but it gets confused on small roads when there is a change in the painted road lines, (if the dont match uo) shutting itself off. Your driving is unfavorably scored by this error (forced shut-offs) even though its the fsd problem.
I heard if your score is below 97 you can't get the beta (up-graded software). I'm at 92 curently, Other compaints with the fsd, it sticks to the same speed when going around sharp corners in the road so it is a bit jerky and feels like its speeding up. It sometimes dose not see speed signs (especially when the signs are caution signs in yellow here in VT) In small towns with narrow streets it drives way to close to the parked cars, if somone opened a door or stepped out between the cars an accident could occure.
Most of the time the fsd is pretty good at keeping in the center of the road, however when there is a string of cars coming in the oppisite direction and the road is curving on the drivers side, the fsd goes very close to the center line, and the on coming trafic. My safty habit is to leave more room in case one of the on coming cars swirves a little across the line, but if you do this it will disengage the fsd.
Another anoyance is sometimes it comes to an almost dead stop if there is a blinking yellow light, I'v gotten used to this and just accelerate, however if there are drivers directly behind you they can find it anoying. All said, I lreally like the car otherwise, however I live in the mountians on a long steep gravel driveway that gets a ton of snow in the winter so will have to see how well it dose?

In February I realized how crazy high the resale value was soooo.... on March 1, 2022 I ordered a blue MYP with a tow hitch and 3 days later the prices went up as you know. Took delivery of the MYP on June 18 and getting it wrapped with a clear "prism" PPF so it changes from deep blue to deep purple depending on viewing angle. Now, I need to sell the MYLR and it looks like that resale value is still more than what I paid for the MYP.
.....I also got the messages for "camera blocked" messages too, mainly due to condensation in the B-Pilar cameras. Car in warm humid garage, then it goes out in the cold air and that little camera window fogs up.
The MYP seems to have much better fit/alignment than the MYLR, both Fremont built cars.

If you think you should get a luxury interior for that price, are you willing to give up that tech? Don't you think you are paying for the tech, and not necessarily for the luxury? How many cars go from 0-60 in low 3 secs? Those vehicles are usually in the hundreds of thousands of dollars, or even over million dollars. Just sayin......

We love our Tesla y. The features we are sorely missing are a light on the relevant rear view mirrors when there is someone in the blind spot on either side. If one has a blinker on to move into an occupied blindside, a chime would ring on the relevant side. Blind spot warning can track continuously and draws attention to the surroundings if needed.
The other thing that would prevent accidents would be cross traffic warning for the back of the car, for card or people walking by. Please please please add these features.

I test drove a MYP a couple months ago, and it sure is quick in a straight line and handles turns really well. Great turning radius. The suspension is not up to par with traditional auto makers though. I really like it, and have put in an order for one. But I’m not sure if I’m gonna go through with it. I feel like Tesla is starting to price themselves out of the market. Along with reports of poor service/support, overwhelming orders and rushed production, it’s making it tough to think it’s a wise purchase at north of $70k. Nice succinct review Kevin!

Exactly, there are other options out there for an EV. In my looking around at the other options - Ford MachE, Kia EV6, etc. Those cars were serious contenders. But to get their vehicle as close to the same build as Tesla as possible - AWD, the longest range you can get with their car, and by the time the unscrupulous dealers mark it up you are paying Tesla prices. So, at least for me if I am going to pay Tesla prices I may just as well buy the Tesla. Especially since the Tesla is widely regarded as being years ahead of the competition in their technology as well as experienced in this new platform of electric vehicles .
Plus, can't forget about the whole charging network thing if you travel.
