- Take a walk on the steampunk side with the mesmerizing Strandbeest!
This incredible walking machine is made from wood, brass, steel, and a little bit of magic with electrickery. Watch as its gears turn and it explores its surroundings on its own two legs. It's a stunning blend of art and engineering that will leave you in awe. Don't miss out on experiencing the beauty of the Strandbeest - a true masterpiece of mechanical wonder.

a good meccano night out it looks like it had a few more drinks from the pub cheers 🍺for the vido .
Glad you enjoyed it.
Very nice minimalism. I’ve seen a lot of fancy strandbeests before, but never one that looks so like a bunch of walking sentient sticks!
Thank you. A bunch of sentient sticks - I like that description!
I love the slow gentle movement 👍
Thanks. I did contemplate putting a bit more power through it to speed it up, but it has a charm at the speed it is at I think.
@@BaldyMakesStuff yes, I am not in favour of the "make it faster" brigade. It spoils the beauty of the movement 😊
Very nice! Next challenge: metal, wood and wind, like a real Strandbeest!
Not sure I could fit that on my bench! The original Strandbeest by Theo Janssen are made of UPVC for lightness.
I met Theo 20 years ago. He gave a presentation about his work, very impressive. Is Beachbeast a good translation?
classic .. good !
Thank you, much appreciated.
Something about it this is quite mesmerizing 😵💫. Between the movement and the music, I dig it my guy 🤙
Thanks very much, appreciated.
Very cool model and video!😎👍
Thanks Fabian, glad you liked it.
Nice build mate, thats a really nice clean motion to it.
Cheers, glad you liked it.
Frankenbeast!
It's a great model !
Is the strip made of wood?
Thank you. The legs are made of wood. I have an earlier video where I showed how I did CAD drawings and got some plywood laser cut.
Hay mate, would it be ok for the ULEZ.
Thanks.
LOL, well it is an electric vehicle so I guess so.
