  • Zed is touted as the new VSCode killer. I had to check it out for myself.

These kind of plug-ins and extensions got a massive boost over the last 4 years...
I worked on something like this back in 2010, but it was an eclipse plugin (Yeah... Eclipse was the cool kid in the block once...).
These days nearly every major IDE/Code Editor has that. The IntelliJ one also works really great now. Back in 2020 it was a gamble if your session would would be stable and everything was synced.
For some use cases this is so much better than screen sharing.

My Bachelor's of Computer Applications in iOS course is starting this June, so which MacBook and how much RAM and SSD should I go for?

Preferably m3 macbook pro 16gb unified memory 512gb SSD should be future proof as well will work for more than 4 years tbh, or you can go for 13 inch air m3 of same specifications, if you want to save some.

@@arunabhsrivastava7841 Do you think M2 Pro MacBook Pro is better than M3. Ive seen that it performs much better than the m3

This is super useful. We got a huge team, and explaining people stuff when screensharing the code, that they can't even see properly, is just sad.

If I run the app, where would it run? In the host machine or locally?

Hey dude, why don't you connect that to an llm instead of another PC. And you can pair program with another programmer in real time and just let it make changes

I do see the use case for google docs, slides, sheets… but I cant really think of the usefulness of editing the same file simultaneously. does anyone have use cases for this??

    Goodbye privacy :)
    Still useful for many cases
    Thanks

Why do you want privacy? Unless its for the sake of some beliefs then sure but otherwise shouting privacy is just you wanting to hide your dirty side
