  • Paul Rubens 4th Gen Artist Watercolor Review | Paul Rubens Watercolour Tubes
    In this review we take a look at the Paul Rubens 4th Gen Artist Watercolours, this is a whooping 36 set of 5ml tubes. In the review we take a look at the tubes themselves, the overall palette, information displayed on the tubes along with a demonstration. As well as this, on my written review I have included all of the lightfast information, pigment information, transparency and opaqueness charts etc. Also, if you would like to understand a bit more about the artwork I created to help demonstrate the Paul Rubens Watercolors, I have included links to my short speed painting CZcams video, along with still image of said artwork taken throughout the painting process, this allows the viewers to enlarge and inspect the required images in detail and in their own time. Links to all four elements of the Paul Rubens Artist Watercolors can be found below.
    Please don't forget to like the video if you have enjoyed it and if you would like to leave a comment in the comment section this is always welcomed. For me personally, I feel the comments you guys leave on my reviews is where the value lays, the reviews are just a very small part, you guys sharing your own experience with the products, no matter if you love or hate them, is so valuable.

    AMAZON AND GOOGLE STATEMENT
    I would also like to include a statement, the only money I make from the reviews I create and upload is from Google Adsense, the more you guys view, like and comment on the videos or written reviews, the more I would earn, there is no cost to you at all. I also add links for the products I talk about, these links are for Amazon UK, US and EU. I would like to assure you all, every single Sunday, I click on hundreds of links in my reviews to ensure they are still directing you to the cheapest product on amazon and that the links are not broken. What this means for you is that should you decide to buy a product from Amazon via my links, you can be rest assured that it is the cheapest on Amazon, I earn a small percentage from your purchase but this is at zero cost to you as the customer of amazon. I have an Amazon store front listing every product I have reviewed which you can visit and again, all prices are the lowest on Amazon. Thank you so much for your continued support.

    Hullo Harry, thanks for sharing this wonderful painting and review of these paints! I have purchased the metallic set in the pink palette. I found the paints very nice for “student grade” paints. Yeah I did use quotation marks as I feel these paints are in between real student and professional grade paints. Perhaps the “Artist” grading is why? I think paints with pigment information are for artists! With this information the individual person/artist can decide if they are going to use this paint! I have met plenty of artists that have never cared if their artworks are archival! I was never one of them! Some people just don’t care and don’t plan on selling originals, prints or licensing their artwork for sale is their goal. I have not sold an original painting in several years, but if I do I have to know that it is not going to fade on the owner! Now displaying your artwork behind UV glass or a UV coating can be so critical for preservation. If I sell something I always have recommendations for the new owners. If they ignore me, oh well that is just the way the cookie crumbles. Oh I purchased the set of paints for the palette! My wife thought it was super cute and I replaced the metallic paint with DaVinci Watercolors, a lovely set of 24 colors and she has been overjoyed with them and happy with the pretty pink palette! Thank you for sharing this review and painting with us. I saw a comment on the Russian paints and I hope you know that your true fans of the channel never thought you would ever intentionally do or say anything disrespectful and I believe that there are trolls and people that just look for fights with the anonymity of the Internet feel free to spread disrespect and hatred. You are not one of them! Stay safe be well and we will see you next video!

    I love doing desaturated botanicals also, greying down the green almost making it a tonal painting.😊

    I’ve seen a lot of demos on CZcams about this paint. There are some lovely colors but I don’t need them. Would be great for a beginner 🎉

    Joann's Fabrics has a little box of 30-piece containers for $7.99, and I put my watercolors I chose in them and labeled them

      I just checked out the website of the company, looks like an awesome place and their website is well laid out. I think I know what you are referring to and that is a very good idea.

    I wish they sold smaller sets, I like to mix my own colours

      I know they sell a 24 set, I talk about that on the written review, but I’m not sure if they go smaller, I’ll double check with the Paul Rubens contact

    Thank you! I'm dying to try these! Have you reviewed the White Nights watercolours?

    • @TheArtGearGuide
      @TheArtGearGuide  Před 2 měsíci +3

      I tried to review the White Nights watercolours and I was accused of killing Ukrainians and helping the Russians. That was the reason I almost stopped the channel, I made a video about it which is still on the channel. I couldn’t believe what was happening, all I wanted to do was review a set of watercolours that up until this terrible war happened, everyone loved and raved about.
      What I find really strange about that entire event, I have seen a few other female reviewers, recently review the exact same watercolors and not a single word was mentioned in the comments section about those reviewers propping up the Russian Gov in buying and reviewing a Russian product. I was stunned to be honest. Then the only conclusion I came to was, the premise must have been, because I am a man reviewing the watercolors I am of evil intent, but when these ladies review the exact same product, they couldn’t possibly have the same intent as their male counterpart.
      And don’t get me wrong, I was relived in a way that these other reviewers didn’t get the same backlash I did, because what happened to me was wrong. All people like me want to do is review products, regardless of the country they originate and that countries Governments political ideology.
      So in short, no I haven’t reviewed them on the channel nor will I. I do have quite a large set of them and I personally love them, they have a beautiful granulated set which I got and they are just gorgeous. I really wish I could review them but unfortunately not.

      @@TheArtGearGuide oh my! That is horrible what happened to you! I have watched several reviews of them and didn't notice any comments about supporting Russia, or the war. That is awful...you could be right about that being because you are a man. I am with you though...I love a good art supply no matter where it's from and I'll bet the people who manufacture the paint in Moscow are not in favour of the war either! Not all Russian citizens are...many of them have friends and family in Ukraine. As for the paint I have heard nothing but excellent things about it and I'm just so anxious to get a set and try them out! They look almost luminous from what I've seen! I am just beginning to get into watercolour, I've been using coloured pencils for a few years now and I love them, but I also feel like I NEED watercolour in my life lol. Thanks for the info though and I'm so sorry you went though that. I feel that art supply channels should be peaceful, fun places, free of politics. Thanks for keeping your channel so informative and helpful. I've learned so much from you in the last few years I've been watching. Thanks again Harry, all the best to you and your family!
