The solid red bar across your graph is the low voltage cut off. Ideal for laps and bashing, but for speed running you should disable that in the castle link. I would assume that on the 100 mph run you likely would see 2-5 more mph with a longer run. As the amperage starts to come down the voltage should recover and you will get some more RPM out of the motor at that point.

All true and all good points. I knew about disabling voltage cutoff, but was playing it safe testing my new setup. Especially after smoking two Hydras X esc's this summer. I appreciate everyone sharing this kind of info. It was frustrating to be getting faster runs but at the cost destroying expensive electronics. I'm looking forward to better times with FE boats next summer...

I can't believe your still running boats in this cold, I get it that it won't hurt the boat, but I hope you don't have to retrieve it! My luck would be I'd have to swim.... lol. My boats are winterized, it's flying season now. For me!

Hey Sam,I just run my rigger after months of trying to sort out it torque steering to the right, really badly. Turns out it was my error I hit a piece of wood in the water and broke the rudder sheer pin. I took the rudder off for some reason and put it back together with the rudder back to front, blunt side forward. It took me so long to notice, how pathetic.
Anyway while running it with the rudder the wrong way around I burned up the 200 amp ZTW esc. So I put a hobby wing 250 amp max 5 g2 with AliExpress’s water cooling plate on it, removing the cooling fan first of course.
Finally all sorted and today I got 112.3 mph just 4 passes each way, so 8 times past me.
she has more in it but it kept flying off very small bumps.
    Still running TP 4060 1650 KV zero timing and a abc 1820 cleaver 4s hrb 5000 mah 100 c Chinese cheap lipo’s.
    No temps over 100 f
But only 4 laps, 8 passes as I said
The esc is the only change.
    So happy.

Hey Sam this logging data is awesome my ZTW 200 is the old one with no data logging but never the less I think I can glean something from your numbers in the mean time while I’m waiting to get my hydra sorted.
Your boat is running the next prop bigger than I’m running and we both got a hundred mph but my 1650 kv tp4060 running 8s is giving an unloaded RPM of 48840 your 2310kv ( I think you said) anyway close enough ,motor on 6s is 51280 RPM unloaded and you are dropping to about 41000 ish RPM loaded, so for me to achieve the same speed with a smaller prop my RPM must not be dropping anywhere near as low as 41000.
My guess is the amps needed at 6s to achieve the power(watts) your using must be way more than the amps I’m using on 8s
I think it shows the efficiency of higher volts lower kv reducing the amp load on the lipo’s.
I recon my next purchase might be the new 200 amp 8s ZTW it’s got logging and is over 1000 amp burst also fairly light.
    Cheers mate
    Merry Christmas
Can wait to see the RSX run.

Data Log answers so many questions. And brings up more. Like how much does cold lipos affects voltage sag and ripple current? RaceMechaniX strongly recommends pre-heating lipos. Before on 8s my ripple current was highest at 27%. But higher voltage is more efficient. Would it be lower than 6s now with shorter wires and QS8 connectors? Even with cold lipos my ripple current is cut in half. Guess I'll find out next summer, and I'm really looking forward to running my boats now with these setups! Full send and hang on! Merry Christmas...

Hey Sam do you have any logging screenshots from when the SVM burned up you hydra x ?
I’m trying to get TPpower to make standard carbon sleeved rotors to put in the svm to cure the problem that they have with the clearances using the metal sleeve to save throwing the motor away it has super high amp windings in it.

@@jamesatkinson7517 Do you have the Castle Link software on your computer? When I try to open the attachments in the sent email, it doesn't look like the screenshots for me either. I'm pretty sure if you download the files you can look at the Data Log. Since I have the software on my computer, I just double click on the file and it opens it using the Castle Link. You should be able to look at the Data Log graph and fully manipulate it.

How do you have a 2310 KV motor running 6s and it's only 43k rpm. By my calculation it should be closer to 50k rpm.

    • @chilly7261
      @chilly7261  Před 6 měsíci

Fair question. 2310kv x 22.2 volts is 51,282 rpm's. But that's unloaded, theoretical rpm's. The data log is reading actual loaded numbers. And that would vary depending on how loose the boat setup was. Prop size is another factor. All up weight would also factor in. And lipo performance, like voltage sag. And losses due to wire size, length and connector resistance...
Lipo performance also varies with temperature. I was very pleased with how this new setup performed in fairly cold weather. Hit 100 mph without a problem on a short-ish full trigger pull!
I will tell you this. My feel on how much throttle I'm using versus the response is amazing. It felt so strong on 6s compared to the electronic setup I had before...

@@chilly7261 so, I am building my 33fe now and have a 4076 2200kv I was going to put in it. But decided to go with a 4068 2650kv for 4s to keep it under 40,000 rpm. All of the rpm references I see say that is the magic number. So why do they suggest 40k?
