    At the beginning of the video, at a distance I thought the bark looked like chinquapin oak, but then then I read the comments and saw it was a pecan log. At least I was in the right family. I've never sawn a pecan log, but it sure is beautiful wood!

    I love milling pecan. Hard on blades but well worth the effort.
    Also, harder to work with than hickory IMO.

    Pecan, very beautiful I red red oak at first until the slab was cut then I was lost. I have not gotten to saw a pecan yet most we have in east Tennessee is not that large and bbq smokers want it so much most get cut into firewood
